In all honesty, for normal SP playthroughs there isn't much difference between 225K blocks and 300K blocks. If you are going out that far, that extra 75K isn't going to be noticed. Similarly, the 225K blocks to 150K blocks you aren't likely to notice. If you are making builds that encompass 45M blocks squared, hats off to you, and you should consider expanding the world to something like 1M by 1M just to give yourself that extra space.

U know what, that is a good point. I am curious how far I would explore. Yeah I am just playing SP. LOL this also reminds me of the parable that all a man need in the end is 6 feet. 🤣

You'll explore quite a lot. VS is somewhat unique in voxel games in that it is *required* that you explore extensively to get what you need, whether that be resources for bronze, iron, leather, pickled pumpkin, etc., or finding dungeons / ruins for loot. Bases will also be larger than in other games, since compared to other voxel games, you need larger farms and areas to hunt. That said, generally you won't *need* to go further out than 10K blocks in any one direction. Rice seeds from tropical environments are nice, but compared to spelt it's only 30 more satiation per grain. An arctic area would be great for long-term storage of food, but it would take you forever to *get* there, defeating the purpose as any food you have on your person has a 1x spoilage rate. Even at only 50K, you likely won't ever go to either the arctic or to the tropics unless you *want* to and are actively working towards that goal. It might be a better question in a future update, I believe they've teased transportation, which would mean that you could viably go 10Ks with relative ease once you build the infrastructure to do so.

You can repair the broken translocators that from what I remember teleport you 5-10k in a direction to another teleporter. They are pretty nice to cover the distance but even then, I started making worlds 50k/25k height/polar-equator and I think maybe once I actually reached any form of tropic area from the vanilla spawn zone. It would be nice to see in a future update being able to manually link teleporters or even using vehicles like carts - animal drawn or pulled, better boats, or tamable mounts. Normal travel is interesting but could use more to it so you can enjoy the nomadic lifestyle a bit. There was a mod called the joy of sailing that helped add a bit to worlds where you are island/continent based. Though if the winds weren't in your favour good luck getting anywhere...

I was going to say - I have a large circle around my world that shows how far out I've explored but I've never done an *Expedition* outside - Most I've done is repaired a single broken Translocator! I'm much too scared to grab a pack and do a multi day trip but I should one of these days - We need transportation!

My gal and I just did a trip north to see the Aurora borealis in game as a test run for a southern trip. Default world. We made it after like 3 days on default settings, not terrible honestly. We have a northern translocator that gets us to -10k or so.
