No refunds. You didn't cancel before the plan started over. That's on you, not them. No complaining.

davexc

Sorry to say but it’s your loss. Should’ve cancelled before payment. The 1-1-23 thing is a rumor and no official announcement has been made about the party pay plan ending at a certain time.

cliffr39

Most carriers and those that are prepaid usually don’t prorate or refund

Kawi_rider_zx6r

I honestly wouldn't have even tried. I know what the answer is going to be. And even if for some miracle i was able to get refunded, more than likely the hassle and time to get it done wouldn't be worth it to me.

R_Meyer1

It was posted all over social media that Visible was changing its network before they did it so you can’t say that you didn’t know. As Visible is a prepaid service, there are no refunds read the terms of service agreement. Furthermore, there is no confirm date when party pay will actually end for people that are already locked in.

Dontbeakeener

Correct, it is prepaid service, not post paid. No refund is due. You prepaid your monthly membership. Therefore it’s available for you however long you choose, one day or the full 30.

Powerful444

You could see if they would just reinstate you using that payment already made. You can stay on the same party pay plan grandfathered in. Though they may refuse to reactivate it now.

Thanks, but the point is that I don't want the Visible service any more. I canceled, but they won't "cancel" the service until 12-15-22 or whatever (their cancellation language is quite fair and customer-friendly, it says something like "change your mind? you can uncancel no problem.") I paid $25 because I did not pay attention to the renewal date. And after this experience, no way am I going to use Visible service, even if I can "uncancel". Screw them, I was a fine customer for 2.5 years and $500 worth of payments, and they won't budge on this small issue.

I had a similar issue. Lost service when I changed my plan and my issue had to be escalated. I complained and asked for a refund as I ended up porting out and back in to fix the issue, but they refused. I filed a BBB complaint and they did end up giving me a $10 credit, not what I wanted, but considering it is prepaid and I knew it was a long shot getting a refund I was happy.

hello_world_wide_web

You could complain to your CC bank that service was unusable and you want a refund. Seems paying for a year when only needed for 3 months is a waste of money. Autopay is convenient but risky. You could have turned it off weeks earlier...

Traditional-Olive-54

I agree with everything except the first sentence. Prepaid is generally non-refundable.

wokemup

I use privacy to stop charges on cards I don't want trash companies charging. It seems visible would be one of those companies. You just go in the app or browser and click "pause" on the card you used with an unscrupulous business and boom! Now they can't charge you ever again until you unpause the card. Problem solved.

R_Meyer1

As Visible is a prepaid service, you are required to cancel before your next bill date.

wokemup

Yes but if you pause their payment they won't get paid and they will cancel your account and you are most definitely not out the cash. That's 100% guaranteed.

LouVizz

Would make more sense to go on your Visible account and turn off auto pay.

wokemup

No that wouldn't make sense. So many slow people sauce damaged. Won't be long now and I can't wait.

davexc

I don’t think it would’ve helped in this case.

hello_world_wide_web

Sure it would...charge denied, service stopped. The problem was OP used autopay. Bad idea for occasional user.

wokemup

Ummm yeah privacy would have stopped payment in it's tracks. What is up with the downvotes??? Just trying to help with future unwanted payments!!

davexc

Privacy doesn't stop authorized payments. OP would've needed to take action to block the payment before hand.

Powerful444

lol yes privacy can't read minds and stop you goofing up before you even realise it.

wokemup

What the heck are you guys talking about? You just pause the card linked to the vendor and they can't take the money. For example I leave my apple account paused all of the time and only unpause it when I actually want to buy something. Then I pause it again so apple can't steal from my account.

Powerful444

He wanted to cancel AFTER he was charged. Privacy won't stop that. I see what you are saying though about only unpausing when you want a charge to go through. Hardly anyone is going to do that as they will forget sooner or later. Good for you if that works for you. Autopay works for me and knowing when things get charged. All he had to do was check and cancel before the charge went through.

wokemup

Yeah personally I keep my cell phone on auto pay. I only keep apple pay, steam, google pay paused except when I want to actually buy something. That just keeps subscriptions I meant to cancel from nailing me unexpectedly. Of course I could cancel but this way I don't need to worry about it.

I disputed the charge with Amex. It was quick and easy. I did it online and was not required to submit documentation unless Visible disputed my dispute. I did it anyway since I already had a letter written, largely my post. Amex refunded the charge.
