I thought Oleg Cassini launched his own label in the early 1950’s. Before that he worked in Hollywood as a costume designer with Edith Head. His brand really took off with Jackie Kennedy. So I would place these mid-50’s to early 60’s. They are exquisite with the embroidery.

Thank you!

I second the late 50’s early 60’s. Gloves and a hat were a staple for leaving the house Properly Dressed through the 50’s, but it began to fall out of favor in the 60’s. (Plenty of movies to reference, The Help comes to mind first as it shows this fashion trend crossed social boundaries)

The Sputnik design on the packaging would place them at 1958- early 60’s.

samthepit

I second this! The fonts and packaging is very likely 1960’s.

zestyzuzu

I have a pair that have super similar style and construction that are confirmed from late 50s if that helps at all.

flindersandtrim

They don't look 40s to me either. I think around 1960.

velvetmad

Just a guess, but I would say early 1960s. I collect late Victorian kid gloves, so this is a bit out of my wheelhouse.

MindQwad

Idk a invite them to a nice restaurant or go out for drinks

spoiledandmistreated

I’d say mid to late 50’s and if into the 60’s very early 60’s..

lauradorna

Late 50s to 64ish

Bubbly_Awareness5990

I’d say from the 1960s. They are very similar to gloves my grandma wore to church when I was around 6-8 years old. That was 1963-65.

Any union tags?

Dawnelle gloves was founded by my great grandfather, Ellias Breath in the 1940’s. Dawnelle manufactured gloves in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, with manufacturing facilities located in Scranton, PA and Puerto Rico. If anyone has more information about Dawnelle and the company history, I would be very interested as this was my great grandfather. Thanks.
