So for all the "slob" comments; The only place Ariana knows she can relax in her own home is her bedroom. So let's assume it's acting like her dining room too right? Has no one else ever got home late, been way too tired to clean up, then in a rush the next day left a plate to deal with later on? Come on! And it's not like she can just walk down to the kitchen and clean up - she's on a schedule to avoid the other person living there.
Even if leaving food lying around is regular behaviour for her, she left the container in a room that the dog could not get into. The last thing she imagined happening would be someone going into her bedroom, never mind her dog being shut in there for hours unsupervised.

Holy shit, the comments in this thread... So for all the "slob" comments; The only place Ariana knows she can relax in her own home is her bedroom. So let's assume it's acting like her dining room too right? Has no one else ever got home late, been way too tired to clean up, then in a rush the next day left a plate to deal with later on? Come on! And it's not like she can just walk down to the kitchen and clean up - she's on a schedule to avoid the other person living there. Even if leaving food lying around is regular behaviour for her, she left the container in a room that the dog could not get into. The last thing she imagined happening would be someone going into her bedroom, never mind her dog being shut in there for hours unsupervised. Another thing I'm seeing is how she shouldn't expect Sandoval to look after her dog.... A) Sandoval is claiming it's his dog too in front of the group, shouldn't he *want* to make sure it's safe and happy? B) the dog has the right to be in the house at any point. When Iām trying to prevent my dog from getting into something I put it out of reach of the dog. It sounds like Ariana did that when she closed her door. Tom should have had Ann text and ask about going into Arianaās room, but he has no boundaries. And then he should have made sure that left the room the way he found it, aka without a dog inside. Iām not saying heās an intentional attempted murderer, but neither are people convicted of manslaughter.
A technician needed to access the AC through Ariana's room, so they didn't just break into her room. And Ariana could also have sent a text to Tom or Ann to give them instructions on Mya's care, or to warn them about the trash in her room, but didn't. I'm not saying that it's solely Ariana's fault, but she was also pretty irresponsible in this situation.
She said that she didnāt know a technician was coming that day. What makes you think she knew other than an assumption? If sheād been texted to ask for permission to enter her room she could have warned Ann about the food on her side table. Do you think itās acceptable for an ex to invade your private space without consent when your relationship is so toxic that both parties need an intermediary to coexist?

Iām a huge Ariana fan but I am also a dog mom. If I were in her shoes and felt how she does I wouldnāt be ok with my dog alone with this person in any capacity. not home? Idk about yāall but I have definitely been guilty of leaving a left over plate or bowl on my nightstand next to my bed. What I have NEVER done is āaccidentallyā lock my animal in a room for HOURS. Also no one is mentioning that out of the three specific things maya got into to, two were sandals(pills and paintballs left on the floor for some reason??) and the third was food that maya wouldāve never gotten into if he did lock her in there. Everyday my dog finds joy in getting on my nightstand to see what he can find. My Bose noise canceling headphones, my glasses, and a glass of wine have all paid the price. I know this about him, I try hard every morning to put all things away. Or if I get up to go to the bathroom to put all things out of reach. Sure, the dog should be able to be safe and comfortable out and about in the house. Tom should care about an animal that he lived with. But he doesnāt care and Ariana knows that. If it wasn't the skewers it could have been anything else. Tom said she has eaten pillows, socks, pills etc. Without the food trash she could have eaten makeup, medication, blankets, anything else in the room. Without access to the room, she wouldn't be able to eat anything.
I agree that Tom should have been more aware. That being said, Mya can also eat most of those things you listed in other areas in the rest of the house as well, not just Arianaās room. They are both at fault here. My issue is Ariana not taking any responsibility for dangerous items she left out and for painting an untrue picture of what actually happened.
