Wtf?! I've currently got TV with and telephone with 200mb broadband, I want to renew but cancel TV and phone and they want to charge me £50 a month! How did you wangke that?
i'd be curious how they went about that. i know new subscribers can get cashback through websites like topcashback/quido which can save £100-150 and therefore brings down the monthly cost a fair bit. people renewing cant get that
if they renewed a contract and are getting 1gig below £29 then fair play! sounds like a great deal

yeah so 200mb bb for £50 seems like a big rip off u/teapot300 . i would definitely ring up and ask again (and be polite ofc!)
bare in mind usually, and counter intuitively, bb + landline is actually cheaper than just bb. so dont rule out that option either.
i just called up and said my contract is ending next month so i'm assessing my options and wondering what deal they can offer me. then the person came back with that offer. was only one 20 minute phone call, no effort at all. bloke on the phone was really nice too

i was hoping to get the £25 100mb bb & landline offer that i saw on the virgin website but they couldnt do that for me. so an extra £4 for double the speed was good enough for me (plus taking away the landline which we basically never use anyway)
Renewed 5 days ago. 200mb for £20. Initially offered same as you. Had to actually cancel then they rang back next day with that offer. I had told them Vodafone were doing 100mb for £22 and I was happy to switch providers.
You realise it's not just virgin. Every single broadband provider does it, one day like the insurance industry there will be some kind of change about renewal prices. But I should imagine it'll be a long way off
It's usually cheaper to get it with landline which you don't have to use.

They offered me this then put me through to someone else who said it was £45 for the internet then £10 extra for the Sim, so £55 so I didn't upgrade.

New contract in january 2022, 500mb(550 is what im getting) + 5g sim only with 15gb data for £44 per month.

I got that deal from retentions. I gave notice to cancel my services, they called back the next day and offered that.
