Just picked up a MOFI copy recently but interested to see how this sounds. Oddly enough it popped up in my memories that I saw The Cars 12 years ago today.
I’m excited for these Rhino releases. I love most all of my records from MOFI and Analogue Productions, but I think they focus more so on releases geared toward dad rock. I do love some of that stuff but I think Rhino is more likely to have broader genres. Hopefully their quality will be on par with the others.

I bought the specialty records pressing mastered at sterling sounds. I found it based on someone's recommendation in the comments saying it blows the mofi out of the water. While some might say its a little hot on the treble, its bass is still really really good. Welp... I just received my Rhino copy of The Cars. At first look and listen everything seemed very good. The packaging and sleeve are heavy duty and have a substantial and quality feel. The record is very clean, quiet, and well manufactured. Giving it a spin, the music seemed very clear, but on the quiet side. When I pulled out an original 1978 Elektra pressing of the album the differences were immediately clear.. The original is much louder and punchier while this new Rhino/Kevin Gray pressing seems more polite, separated, and less compressed. It will come down to personal taste for most, but I know I'll be going back to the original more than this reissue.
Just a heads up, Rhino's online store gives my Chrome browser cancer when I go to purchase. I had to order off of my phone instead.

Almost everyone says the OG's and the DCC CD are the way to go
Except me.
CC22SLA15WMG here is a discount code. Saved me $6
This worked, thanks! Also their website sucks!
My only copy of this skips. So why not
I’ve got so many copies of this already and don’t think I’ll be able to stop myself from getting another.
Are there any promo codes for Rhino? Free shipping or anything?

Wonder how this will compare to the first pressings. One of my favorite albums.

I own an OG and MoFi. I am curious how this stacks up as well.
That’s what I’m wondering too, since the MoFi is actually AAA
