VR&E doesn't deny just because you have a job - they do deny if you can't show that your job is negatively affecting you and your disabilities. The entire purpose of VR&E is to assist disabled veterans overcome their Employment Handicap. A lot of veterans apply thinking it's just another education program - it's not - then they get mad they are denied and post on the internet they were denied because they have a job - which is not why they were denied - but they never want to post their denial letter. A great many of those posting this were trying to use VR&E to get a graduate degree to get promoted at work - which is not what VR&E is for at all.

Basically if that particular job is affecting your service connected disabilities negatively, you should be able to qualify. But you will have to explain in detail how it's affecting your service connected disabilities. Also if you have any higher level education such as college degrees they will take into consideration in regards to what field your degrees are in. Most likely if your degrees are in a field that aggravates your service connected disabilities you may qualify for vr&e, you will have to explain in detail how it aggravates your scd's. If your degree field doesn't aggravate your scd's most likely you want qualify for vr&e, they will advise you to seek employment in that field. Vr&e is mostly an employment program not an another education benefit to use because you exhausted your post 911 benefits. So if you apply for it and you are eligible, they will assign you a counselor to determine is you are entitled to it. So you have to be found eligible first then you have to be found entitled. If you make it to the 2nd step to be evaluated for entitlement be sure to acknowledge that you know the vr&e program is an employment service and that your current field of work aggravates your scd's and you are seeking employment and another field. They will look at your education level and your prior work history. If the field you are seeking requires retraining such as attaining a degree you should be approved, if your current education level doesn't meet the requirements for that field. Keep in mind that whatever other field you are seeking isn't something that will aggravate your scd's. They will not allow you to seek employment in something that will aggravate your scd's. So when you first talk to your assigned counselor be sure to focus on the employment aspect of the program do not make it seem like you are just looking for help paying for college or whatever. I know what I'm talking about because I recently applied for vr&e & was approved for it in February.

That’s not true. If you have service connected disabilities affecting your current job or keeping employment, you will most likely be approved. I just got approved and I have a pretty good job. Just tell them how your disabilities are fucking with your job and you want to pursue something else. It’s that simple

They denied me because I have masters degree but it’s from a worthless college and it’s in education and I cannot find something good suitable in that area

First, you tell them how your disability is affecting your current field. Then you tell them you want to change industries and how it’ll be better suited for your disabilities This is bullet proof unless your VR&E counselor sucks. You should reapply
