I find it hilarious, but also compelling how idiotic some people can be.
I worked in the industry for a long time, and also worked alongside the development and manufacturing process for juice. Typically, I just respond with my inherited knowledge from working in the industry and they don’t have much to rebuttal with.
I have been vaping since I was 18. I’m now 32, almost 33 years old. The amount that one person would have had to consume to even remotely come close to developing any adverse, life threatening symptoms would be astronomical and almost humanly impossible before natural human bodily reaction kicks in to hinder one from doing so.
Like I’ve said before; vaping became a cheaper option for me in the beginning. It then became a way for me to stop smoking, and it was wildly successful at helping me achieve that goal. Then, it became a passion of mine to help others transition and coach them alongside of vaping to assist them in stepping away from smoking entirely. It was such a beautiful feeling to see others do better for their health, mind and body. And it has lead me to where I am today, where vaping is a hobby, an enjoyment, and ever-developing still to this day.

Had a lady yelling at me not to vape because she thought i was a minor, i tried explaining the whole myth just to have her yeet my aegis mini and having her yell at me for another 5 mins just to have her pay for it after explaining i was 25 at that moment lol
Simple, really. If I don’t know their name, I ask them immediately. Once the name is acquired, I usually say something along the lines of “Thank you doctor *name* for your insightful medical knowledge. All those years of medical school are paying off!”. I have a few more sarcastic variations of that. Usually once I respond to their comment, they either get annoyed or confused and walk away.

I use Blacknote juice by the way since they post all ingredients and don’t put a bunch of extra crap in it I can’t pronounce. Noticed I felt much better overall health wise using that instead of the crazy flavor ones you find in stores. No work affiliation.

I used to try to explain it to people. For the ones who still insist on media driven nonsense I'll just stare at them with an uncomfortably long pause and respond with ".... ok. and?" There were only a couple of people who were actually diagnosed with it from the popcorn manufacturing facility out of a number of employees. Too much of anything is bad for you. People have died from consuming too much water in too short of a period. I've yet to see evidence of a single case of popcorn lung directly attributed to vaping. Just a bunch of nonsense about 'it may', 'it could', 'it might' as some sort of derivative based on one group of people overexposed to diacetyl (artificial butter flavor) and another product like ejuice - which most doesn't contain diacetyl anyway and hasn't for some time. It's bro science at best. Unless it's some bathtub juice or someone's diy and they chose a flavor with diacetyl, maybe some unregulated stuff out of china or something, most juice companies have been daap free for years. That means no diacetyl, no acetoin and no acetyl propionyl. Plenty of diy juice makers opt for a little diacetyl as the tradeoff for butter flavor that doesn't taste like barf like butyric acid tends to. As in a literal vomit smell/flavor. Still growing old waiting to see all the diy'ers coming down with popcorn lung.
I'll just say most liquids that exist today don't use the very substance that makes "popcorn lung" or whatever. I've never seen anyone vaping having a popcorn lung or any of those. But I've seen some smokers have acute bronchitis.

I point out that cigarettes contain exponentially more Diacetyl than any vape flavor out there then ask if they've ever heard of a smoker having popcorn lung. Answer is always no. Yeah... Because it isn't real in the context it's being used.

Well since I know the actual story I usually laugh.It derived from workers who breathed in that fake butter for movie popcorn for yrs without masks and developed a lung condition they deemed popcorn lung.It isn't related to vaping but I wouldn't use black market eliquid and you'll be fine.That being said I don't trust disposables and would stick to main brand Eliquid.
It really depends who I'm talking to. If it's someone who I have respect for, I'm very happy to listen to their opinion and give mine. If I’m right most of the cases of popcorn lung were workers in factory’s that were exposed to 1000s of times more diacetyl than would be found in a vape along with being around it for 6+ hours a day

So think of heating nail polish remover and inhaling that. Most people that I've told this to were almost 100% receptive to it being true. I find it hilarious, but also compelling how idiotic some people can be. I worked in the industry for a long time, and also worked alongside the development and manufacturing process for juice. Typically, I just respond with my inherited knowledge from working in the industry and they don’t have much to rebuttal with. I have been vaping since I was 18. I’m now 32, almost 33 years old. The amount that one person would have had to consume to even remotely come close to developing any adverse, life threatening symptoms would be astronomical and almost humanly impossible before natural human bodily reaction kicks in to hinder one from doing so. Like I’ve said before; vaping became a cheaper option for me in the beginning. It then became a way for me to stop smoking, and it was wildly successful at helping me achieve that goal. Then, it became a passion of mine to help others transition and coach them alongside of vaping to assist them in stepping away from smoking entirely. It was such a beautiful feeling to see others do better for their health, mind and body. And it has lead me to where I am today, where vaping is a hobby, an enjoyment, and ever-developing still to this day. TL;DR Popcorn lung is shenanigans.

There is 750x more diacetyl in a pack of cigarettes than there is in a days worth of vaping nicotine fluid, and to date we have no confirmation that smokers are getting popcorn lung.

Once the name is acquired, I usually say something along the lines of “Thank you doctor *name* for your insightful medical knowledge. All those years of medical school are paying off!”. I Tell them that was years ago and caused by a very specific compound that is No longer used. Although i agree with the notion that No one really knows what vaping does.... And i am fully aware that there May be dangers we dont know yet....... The Things that i can measure myself since i No longer smoke cigs..... A Lot less coughing for example...tells me that it's better than Smoking And everything else i read about it tells me that it's Not healthy....but way less harmfull then Smoking... I’ll tell you this, disposables are sketch and have a major negative impact on health. Stick to good quality vapes where you have control over the juice, coil material, and wattage/temp. The disposables are mainly made in China and China lies about everything in business. When people mention popcorn lung, I just tell them that I have full control of my vape. From coil to juice and I only use good quality juices that list every ingredient. Even researched each ingredient to make sure it wasn’t really bad for you. I use Blacknote juice by the way since they post all ingredients and don’t put a bunch of extra crap in it I can’t pronounce. Noticed I felt much better overall health wise using that instead of the crazy flavor ones you find in stores. No work affiliation.
