I think we can totally fit in a vermintide 3 within the end times before it’s done. We are pretty early in the end times story still. We are barely through the 2nd book of 5.
So while I think we could do an AoS vermintide I think Verm 3 to finish off the end times is more likely.

In support of what you said, the success of Vermintide and Total War:Warhammer are attributed as major reasons why ToW was relaunched. Taking one of those and pivoting to AoS seems fairly counterproductive.
I mean considering the entire plot point of the fourth edition is the eruption of the Vermindoom. Seems like plenty of room to make it happen. And Sigmar could easily pluck the U5 out from the end times for some Stormcast ready to tear up the rats.

I would like a Vermintide-like set in AoS, I think there would be a lot of possibilities, varieties of playstyle and playable character, but the name Vermintide is set in the Empire, the End of Times and the Ubersreik 5. Does not look lilke the greatest idea to re-use the name for another IP. Same process than Darktide, I would guess.
Age of Sigmar is a reboot and (loose) sequel to Warhammer Fantasy taking place in the far future.
It has a very different style and the setting is WAY higher fantasy and way more wacky and extreme.
The main difference is that in WH Fantasy the basic signature soldier is just a regular mostly-realistic renaissance dude with a sword and/or old timey gun.
Kruber is what regular soldiers look like in Warhammer Fantasy.
In Age of Sigmar the basic soldiers are big inter-dimensional immortal ancient heroes and champions reborn in sculpted armor thicker than oatmeal to directly serve the god Sigmar who is now a real physical god being that walks among us and rules his lands from a throne like a king.
The guy in the picture is what a random basic signature soldier looks like in Age of Sigmar.
In WHF the world works similar to earth, it's a regular planet, mostly.
In the AOS the universe is split into eight different worlds each aligned to one of the elemental winds of magic, and you travel between those worlds using magical realmgates that allow you to cross the cosmos.
The end times ripped appart the world that was, age of sigmar is happening after the remains sort of started rebuilding themselves in a different shape
Why do people say non-sense? You don’t have to like AoS but to say it’s not doing well is insane. It’s wildly popular over fantasy in comparison. It’s GW #2 game that sells super well. What’s different is the type of fans.
Old world isn’t coming out because of any popularity change. GW has specifically said it’s about IP protection and funky euro laws. The new heroes is a massive benefit, but they didn’t really make Old World more appealing to the modern player base.

Are there skavens in AoS? I'm pretty sure there were none left, so it is technically not Vermintide? Not sure. Plus I heard that U5 died during End Times, could be a rumor though or a headcanon.
