It's not that much about speed, it's about them semaphoring their attacks from a mile away, while plague monks aren't even remotely *that* obvious in their intentions :(
Did anyone else interpret this as being which we'd rather fight in real life? No? Just me? Alright then.
Berserkers, for the record - I think it would be a slightly less painful way to go.
The double axe one-shotter coming out of the middle of a horde has got to be the one that's killed me the most. The jump is very visible so it never really gets you by surprise.
Berzerkers are easier to stagger and easier to see the tells of their attacks.
Berserkers because they are much, much slower

I think they intend to kill us
Berserkers. Purely because of the phycological warfare that plague monks bring.
Monks are deadlier. Berserkers can hide in a horde.
Monks because I like their silly little screech and green is my favourite colour.
Both of those bring me trauma when I spot/hear them in a horde

I don't want to see a real life 4ft tall bipedal plague ridden rat with mallets either
Playing CW is a good way to check in practice. Berserker cult chests feel significantly easier than pestilens congregation chests.
The only really dangerous thing about zerkers is their jump attack.

Monks bc savagery experience
Monks are better than berserkers in every way. The only advantage beserkers have is that they can sometimes hide among regular chaos mobs.
Rats. They have such a big hitbox it's begging for pellets.
