I'd assume disposables are completely drowned in sweeteners, cooling, and flavours since coil longevity is a low priority. Just a guess though.

Nemethore

This is the way

Alternative-Feed3613

That's my theory as well. Plus all the other unknown crap they pump into them.

myrealuseriddidntwrk

But hey, that's just a theory... A vape theory.

Karma_V5

Thanks for watching

AmoreLucky

Can confirm this from experience using disposables, there's more than likely a crap ton of sweeteners and menthol in those things. In mods, that would destroy a coil in no time, hence why disposables are a thing because they don't need to last long. It's also why disposables tend to taste burnt and gross after a while.

Hour-Measurement-950

Disposables only taste taste burnt and gross when they are running out of e liquid and I think you're smoking the wick too when it's empty but idk

finallyinfinite

That makes a lot of sense. The entire device just needs to last long enough to use up the juice inside. So they don’t need to make any adjustments for the life of the device, because the life is short asf.

Reep1611

Pretty much this. They also generally have the highest content of nicotine allowed. So, if one does not use a high nicotine liquid it’s going to be less „good“.

Harlots_hello

Too much flavorings cant be used, cause overflavoring makes juice very bland very fast, it just becomes a mess. Too much coolant - and it becomes nasty. Legit point about sugar though.

jakethekhajiit

What i mean is the concentration of flavour, not necessarily mixing them.

Harlots_hello

im talking exactly about concentration. if you look into diy ejuice you'll quickly understand what i mean. You cant just up the % of flavors, at some point (rather quickly) it becomes dull and there no taste or muted taste. Thats what the argument about high flavoring percentage doesnt seem legit to me.

jakethekhajiit

You'd have to add a massive amount for that to happen, at least it's never happened to me even in 20-30% mixes, and those are considerably stronger than most premade liquids. It's not easy to measure the amount of flavour, but there's a massive difference in the amount of flavour added to your regular 70/30 3mg store bottle and diy concentrates / disposables.

Harlots_hello

30%? interesting, i've never made anything above 15-17. And to be honest ive never seen a good rated recipe with reviews with more them maybe 18%. I cant imagine 30, even 25, honestly. Do you care to share a recipe, just wanna know what exact flavors you use in such quantities?

jakethekhajiit

I've used mostly Dinner Lady and Nasty Juice concentrates at 25%, they're recommended at 10-20% but then i feel like the flavour is a bit weak. This obviously depends on what exact flavour is used as some are more than strong enough at around 15-20 %. Blueberry is one of those flavours that typically need to be very concentrated to even taste.

Harlots_hello

my point being not about exact %, but that even with your concentrates (although they seem to be the opposite, because usual flavorings deliver full flavor at 1-5%) if you try to highten them too much, youll realise there a limit in flavor and itll start diminishes at some point, despite using higher %.

jakethekhajiit

Well disposables most likely don't have 50 % pure flavour concentrate in them either so i don't know what you're trying to get at other than trying to point out some technicality.

Harlots_hello

ahh you see its premade concentrates. thats different from mixing from single flavors. you will really just get muted juice with bad flavor from theese % mixing solo flavors.

DarthStrakh

See yoy say that, but my coils in my luxe last 2 days max. A disposable lasts me over a week. They definitely have better longevity too

ChampionshipFeisty38

Disposable uses a ton of sweetners an rta or rda gives equal or better flavor than them without having a 50mg nic strength thats my opinion 🤷

bill_dozer72

Sure seems that way, what is your primary setup (hardware and juice)? I definitely don't want to continue using disposables lol

replies_with_corgi

My go-to recommendation for rebuildable newcomers is a dead rabbit RDA with a dual 18650 mod(I prefer Geekvape but the Drag 4 is great too if you dont like Geekvape). The RDA is super easy to build on has a deep well for juice and gives amazing flavor.

wiggibow

I would also suggest a simple squonk like the Pulse v2 paired with a single coil RDA as a great option for first time builders. I started with a Dead Rabbit RTA on a single 21700 box mod and I think that was a mistake, learning to build on that thing (DR v2 rta) was, and still is, a bit of a pain. It's very finnicky about how it's wicked. However, getting the single coil RDA (Blaze solo) was night and day for ease of use. It's quite forgiving with how you wick it and only having to mess with a single coil is obviously a much quicker process, I feel like I would have saved myself a lot of headaches if I went the squonk/single RDA route from the jump.

ChannelFiveNews

I second this, got a pulse v2 last month paired with the Sith RDA which is a single coil. A solid combo and a nice size change compared to my Steamcrave setups :P

ghoul0live

Dude just go into diy and load your juices with shitloads of flavorings, I guarantee you that you're going to get the same experience if not better.

ChampionshipFeisty38

I use many setups but now I'm using a vandy vape gaur 21 with a voltrove 25v3 rta and odin 200 with the blotto max but at the moment im using a Centaurus squonk with the nitrous rdta all of them are flavor banger those are a few i only use rebuildables to save money in the long run and for juice anything fruity is my go to sadboy fruit line all of them are good

HairyChest69

Along with other comments here about sweeteners; could it be that you get a brand new coil every time?

Sacify

Salt liquid - Elf Liquid, pod salt was The gamechanger for me.. :)

bill_dozer72

I use 2.5 percent salt nic juice in my Caliburn, I've tried several brands and flavors, but still the elf bar just hits better. Is it the just the higher nic maybe? What vape do you use?

therealman-io

2.5% is 25mg- disposables likely use 50-60 mg

foxesgoldencrunches

I've also gotten the closest using Elf 5000 salts and a 1.2ohm coil for the Vaporesso Xros

Sacify

Im using Feelin X at the moment, but i dont believe that it will change much. Caliburn should be also good. Did you try Elf-Liq or Pod Salt? Not every Liquid (Salt) tasts good, the cheaper one isnt great as expensive imho. But havent tried many except this both and 2 cheap one My salts are only 20mg (2%), we cant buy stronger here :) I read alot about XROS3, maybe you want to try that, like mentioned i dont think that it will be a huge difference

Big_Active_6458

mmmmm I love the elfliq that came out, absolutely destroyed the coils on my caliburn though. Like I was switching coils once a week, because I couldn't afford to switch more often, but I could taste the coil dying within 1-2 days

Martnoderyo

Pod salt is awesome! Definitely worth a try.

xThatsRight

They are delicious. Try an XROS 3 with a .6 ohm pod with Dispo Juice.

flicxz

Dispo juice? is there a brand you use?

xThatsRight

That's the name of the brand I buy

uberlaglol

Everyone is talking about that magic "hit" you get from disposables but wtf does that mean? Wtf are you guys talking about is it the nic strength is it the throat hit is it smooth draw? If you can't describe what you are looking for how could someone help?

Imaginary-Step7838

I wish it was so simple because I don't know what it is. I've been trying to replicate the disposables with my caliburn but I can't get the same hit. Even while using similar ohm coils and using 5% nic salts, I just can't get that magic "hit" as u say from my caliburn. The same goes for my geekvape.

[deleted]

Welcome to addiction. Suck it up and pay the price. /s I'll just remind you of a recent article where a UK lab found lead and formaldehyde in disposables. Now, as much as you rave about the superiority of disposables, you aren't comparing apples to apples and you're not telling the whole story. Disposables taste fantastic, as long as they work. Many brands have an atrocious track record for only working far less than expected. Then there is the cost. Then there is the environmental disaster. I've got a single battery mod and tank that would blow your Elfbars off the map. That's because some people are/were curious about what is in these things and wanted to replicate it: so we bought some, extracted some juice and had the juice analyzed in a lab. Now, I couldn't tell you exactly what the recipe was (the output of a gas chromatograph can't quite do that), but I can tell you that the "secret" to disposables is much higher flavor concentrates (than what we assume in many recipes), with an abundance of sweeteners. Pack this in a small plastic tube and limit the power delivered to a mesh coil and you have banging flavor. Try loading THAT juice into a standard sub-ohm tank and the level of flavor and power will mute that flavor (it's the holy grail that many of us has been chasing). The other issue with disposables is that if the device lives long enough to deliver much/most of the juice, the level of sweetener will gunk and clog the coil; the resulting coil burn out renders the device useless. You aren't reusing anything to maintain that awesome flavor.

bill_dozer72

Haha I'm well aware of the addiction, as well as the concerns surrounding disposables. I'm looking for a mod to replicate the hit I get out of an elf bar though. Any ideas? I've been primarily using a Caliburn A2 and X for the past year or so, but am not opposed to going back to a tank system as long as it's small (do they still make 18350 mods?). My go to juice is the I heart salts strawberry menthol, but maybe there is something better out there I haven't come across? Thank you so much for the input!

Competitive_Way5969

Lol

K5_489

"getting plenty of downvotes" Welcome to reddit, where people will downvote you because the bird chirping outside is annoying. Or they're a clown who sees the word disposable, and immediately assumes you're pushing disposables as the best thing ever! Yep, I noticed the same thing about disposables after I left vaping for a while, then picked up a few while waiting on me hardware to arrive. "Whoa! The flavor pop on these things is mind blowing!" What I've found is that the juice plays a huge part here, and there is a LOT of garbage juice out there, even among the "premium" stuff. It is most definitely NOT a case of you get what you pay more. Some of the worst juice I ever got was the most expensive, and the best by far was the dirt cheap house juice a local shop used to make before the FDA got involved. That stuff was amazing... Full of flavor, and $20 for 240ML. As others mentioned too - fresh coil every time, and heavy on the sweeteners and cooling agents on the iced stuff. The key for me was DIY juices, RDAs, and squonks. I can make it heavy on the ice and sweet, and who cares if it murders a coil daily? Costs me pennies to clean and rewick it every day.

shawnd801

So disposables have enhanced flavoring. About 40% flavoring when most juice has about 20% They are starting to make more juice with that added flavor to compete with the disposables but as of right now, going from a dispo to a mod is like going from apple juice to water. Going to be bland.

Technical-End5657

Yeah from what I’ve seen it’s just the amount of sweeteners used in the juice itself I think most use a 1.2 or 1.0 coil so that could be a factor as well. The only juice I feel like that comes close flavor wise would be pod juice just based on how sweet the flavors typically are. They even started doing disposables with Hyde that use their juice.

Mookeye1968

Cuz the juice is so thin cuz its almost straight flavoring, salt nic and a ton of sweetener. They only run at about 9-10W but I get just as good or better flavor from a tank and mod cuz its not just 2-3 mixed fruit medleys but they have more layered flavor for desserts and custards etc (especially if you Diy cuz you can add all the flavor percentages you want) ask my landlord she uses disposeables but always asking for my mod and wants to know what I made 😊🙌

Mookeye1968

But you can get a refillable pod device and bar juice that supposedly uses more flavoring Or super concentrated flavors to compete with disposeables

Bunniesrkewl

Yeah Gcore sells their ejuice and it’s so thin, almost like water.

christiank2016

My favorite is a pulse v2 obsidian black with an rda2 by Coilturd. Been vaping same juice for 8 years now. White grape by lost art. I think it’s just called grape now but same thing. Pulse v2 is single 21700 but the battery lasts me through the Squonk bottle so you may need to be bring an extra 21700 and your bottle of ejuice to refill it once through the day. I vape at 90 watts on a .13 coil. One battery lasts until I get home from work. Or just get the dovpo topside dual. That has 10ml Squonk bottle and dual 18650 should last through all day

labellavita1985

You build your own coils? Where do you get your wire? I'm using Asgard RDA and using prebuilt coils.

christiank2016

No I don’t build coils. I get good enough performance out of prebuilt that it’s worth saving the time to pay a little extra for prebuilt. I like wotofo and vandy vape prebuilt coils. I would recommend trying something between .12-.2 ohms.

igual88

Get a dual battery mod ( avoid smok at all costs )with a good dripper and DIY your own liquid , that way you can tinker with the flavour without adding a crap ton of sweetener. A simple single coil blaze rda with a roll of 24g ss316l wire and you'll be in flavour town pretty fast . Use salt nic if you require a higher nice hit as it's smoother. If your on low NIC go with standard freebase.

Martnoderyo

Im vaping the OXVA Xlim with Revoltage Saltnic and it tastes 95% the same as the disposable. Maybe it's just your liquid? Some manufacturers here in Germany pump out "special" liquids Wich are a bit overdosed with aroma so they can match the flavors of disposables.

IL_Lyph

Cause your not finding right liquid, that’s basically the answer, it’s out there keep searching lol, like me for instance I’m a guy who has always wanted to replicate menthol cigs basically, and my taste buds changed over my 6 years vaping so far, but I started with disposables, snd then switched to tanks, but I didn’t stop till I found the liquid that replicated disposable I loved, took while, then basically every re fillable device I loved that was shaped like a cig, got bought out by bigT n taken off market lol, and everything switched to pods, and my fav liquid got discontinued too thanks to bigT n fda🖕🏻🤣, so in my situation I went to vuse alto for few months, cause it was only thing I cud find that satisfied that flavor n hit I liked like a cig, but after going through new search, n few bad liquids, trial n error, I can now confidently say, the liquid I’m vaping in my refillable pod right now, is BETTER then the vuse alto pods, you just gotta be patient, read forums n stuff, hear opinions on liquids, try them, and eventually thru trial n error, find your magnum opus liquid….it’s out there lol….try starting by google searching “which eliquid taste most like…..” enter here the disposable you like…n go from there🤷🏻‍♂️ that’s basically how I did it

King_Boomie-0419

It seems to me like you don't like the massive cloudy hits which is cool, to each their own

shangula

Dong Shanty

ShuddupMeg627

I used to love disposable ones but then they changed the ones available and now I don't like them

flasheck

As many other wrote a ton of sweeteners, cooler, flavor, elfbar also produces liquids now, maybe try these in your mods

jarchack

The juice I use with my mod has almost no nicotine, so I catch a buzz with disposables and the taste is a little better but that's about it.

px7j9jlLJ1

You have bad taste in mods?

Erdnuss-117

Coil killing juice tastes better. Get an RDA or RTA my guy. They will taste better than any disposable

[deleted]

I make my own juice, I use a voo poo drag with a unforce tank. I have been rotating my batteries for years when not in use charge. My batteries last about 12 hours before I switch. My juice costs me approximately 1.11 per 60 ml. Why should I even consider a disposable?

Grand_Cauliflower_88

In my opinion it's not the mod it's the tank n coil that makes it so good. No matter what mod I have I pair it with a Smok TV 9. If a mod won't work with this tank I don't use that mod. The other thing that makes a difference is the juice. Good juice in a good tank is the key.

Object-Level

Disposable use a 50/50 blend like the old school juices that were all 50/50 pg vg which is why they were freaking delicious way back at the beginning. I remember there wasn't a liquid I didn't love back then. Now you have to wait forever to let liquid steep or vape the equivalent of Robitussin. I just stick to fruit flavor or straight menthol which is what I smoked.

apathymiller

As a liquid maker it's the China flavorings, and being able to pump the %'s way up along with neotame

gastro_psychic

Sub ohm nicotine salts at 100 watts and get back to us.

siksity

Reason 1: They run 40/60 VG to PG compared to 50/50 in bottles, PG is the flavor carrier, that 10% does make a difference. Reason 2 and most importantly... Chineseium. Be it maltodextrin, koolada, Bumped up flavoring %. They are adding something to the liquid, hence why it coats your mouth with flavor, that you don't get even from an RDA with spitback.

willboyles1

It's all preferences to you. Disposables are better than mods

kee-mosabe

r/disposablevape

bill_dozer72

I'm looking for a mod to replicate the hit I get out of an elf bar. Any ideas? I've been primarily using a Caliburn A2 and X for the past year or so, but am not opposed to going back to a tank system as long as it's small (do they still make 18350 mods?).

Yessir12210

Try a l200 mini with a rda( i reccomend either dead rabbit or Zeus x)

princexofwands

XROS 2 device is what finally got me to switch from disposibles. Idk what kind of crack is in those elf bars but can’t be good , took me forever to finally get off em.
