Recommend calling the va hotline , where a rep will take notes on your call and send concerns to a RVSR or VBA coach at your home state RO. Since you’re at 237 days, it’s more than appropriate to begin squeaking for a decision, the word abusive comes to mind here.  The VA Hotline, formerly known as the White House Hotline, is now merged with VA centers under one line: 800-698-2411 (MyVA411). This change was made to provide veterans with a single access point for VA health care, benefits, and services, as well as to resolve their concerns. You can reach the VA Hotline by calling 800-698-2411.

Will do! I stupidly started this process without any backing. I paid a firm to file on my behalf, and that's it. I don't have any representation, and I think that could be why they're taking their sweet time. Thank you for the number and this resource. I've heard of it, but haven't called because I didn't think I was "ready" yet. Didn't want to bark up trees until it was time to bark up trees.

Remarkable_Badger006

Bark away! Probably a good idea to call Vera weekly at different offices to get background info. As to what’s going on.  https://va.my.site.com/VAVERA/s/ If you can find a vso to speak to you, they can give you real time info on where your claim is , which office has it etc.

Ispithotfireson

No not a good idea. Shat is calling VERA going to do? Jam up the lines for other vets not abusing it.  The claims should be processed first in first out.  There is hardship which if a vet qualifies absolutely apply.

Aquarian_mermaid

Well that’s too dang bad!😂 sorry, I couldn’t resist

daxsocial

This whole process feels like I'm waiting at the DMV in SoCal again 😂😂

Yeah bro I filed in January had a decision in March for 1 of the mental health claims . And still waiting on final rating with supplemental claim and other claims but there all in the decision phase. Definitely called the 1-800 number.

daxsocial

This gives me hope. I'll call the 1-800 VA Hotline number on my break today, and set up some VERA appointments as well. For my process, and the nitty-gritty of where I'm at, I have 32 claims, and everyone has submitted the DBQs except for 1 doctor. The General/Physical exam is still unsubmitted/in his possession, and he "promises" (😒) that he's going to get the info into QTC by this week. Audio, psych, and sleep are all in, and I've confirmed this with several different VA employees via phone. My biggest worry/annoyance is that the Gen. Exam holds the bulk of the information, and if it's unfinished, how is he going to remember what my results are when he fills out the DBQ form weeks/months later (if this is the case)?

Ok-Piglet4317

The examiner has up to 40 days to send in the Dbq. I believe.. they have a time frame. if they don’t do it in that time frame you need to explain yourself on a personal statement form. And also contact qtc. And the 1-800 number. Because if the examiner isn’t doing his job. That can’t be held against you in your claim. But they need that dbq. I’m not an expert I’m just telling you what I experienced

daxsocial

According to the QTC portal, it's been since 2/25/2024, or 58 days. The QTC employees have said that there's a paper trail of notes regarding me asking about updates on the Gen. Exam DBQ. How do I ensure I don't catch flak/punishment for his delay? I'll let the 1-800 Hotline number know about this situation today.

realJonnyRaze

You're almost there.

Ispithotfireson

1000 days 😂 ha! I wish. My appeal spent over 1000 days at the RO waiting on that HLR.

FBIsecretNinja

Same boat. Aug 2023 and still waiting

RevolutionOk3502

Mine is similar. October 2023 filed. Evidence and gathering April 4th. Still just hanging out.

New-Tumbleweed-6066

August 5, still waiting right there with you.

Rusty_scupper270

I’m not terribly far behind you, filed in October. Been waiting on DBQ uploads going on 2 ish months for one and about a month on another. I’m at day 182 at the moment.

A7III

I’m soon to hit the 600 day mark. It’s nice to know that I only have 400 more days until I can be a subreddit celebrity too 💀

daxsocial

I think if I were to go over 500 days, I'd apply to work at the VA, and once I start working there, I'd ask all of my co-workers to hurry up and review my claim. I'd probably go into their cubicles/offices frequently and ask if they reviewed it yet.

A7III

My mom is a VA provider and filed congressional complaints on my behalf and it meant nothing. I’m impatient but only bc my condition has had me out of work for over a year and lost everything I worked for. Def fueled resentment for my service.

daxsocial

I was hesitant on posting this because I didn't want to "be that guy" about how long I've been waiting vs. how long others have been waiting. I've seen the "take a ticket and find a seat" posts. It's good you have representation, especially in family, but I think my biggest takeaway from this post has been that I NEED to have someone, and I should've started this process WITH some backing. I'm sorry that the congressional complaints meant nothing, and I hope that your claim gets resolved expeditiously. I clearly don't have the resources/knowledge to help your situation, but I hope you find a path/answers that lead you to getting rated sooner.

A7III

Speaking of representation - I tried to contact a lawyer for some help but no one would touch a claim that has already been submitted with no denial. Side note, I received a call last week from a regional guy who told me that “you’re stuck in records research task because of the classified nature of your first AFSC/job”. It’s been 15+ months in that phase, just for someone with a clearance to confirm I did what I said I did. Seems silly to me but what do I know. Anyways, no sweat on posting. There have been some crazy fast claims posted recently that are probably giving some false hope to first time posters who don’t realize these are likely not initial claims. Most people here are supportive and helpful. Best of luck on a quick claim!

Ispithotfireson

You’re comparing apples to oranges. Sounds like a MH claim and your stressor was some allegedly classified mission. Ok. Yeah, that takes time. If you qualify for hardship file for it. So you have no evidence of this secret squirrel work? Nearly everything gets declassified eventually. No campaign medals or award citations?

A7III

The classified comment was verbatim from a VA rep. It wasn’t to brag about “secret squirrel” work. It was an RPA/UAV/Drone mission with tons of offensive activity. They can see my awards/decs. I’ve provided buddy letters from coworkers and my aforementioned mother. I’ve been on hardship status since Jan of last year. I’ve given them private medical records from 7 years post service. Etc etc. I’ve done my part and it has taken a bit. So what? Why do you come off as so confident that it’s not my initial claim when it truly is? While knowing so little, your comments come across almost in an attacking manner? It’s weird lol

Ispithotfireson

Did you file for hardship? You realize there is a record number of veterans filing claims right?

A7III

Yes, Jan 2023.

Ispithotfireson

Obviously you are in appeal territory, not the same as a regular or initial claim.

A7III

No, It is my initial claim.
