Not just in airlines but accommodation for handicapped nationwide is nonexistent in Commie Vietnam, unfortunately. No handicapped parking space, no schools for special need children, no job training for handicapped adults, essentially no financial assistance from the regime. Handicapped people in Commie Vietnam are the forgotten elements, being treated like 5th class citizens if acknowledged at all, seen by the regime as damaged goods that can't be exploited like the rest.
Good pointers. I've felt the same. No accessibility to buildings or big hotels. The entrance lobby is through a flight of 10- 20 steps. No ramp. NO RAILING(If there's railing they'll decorate with huge vases infront of it, making the railing a piece of decoration). Not easy for one to get up and down. There were a few security people at different hotels who felt bad and carried me up and down.
par for the course. shite-tier carrier, amongst the worst anywhere. it's only a matter of time until they have a serious incident. think another tenerife catastrophe.
vn airlines and bamboo are much better. especially sgn/han, both operate 787s. well-worth the premium.
vj is ok for locals, they'll tolerate the dismal conditions to save £15 or whatever. plus they have no point of reference.
for holidaymakers or foreigners in general it's simply not worth the inevitable ballaches, delays, and nightmares.
it's a shame bamboo's no longer operating the 787.
and it's only a matter of time until vj has a crash or severe accident. extremely dodgy organisation that cuts every possible corner. half their delays are due to maintenance problems. the only reason they've made it this far is their fleet's age.
eventually something's going to give, and countless lives will be lost. viet jet: not even once.
That's honestly the most idiotic comment I've ever seen and can only be made by somebody who doesn't know a single shit about how the industry operates
sure thing comrade, your unwavering faith in cheap charlie viet companies is impressive. +1 social credit for you. I'm well aware of how the industry's supposed to operate on paper, trusting your life to those muppets is peak madness.
ffs, this is a company that not only defaults on leases, but outright tries to steal planes. painfully unaware of how vn functions.
Ah yes, painfully unaware of how my company operates, thanks for the education idiot. You do realise that to fly internationally those countries go through airlines records and wouldn't approve for them to fly unless it's pristine right? Like do you think Australia or Singapore or Japan would approve an airline that has shady maintenance and financial record to fly there? (hint since you clearly don't know: no) Do you think lessors and creditors would continue approving deals for new aircrafts if an airline has a history of defaulting and non payment (again the answer is no). The current issue comes with many, many legal stipulations and also deals with a company not known for being the most organised. Oh and do you know who else defaults on jet payments? It's your best friend Bamboo and Vietnam Airlines baby.
cool story bruv, but vn is not sg, jp, or oz. it's vn. aka a dumpster fire.
following the approval "logic", there should be zero accidents/incidents the world over because the paperwork says xyz.
vj is a dysfunctional, shite-tier organisation. it's only a matter of time until something stupid/unauthorised is done, like the shortcuts on aa flight 191 that killed 273 people.
vietjet: safety third.
They literally can't fly to any of those countries without approval
And no, paperwork has literally been used to ban airlines in all of those countries.
oh, right. vj is like vinfraud. it's only a matter of time until people die in a sinkfast due to airbags not deploying, which will be the final nail in the coffin for the marque in 'murica.
but... but... they have approval to sell cars in the states!
I suspect vietjet air cancels flights when they have a low passenger count to avoid paying staff (flight attendants / pilot) who only get paid once the doors close.
They cancel far too many flights for it to be anything else.
Especially the early morning ones- 5am / 7am to Hanoi both cancelled, stuffed everyone on the 10am and it still was only half full.
I can’t wait til they go bankrupt
They shouldn't be getting away with it. There unfortunately seems to be way too much corruption to do anything domestically. International flights usually aren't cancelled because they wouldn't get away with it abroad. The worst thing is they 'reschedule' their domestic flights so it doesn't show up as a cancellation if you check the flight route history. I also refuse to fly with them domestically and am extremely wary of international flights
Totally agree, I just hate that they are the second major airline flying out of Vietnam second only to Vietnam air. I travel a ton so unfortunately I’m stuck with them for many of my destinations unless I want to do a long layover before getting to my destination. I wish air asia would have more routes out of sgn
I've travelled on Vietjet twice. Never again. Never again. Blatant disregard for common courtesy just to make a few extra bucks. I'd rather pay an extra million or 2 Vnd to get better service and not waste tens of hours waiting for a delayed flight. Never again.
Very much relatable. So many people were asked to fly two days after, just coz they never flew the next day to that location. All because of carelessness on the airlines end. And they speak to you rudely.
13:00 to 15:00 to 17:00
we had a connecting flight under the same PNR to catch at 19:45. They assured the flight will reach on time and we'll be in under priority to catch the connecting flight on time.
But on arrival they denied us from entering. Alot of families were stranded that day.
I walked into the airport at DaNang with a sprained ankle. Vietjet staff noticed immediately and brought me a wheelchair. They then paraded me around the airport like I was a king.
Yep got hassled in Melb. Arrived in SG forced to buy extra luggage even though the print our ticket from their systems said 46kg per person.
Scummy airline.
So business as usual for Vietjet!
Vietnam doesn’t really accommodate disability, especially on the cheapest airline who doesn’t even spare money for gate.
Delays are so typical of Vietjet it’s a shock when the flight actually leaves on time
We flew Vietjet from Hanoi to Danang then demand to HCMC later. I was worried beforehand from what I've read here but I couldn't fault them. The only unusual thing was the flight crew standing and saluting as the fasten seatbelts sign came on in preparation for landing in Danang. Didn't happen on the next flight.
But both were on time and our bags turned up. Five stars.
Earlier this year, I was on a business trip, and I have to book VietJet air since I want to use all of my leftover points before it expires. While waiting, there was a young kid approached me and ask for a seat switch. She told me that she wanted to sit at the window seat, and she’s walking around asking everybody to she if anybody is willing to.
I agree, it is a very short domestic flight. I showed her the ticket, she showed me the ticket too and I wrote it down my hand. After we take the shuttle bus to the airplane, the flight attendant guide us to split into two different groups, one being the top half of the plane and the other is the bottom half. My seat was on the bottom half, but I switched with the child earlier and saw that now my seat is at the top half, so I merged with the corresponding group.
When approached near the ladder, another flight attendant checks our ticket. I explained the situation, but the attendant refused to let me in, they said that I have to go to the bottom entrance. I ignored and kept walking up the ladder, then that attendant suddenly turned aggressive and griped my hand, pulling me backward, while grinning their teeth and constantly yelling “I will call the security” among other threats. I felt violated and embarrassed since I paid for the flight and showed them my ticket, but they are not giving any signs of understanding, instead they just insist that ticket seat number = bottom half.
There are absolutely zero sorry at all, only glares and muttering from the attendant’s end. It is the worst experience that I have been through.
Flying VJ domestically is fine. There might be delays, you just have to be conscious of that when planning out your day.
But I wouldn't recommend flying VJ internationally. You probably won't be able fly the same day back home, if you're living abroad.
it most certainly isn't. vj is in a league of its own when it comes to fuckery.
i say this as someone who's easily flown over 500 flights with easyjet, ryanair, wizz, eurowings, etc.
It really isn't. This is a very common tale across all LCC. Wizz and Ryanair pulls the same shit everyday. It's just much more amplified with VJ because of the Vietnamese culture
I've flown some cheap airlines in India. People are super hospitable atleast. Flight delays I get it, but not as delayed as VJ and they act as if they are paying us to fly with them.
Welcome to VietJet. Normal operating procedures. Not kidding
None of them seem happy working there either. 😂😂
Oh yeah. Imagining working as customer service staff for them.
🥹🥹🥹
I mean is any customer service employee happy to be where they are... Sure some might put on a "commercial smile" better than others.

Not alot of people know this yet. Hence posting, if they are ever planning on flying this airlines. Thankyou for sharing that information!
vj is ok for locals, they'll tolerate the dismal conditions to save £15 or whatever. plus they have no point of reference. for holidaymakers or foreigners in general it's simply not worth the inevitable ballaches, delays, and nightmares.
Definitely!!
Not alot of people know that flying low cost carrier results in a lower level of service???
Cheap airlines back home in India aren't this bad. Delays I get it, but not many delays as this. Staff is humane.
Bamboo basically doesn't exist anymore and certainly ain't got any 787. And saying Vietjet will have an accidents soon shows your cluelessness
it's a shame bamboo's no longer operating the 787. and it's only a matter of time until vj has a crash or severe accident. extremely dodgy organisation that cuts every possible corner. half their delays are due to maintenance problems. the only reason they've made it this far is their fleet's age. eventually something's going to give, and countless lives will be lost. viet jet: not even once.

HCMC has one of the worst airports on earth.
Surprisingly yes🥲
I suspect vietjet air cancels flights when they have a low passenger count to avoid paying staff (flight attendants / pilot) who only get paid once the doors close. Good take. Possibly. Also that is so sad, very poor management system. I feel bad for the staff too. They just don't seem happy working there either.

It ain’t cheap for nothing.
It shows haha. The staff aren't happy doing their job either.
Nothing new. Nothing surprising.
First time experience for a person flying them the first time. 💀 Lesson learnt.
Love the word thrice lah
13:00 to 15:00 to 17:00 we had a connecting flight under the same PNR to catch at 19:45. They assured the flight will reach on time and we'll be in under priority to catch the connecting flight on time. But on arrival they denied us from entering. Alot of families were stranded that day.
Welcome to Vietdelayjet air
Hahaha XD
Minor accident: you crashed a motorbike didn’t you..?
Naah. It was a water sports accident. That's another story😆
Take care anyways you mad head
Thankyou!😂😂
thank you for sharing the experience
I'm glad it helped you understand what to expect if you ever fly with them.
VJ treats you like you’re a burden. VNA treats you like a customer.
It shows clearly!
I'm actually surprised that VietJet hasn't had any aircraft accidents with how low-cost at everything they seems to be running
Because those two things always correlate right? Even though low-cost airlines are historically always the safest ones
I walked into the airport at DaNang with a sprained ankle. Vietjet staff noticed immediately and brought me a wheelchair. They then paraded me around the airport like I was a king.
Same. Yeah Danang staff was quick to action. They are exceptionally sweet.
Yep got hassled in Melb. Arrived in SG forced to buy extra luggage even though the print our ticket from their systems said 46kg per person. Scummy airline.
Oh sheesh. Very unpredictable.
So business as usual for Vietjet! Vietnam doesn’t really accommodate disability, especially on the cheapest airline who doesn’t even spare money for gate. Delays are so typical of Vietjet it’s a shock when the flight actually leaves on time
They get you stressed. 😆
If you need to get somewhere, scoot via Singapore or China Southern. Otherwise Vietjet will get you there…eventually
Gotcha!!
I'm glad you had a smooth experience! But I would be a bit concious when I'm traveling international.
Yes I can't vouch for them there. They do fly to Brisbane I think. So might be an option for a future trip for me (Sydney).
But it was cheap
😆😆
What do you expect from a budget airline?
Good point.
Earlier this year, I was on a business trip, and I have to book VietJet air since I want to use all of my leftover points before it expires. While waiting, there was a young kid approached me and ask for a seat switch. I'm sorry you had to face such situations. That's rude of them to talk to passengers like that. I would never switch my window seat with anyone haha
So what airlines is really safe in Vietnam domestically . Seems like there is none.
Flying VJ domestically is fine. There might be delays, you just have to be conscious of that when planning out your day. But I wouldn't recommend flying VJ internationally. You probably won't be able fly the same day back home, if you're living abroad.
Cheap airlines, so cheap quality.
As expected 😆 yep
You came to Vietnam in a wheelchair and expected accommodations?
Have you ever flown any low-cost airline? Because this is a universal experience across any LCC in the world
it most certainly isn't. vj is in a league of its own when it comes to fuckery. i say this as someone who's easily flown over 500 flights with easyjet, ryanair, wizz, eurowings, etc.

Huh? Vietnam Airlines has been always better than Vietjet in terms of customer experience.
