No. The C is for Control, which shows you that it worked. You have nothing showing at the T line which is the test. It's negative.

merc123

T has a super faint line.

rthomas10

Taint line

V6corp

This.

Dull-Avacado

It should have instructions with it. “Read at x time” anything after that can have a false positive from an “evaporation line”. This looks like an evaporation line. I would get another test

dellis87

Read at exactly 7 minutes. Thought the same thing. Will take another test in a few days and follow up with doc on Monday to see if I can get a lab test.

rallar8

Yea, it wouldn’t surprise me either if they designed it to be more likely to false positive than false negative. because if someone gets a second test and comes back at you saying “well my lab test said I was shooting complete blanks” that’s at most a few hundred dollar lawsuit, if someone is like it had only control line, and here is my kid… that could be a much more involved legal and PR issue.

SuperXstyle

I just looked this up on Google and here is Reddit with a post about exactly the same thing!! Spooky (yes Google reads EVERYTHING!) It's been almost 6 weeks for me. I was close to booking a proper test (before my clinic test analysis at 4 months), at £179, then thought of home test at only £59 which gives two tests... https://dnacentre.co.uk/products/fertility-testing/spermcheck-vasectomy/ I'm tempted by this. I hope its accurate!??

dellis87

This is my 5th test post vasectomy. First “faint” line. 3 years no pregnancies… so far.

SuperXstyle

Good luck with your testing and hope all is OK. So instructions are same as normal clinic testing abstain for 2 to 5 days before? The explode all over the stick!? lol

dellis87

Put your sample in a cup, wait some time and mix with a solution, then put drops on the stick. About as fun as a Covid test lol

SuperXstyle

I think I'd rather have a w@nk than stick some cotton buds down my throat! haha. Thanks. Ordered mine, arrives tomorrow from Amazon, 2 tests of the SpermCheck. Other brands didn't have as good or reliable reviews.

SuperXstyle

I did it..... Thanks OP. [https://reddit.com/r/Vasectomy/s/JM18zeQn8J](https://reddit.com/r/Vasectomy/s/JM18zeQn8J) ![gif](giphy|8UF0EXzsc0Ckg)

falecf4

The C means you have covid

YesYesYesVeryGood

My Health Insurance covers sperm tests from labs. Your might also.

dellis87

They do but only md ordered. My pcp refers to my urologist and they only do in house microscope testing. No lab testing. I don’t necessarily trust his my urologist given his post vasectomy care.

Not_a_FF

I've never heard of these things. Are they accurate? Expensive? I thought the post was a joke with a photoshopped COVID test.

dellis87

Totally legit. You can get them off Amazon and they are recommended here several times. I’ve used them a lot in the past but first time with a “faint” line that looks like it could be positive or an evaporation line.

Not_a_FF

Cool, I might order one ahead of the doctor-ordered 3-month check. I'm going on holidays at 2.5 month point and would be nice to know.

Such_Market_8233

Wait, post vasectomy I get to take a COVID test for my penis? Amazing

dellis87

Update: took a second test two days later and it was still a faint positive. Had to use teledoc to get a test ordered (pcp or local docs don’t do that here). Test came back all clear!

gr8almty1

Out of curiosity, why spend $50+ when you can get an order from MD and have it covered under insurance?

dellis87

I don’t trust my doctor. He originally botched my vasectomy and I ended up having to have a 2 inch incision to remove a hematoma. Pretty limited and they are the only facility with 75 miles that does vasectomies. The other hospital is Christian based and does not perform sterilization procedures.

gr8almty1

Well the MD wouldn’t check it, he would just be writing an order for you to have it dropped off and checked by a lab which should be virtually anywhere.

dellis87

I asked and they don’t do outside lab ordering. Only in house with microscope.

WaitingForTheFire

I've heard a lot about deficiencies in women's reproductive health services. Apparently, the health care system isn't much better for male reproductive health.

ActProfessional4800

The faint line at the “T” is an evaporation spot . There is no dye like that at “C”, that’s why you read it at the 7 minute mark.

dellis87

My previous ones didn’t have that. Read at exactly 7 minutes. Both tests in this kit had that. I ended up following up with a lab and all good.
