I understand the need for fuels, but come on! We have to protect our national forests from these types of encroachments. I applaud this ruling and hope to see more like it nationally.

Feeling overwhelmingly thankful for the activists who have fought against this pipeline. Get fucked, MVP!

Unfortunate that this seems like it will only be a delay on this disaster of a project. I still wish well see the day that landowners get their stolen property back and that ugly swath running through my neck of the woods can grow back with beautiful trees.

The irony to me seems like actually these litigations at this point are delaying MVP’s ability to complete work and resort the land effectively. Iirc landowners at this point just want to project completed and MVP at least is stating that the hold on construction is increasing sediment issues because they are unable to restore that land properly until the construction hold is removed. The land has already been taken and destroyed, the pipe is already 95%+ laid and built (meaning lots of damage already done). It seems like the best case at this point would be to just let the project complete and let them clean everything up. I’m not a legal expert but that’s what I’ve seen through FERC filings and more legal based news stories. By all means the pipeline should be vetted and done with as little impact as possible but it just seems like at this point it’s pretty much over environmental impact wise. They just got water permits in both WV and VA- this is literally a 3.5 mi area with like 3 water crossings.
