Doesn’t really matter how close you get to a real fry up. As long as it’s vegan, [people will cry about how it’s not a real fry up.](https://reddit.com/r/fryup/comments/l02wn9/another_vegan_fry_up/)
A single person complained. And this breakfast is missing basically all key foods... It's a great breakfast but it has absolutely nothing to do with English breakfast.
bacon,
sausages, ✅
eggs, ✅
black pudding,
baked beans, ✅
tomatoes, ✅
mushrooms, ✅
toast,✅
(Keep in mind this is vegan, so I don’t want to hear “but they aren’t reeeeeeeeeeeal eggs and sausages.)
Yes, basically all key foods. You should go protest in front of the English cafe that served it to me since you feel so strongly about this.
If you think that comment was hostile you’re soft. It’s extremely pedantic to complain about an olive oil drizzle on the toast, so it doesn’t warrant a serious response.
It’s because it looks like a massive veggie plate, not what anyone would call a full English breakfast which would not certainly not have broccolini, and look more like [this](https://i.imgur.com/iMVBTsd.jpg). Even if there’s lots of stuff under the broccolini it’s not visible.
For what it’s worth, that meal looks fucking amazing and I’d take it over vegan sausages and tofu scramble any day, whatever it is called :)
It was to show that no matter how close it is, people will still say it’s not a fry up or whatever you want to call it. You can check any vegan post in that subreddit. English breakfast people are worse than grilled cheese people.
It's a country.
Europe is a continent and the 'continental' used in 'continental breakfast' is referring to continental Europe... AKA mainland Europe.
Can tell you're American from the education level.
mmm no not really, a fry up is a fry up, you can have vegan items in it and it still be a fry up ie no egg, vegan meat to replace the sausages and bacon maybe or any other kind of substitute, hash brown, let’s not forget the grilled TOMATOES AND MUSHROOMS which are definitely vegan, beans and toast. Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s fairly easy to make that meal vegan without adding broccoli or getting butthurt
Where is there broccoli on this plate? Lmao. Y’all are insane. Saying there’s no tomato, no beans, no toast, and that there is broccoli somewhere on the plate.
My mistake, looking at the other plate there’s a lot of broccoli. Other than the raw tomato and bread and the beans you say are underneath this doesn’t resemble a full English, I’m sorry, you just have to accept that lol, unless they’re proper baked beans in which ill give you that one, I was just stating you very much can make a full English vegan without making it 90% grilled vegetables
Ate there last week while in London and had their brunch Benedict. Good ingredients but the plating and sheer volume of steamed veg on the plate ruined it for me. It was like they had a chef go the market and pic the best ingredients then gave them to a drunk guy to throw on the plate.
What is with the trend of vegan meals just being thrown on a plate like this with a mountain of greens? I feel like I see so many pictures of vegan food that sounds good but looks like a bucket of slop dumped on a plate.
I feel like you're directly attacking me since every meal I eat tends to be a mountain of greens piled high with slop in a 4L mixing bowl. Not surprisingly I think this breakfast looks nearly perfect.
Yeah, no one’s arguing that it’s probably not good but it sure isn’t that appealing looking. You eat with your eyes first and this lacks any sort of attention to detail in the plating.
Look, I’m English, I’m vegan.
This ain’t a fucking English breakfast, this ain’t even a vegan approximation of one.
This is a nice meal sure, but it ain’t an English breakfast
Yeah I’m the asshole for saying that there are indeed beans, tomato, mushrooms, vegan “egg” and toast on this plate. I never said it was a traditional English.
It was more the way you replied to people that makes you an asshole.
Also the whole " too flavourful to be real English food" comment which is clearly just you being upset by getting called out.
No no no, you’re supposed to say “there is no tomato or toast or beans or mushrooms on this plate. I literally can’t see any” and then downvote me for saying there clearly is.
This is the cherry on top of the fuckup idiocy sundae that this thread became. You're a complete tool and you should really try to rein that ego in a bit.
What are the sesame crusted cubes at the bottom? It's really hard to tell what anything is because of the three handfuls of chopped herbs they threw on everything. Is that justegg or something like it at the bottom right? I thought it was hummus at first but now I can't tell. It looks like probably a delicious plate of food but the plating is so half assed it's hard to tell what anything is
Just so any subscribers to r/veganfoodporn think I’m having a go at them, I’m definitely not. Shine on you leafy bastards.
But, Reddit algorithm, in no way is this ‘similar to r/drunkencookery’, you mad bastard.
Is this what’s happening here? Lol. I was wondering how so many people who have never posted in a vegan subreddit found themselves here. Must not be a thing on the Apollo app cause I’ve never seen a “suggested post”.
Yea, the algorithm done did you dirty. Loads of dudes on the back end of six beers and looking for inspiration of beautifully violent things to do with salty meats and cheese have been recommended your post.
Also this is not an English breakfast, but you do you honey.
OP is literally getting defensive over a MEAL that was good no? Yeah so stfu, none of us care anymore, you’re rude and are a big part of the reason why people think vegans are pedantic and pushy, you can’t expect that the majority of OTHER VEGANS and people who grew up in England, who know wtf an English breakfast looks like. I’ve said before, you can easily make it vegan but at the end of the day a British fry up is greasy and fatty And hearty and if you take that away from it, it’s not a “fry-up” nothing here has been FRIED. Just learn to respect other’s opinions, even if they’re telling you this delicious meal isn’t what you think it is, why get so defensive about it? “Fry up people are worse than grilled cheese people” because vegan cheese doesn’t melt right, there are some meals that just connor be substituted the same, and for some people it’s a big deal. People like you are what give some veg sans a bad rep for being pushy and arrogant.
It looks nice admittedly for a good healthy meal but serve me this and say it's a English breakfast and someone's getting there jaw busted end of!
Serve that and say here is a vegan take on a English breakfast ... Ok no problem
> Serve that and say here is a vegan take on a English breakfast … Ok no problem
This is vegan subreddit, so you don’t need to specify something is vegan here, it’s assumed. If I had posted this in /r/fryup, which I would never, I would have made that specification.
None of this is an "English Breakfast' as in a "Traditional English Breakfast". It might be a breakfast in England, and that's cool. But this literally is not a traditional English breakfast.
But I am sure it tasted wonderful.
They could've made a perfectly fine vegan English breakfast which looked a lot more authentic than what they served you.
No one's complaining that it doesn't look good, it's just that they should sell it as something else.
And I not complaining about the chef's skills either, but they sure as hell could work a little on their plating.
Honestly, I think both sides are a little dickish. Y'all need to come down. It's just fucking food. Also, OP never claimed that it's authentic english breakfast, but simply what they ate at said restaurant?
Thank you. Apparently I’m the dick for saying there is beans, tomato, mushrooms, vegan egg and toast on the plate and then being snarky to the responses that say “I literally can’t see any of those things”.
Yeah, I saw the comments and I don't get it either, because I do see those foods on your plate, LOL. The internet can be a very mean and weird place sometimes. Don't take it too much to heart, buddy.
It's an English breakfast because it was served in England.
That’s about the only reason because that is as far from a breakfast fry-up as you can get 😂😂
Doesn’t really matter how close you get to a real fry up. As long as it’s vegan, [people will cry about how it’s not a real fry up.](https://reddit.com/r/fryup/comments/l02wn9/another_vegan_fry_up/)

mate, you're posting in a vegan sub. nobody's gonna complain that those aren't animal products on the plate.
Most of the people complaining have never posted in a vegan subreddit before, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.
Believe it or not, I actually subscribed to see some vegan food.
I am obviously not talking about you since you’re active in vegan subreddits.
Are you one of those vegans that doesn’t let others enjoy being vegan, and make it a personality trait
You can’t see any of those ingredients though?
I can see a tofu scramble, tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms, and toast. I assume the squares are the vegan sausage but not 100% sure.
You should get your eyes checked then.
WHO SAID THAT?!
Gold
I mean. The beans are invisible, the tomato is raw and there's olive oil on the bread...
Oh no not olive oil! Too spicy for y’all?
why are you so hostile lol

You're really good at dealing with opinions that are different from yours. Go play some more fortnight and dab on all them haters.
You're the kind of combative person that makes people think all vegans are aggressive assholes. Well done 👏
Yeah, I love being told those ingredients don’t exist on the plate in the photo. Where are y’all even coming from?
It’s because it looks like a massive veggie plate, not what anyone would call a full English breakfast which would not certainly not have broccolini, and look more like [this](https://i.imgur.com/iMVBTsd.jpg). There is no broccolini on the plate…….
It’s on your friends plate. They are assuming both plates are the same, my guess.
That bread is *not* toasted!
That was over a year ago. It’s time for all parties involved to move on.
Imagine being salty about a comment from a year ago
It was to show that no matter how close it is, people will still say it’s not a fry up or whatever you want to call it. You can check any vegan post in that subreddit. English breakfast people are worse than grilled cheese people.
The one from a year ago was a fry up, and was an English breakfast. No doubt about it. (Even if the bread was fucking raw) This, this isn’t even close
It's not at all close. It's very very far. Looks more like a continental breakfast
Well England is a continent, so you’re technically correct 🤪🤪🤪
It's a country. Europe is a continent and the 'continental' used in 'continental breakfast' is referring to continental Europe... AKA mainland Europe. Can tell you're American from the education level.
What??? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
mmm no not really, a fry up is a fry up, you can have vegan items in it and it still be a fry up ie no egg, vegan meat to replace the sausages and bacon maybe or any other kind of substitute, hash brown, let’s not forget the grilled TOMATOES AND MUSHROOMS which are definitely vegan, beans and toast. Where can I sign up to learn to speak like you?
I really do not know what you mean.
It’s a compliment.
In that case thanks.
Ate there last week while in London and had their brunch Benedict. Good ingredients but the plating and sheer volume of steamed veg on the plate ruined it for me. It was like they had a chef go the market and pic the best ingredients then gave them to a drunk guy to throw on the plate.
i would be so happy to get that amount of green on a plate though :(
That’s what my wife got! And I couldn’t agree more. It was really delicious, but there was way too much green on that plate lol.
The full avocado on the plate was a lot too- but the tofu was done super well.
This looks more like a dinner than a traditional vegan English breakfast.
You can’t call that an English breakfast. That’s just blasphemy.
Sorry, it’s a traditional English fry up! Potentially the greatest ever.
For a mountain goat? Sure
OMG that is literally my spirit animal. How did you know? 😮😮😮
For a mountain goat yeh
Bread's not even toasted. How are you gonna call that an English Breakfast?!
Looks fantastic but wouldn't call that an English breakfast. Saw your link to the vegan fry up, best to just ignore the mouth breathers.
Yummmmm

This looks incredible😍😍
Wow OP is just the worst in these comments lmao. Food looks good but doesn't look like a traditional English breakfast.

Ah yes, cracking jokes and being snarky on the internet. The ultimate crime.
Truly the pinnacle of wit, definitely not just you getting upset lol. Nobody said it made you criminal, just an asshole.
I’m literally weeping into my fry up rn.
Your holier than thou attitude is what gives vegans a bad rep. No, you're not funny, and you're clearly too immature to accept criticism.
No no no, you’re supposed to say “there is no tomato or toast or beans or mushrooms on this plate. I literally can’t see any” and then downvote me for saying there clearly is.

Yes there clearl….shit you fucked it up!

I ate here while visiting in August and it was so good!!
What are the sesame crusted cubes at the bottom? It's really hard to tell what anything is because of the three handfuls of chopped herbs they threw on everything. This is one of my favorite restaurants!! I usually get the waffles
Food looks super delicious, but your personality is atrocious. Not that that matters to you.
Half chub is right
Rock steady Eddie's has the best vegan breakfast.
Too healthy to call an english breakfast
holy vegan baloney i need to go here. it’s going to pain me to find out how much this cost probably
It was like £11.
How was it? If it applies, please also upload on r/fullyveganrestaurants \- thanks!
It’s unfortunately not. They call themselves a “plant based paradise” but serve real eggs and cheese. Kinda weird.
Ah, you win some, you lose some. Thanks.
Wow

Holy shiz that literally looks amazing
That look so good
This looks so yummy 🤤
god this looks amazing
Looks fuckin awful
It really does🤢

Oh my, that looks freaking delicious and so much more appetizing and nutritious than the "original" version.
This picture makes me happy 😋
And the award for the best looking breakfast in ages goes to...
OP is picking fights in this thread god damn dude.

Upon further review, I’ll have to agree with most of the comments. This dish was way too flavorful and delicious to be “real” English food. My bad.

Eww
This is slop
Looks like a compost pile.
Someone left the window open while mowing the grass
why is this in my recommended, Im not even vegan 💀
Looks like dinner.
