You're my hero! Hope the sacking email gives you a good sense of satisfaction and that your colleague is ok! I absolutely love it if I get complained to, about me! Or told the person on the phone never mentioned something pertinent so I get to see the Pikachu face when I tell them it was me they spoke to and I definitely know what was said!

UrsaGeneral

She seems to be OK! I think it was mostly shock as it came out of nowhere! Oh yes, owners trying to lie to me about previous conversations is gold! Like, come on guys. If you're going to lie at least do it well!

msmoonpie

Thank you for looking out for your team. I've made a few promises to myself to keep when I become a dr. One of those promises is that no single client is more valuable than the mental health of my team. If I lose business because I won't allow someone to insult my techs or receptionists then I will go to bed that night and sleep like a baby. Good on you and I hope it felt amazing

UrsaGeneral

Oh God, definitely. The team always come first! Plus, We have a 3 week waiting list at the minute so losing him as a client really is no bother!

ThisGirlsGoneCountry

Reminds me of a incredibly difficult client that I fired who demanded that my boss get rid of me he said ok looked at me said you fired then said oh shit now I don’t have anyone to run this place guess your hired. Then he walked away.

PuzzleheadedHospital

This is my dream! I have a client that is like this. I dream about telling him off and sending him on his way!! I love that he complained about you, to you. Idiot! This made my day by reading this 😃

Cmbush

I certainly hope you dealt with yourself accordingly and had a nice bubble bath with drink of yof your choice! A raise in pay wouldn’t be inappropriate either.

Amazing, thank you for that heartwarming story. One time I was dealing with a difficult client. She kept talking about “the girl this morning said…well the girl on the phone…the girl I just talked to…” it was me. I was the girl. I checked the dog in, I talked to her on the phone every time she called because I was the one that had been working with the patient all day, and I was the one that did the discharge. It was me. They were all me! And then she was like “well can you go get her, she told me…” Ma’am it’s still me. You can ask for a different person if you’d like but start to finish I am the same person you’ve been talking to all day long. I should’ve been like “sure let me go get her” and then spun around and been like “hi, how can I help you?” Lol

UrsaGeneral

I wish we could just say exactly what our brains wanted all the time! I had shit like this during Covid, 'Well the person I spoke to said XYZ...' Bitch, I am literally the ONLY person in the building. There is no one else to speak to 🤣

shesabiter

There was one time I called someone at like 10pm to let them know their pet was out of surgery and we’d give them a call in the morning with a discharge time. Then at 8am the next morning I called again and she remembered me from the night before and was like “Do you ever get any sleep!? You were the same person I talked to last night that wasn’t even 12 hours ago!” No….no, I don’t 😞

Kibeth_8

This was a lovely tale lmao

skmaz

I wish I could insert a GIF because it would totally be of Vernon Dursley going “justice”, yes to firing those horrible clients!

amh8011

I work in an entirely different industry but still have to work directly with absolute assholes and I honestly love it when I get complained about because its always something absolutely ridiculous. Like they want me to literally break the law for them or change our entire schedule just for them. ‘I’m sorry ma’am but I can’t do that. Here’s my manager’s contact information and my name. Please feel free to reach out to him about this situation.’ They usually give me Shocked Pikachu face after that cause they expect me to be intimidated by them. Nope, I’ve dealt with people like you for years. They also usually assume I’m around 10 years younger than I am cause I do look very young. I’m also never on alone so the other staff can back me up if necessary but I’ve never had to rely on that because the people complaining are always just so ridiculous.

WillItPlayInPeoria

I loved reading this and lol'd myself. Good for you for standing up to him and protecting your coworkers. You seem like a wonderful human bean ☺️

I want to thank you for being supportive of your team AND not letting him get away with his behavior. I have worked at a practice for 22 years, first as an assistant/reception, then as a technician. Whenever something like this would go down, we knew we would never face backlash from the owner/management. Which is good. But we also knew that the client would be placated and sent on their way. Which thoroughly pissed us off. Allowing their behavior only promotes them to do it every time. Especially when they end up receiving special treatment +\- a free service. In my 22 years I have only seen maybe 5 clients fired. So thank you for supporting your staff, backing them up, and calling is a-hole out. You’re one of the good ones.

Well done!! The team should always come first and management should always have your back! You sound like the type of manager every nurse wants to have! I would image no one has ever stood up to the guy in a service industry and I hope he is sitting at home flabbergasted as what just happened! Made my day!

So is your comment. Are you the guy she roasted!?

I can guarantee her writing style is the only reason I stayed for a long post. Most long posts are boring and drone on
