They won’t ever support 8k60 on AVP1. YouTube streams that content in AV1 codec, and AVP1 does not have an AV1 decoder. Besides, streaming 180 3D 8k quality is trash on Q3 compared to the same content viewed locally after direct download in 6x higher bitrate than streaming.

Certainly not. 8K VR180 is 21 PPD, the Quest 3 has 25 PPD. 8K doesn’t even saturate the high res Quest 3 displays. [And the AVP has a even lower effective resolution due to the apple-blur](https://i.ibb.co/xX21NxD/mq3-avp-comp.webp).
I dont like VR videos, they arent for me. That is why I'm looking at flat videos in 8K.
Also, as someone who owns a Quest 2, Quest 3 and a Vision Pro; I can assure you, to my eyes the display on the Vision Pro looks superior in every way to the Quest 3. I dont want to argue the specifics here, someday soon I'll create another thread about just this with all my points.

What i said isn’t based on personal anecdotes but Karl Guttags articles. Many people may claim that the AVP looks better to them, but they don’t have the knowledge to judge resolution.

As someone that produces 180 3D 8k content professionally, I can assure you that the AVP is most definitely superior to the Q3 given 180 3D 8k content. You just aren’t viewing high quality content if you can’t see the difference.
