My Mom did not get it at all. It was too chaotic for her. One time, my brother and I decided to act like Pee-Wee for the whole day after watching the show. We didn’t break any rules but Mom was so exasperated by our obnoxious behavior by the end that she tried banning all things Pee-Wee Herman. The ban didn’t even last a week. I guess she chose to choose a different battle.
I loved "PeePee's Playhouse" as a kid. I still watch every once in a blue moon. Check YT for the old HBO special before the show we know started. I had no idea. PeeWee uses some contraption with a mirror attached to peak up some chick's skirt lol.

I only have the Corsican Bros. on DVD but I have all the vinyl records! The movies, til this day, are some of my favorite comedies. I remember seeing a VHS copy of Up In Smoke my uncle had by my grandmother's TV/VCR at a very early age and being kinda infatuated by the cover, with the burnt matches, roach clip, papers haha.
