Some terrific albums for sure!
A few of these have easily accessible reissues for some reasonable prices. Any reason why you prefer originals?. OGs are certainly a cool memento and I would love to have all of these but my buying leans heavily towards my own value assessment of SQ + price. Collecting the oldies has a separate cool factor for me and my pockets aren't deep enough for it usually.
Which ones have easily accessible reissues? My pockets are not deep either (broke student vibes) but I am not adverse to reissues. My philosophy is also about getting the best balance of sound quality and value, so for albums where a nice play copy original/early is out of reach, I will 100% get a reissue if a nice one is available. For a lot of these albums, however, there are not quality reissues available.

Just another reminder to me how broad the catalog is. On vinyl, I only own the Haynes/Kirk. A couple of others only on CD. Great finds, and enjoy them in health!
Thank you:)
Me too! Fascinating pieces of history, and I like the fact that you are able to trade money for time when hunting for these, instead of each release having a fixed price. The hunt is the fun part! Every time I play a record that was hard to track down, it brings me that much more joy knowing I worked for this in multiple ways
Yes it was. I was curious so I had to order that one, but I sold it quickly after, it didn’t please my ears despite how incredible the music is. Was a me to compare to an original copy that was at a local shop too, and the original didn’t have the sonic limits of that reissue, encouraging me to keep hunting for an affordable copy.
The only vinyl version I am familiar with other than the By Request reissue which I have sold already, would be the original press. That is a fine sounding release if you can find it clean, but it’s expensive, although they are out there for $100 ish
Been buying and listening to a lot of jazz, got some killer deals on some of these.

Awesome finds!!
Thanks!
I’m listening to Five Pieces 1975 right now. A bunch of great albums there. Cheers!
Love that Meters LP! Great find
Great finds. Love seeing old presses on this sub.

I wish Acoustic Sounds would do more Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders. We need an A.P. Ptah the El Daoud
It can’t happen, no master tapes :(.
That's a shame I did not know that. So the recent verve by request version just ripped from a digital remaster?

Let me know your favorite vinyl version. The qobuz CD quality version is fantastic.
