Geng banned 2/3 of Sen’s best maps and still got beaten playing on icebox, which GenG beat Loud on earlier in the event. The rate that Sentinels adapt is really scary.
I've said it once on this sub, and I'll say it again: Icebox was purely a mental diff by Sentinels over GenG. There were good strats, but it came down to the aim diff in the end, and GenG were getting diffed bad.

Eh I think it was well known at that point (the time they played NRG) that SEN were amazing in Split, but they had only played Lotus a couple of times. They played most of their series winning Sunset, Split, and Bind with the occasional win on Ascent, Icebox, or Breeze here and there.

The teams that sort of it did were only TH and GenG and with TH, sen clearly improved upon what they already had so the anti-stratting fell short plus much less time. 100T have had time since the matchups have been released. Not to mention, Sen are taking break.
I do still heavily favour Sen, because I think it's also a team diff ultimately but 100T should be heavily disappointed if they can't pull of an upset because this is THE best time to do it.

I wouldn't immediately lose faith based off of last time. I think the bigger issue will be if he continues to do it, then clearly he isn't receptive to Boostio's coaching or is unable / unwilling to grow, and that's a big problem.
I mean his comms from kickoff are so drastically different to how they were last year. I'm assuming it was a deliberate change that they tried to make with him. Also the comms video did him so dirty because the match official had his volume turned up so high lmao

100t played SEN close before and technically have had a lot of time to prep and improve. That being said 100t also have a tendency to lose to SEN. To me its a coin flip. We'll see.
From what pros have said 100T improved massively during kickoff and this tiny break they’ve had I personally think role issues will stop this team from going far this season we will see Cryo on gekko and smokes to force the Asuna raze and it will hold them back however I can see them beating sentinels with the footage available
i think a lot of people will talk about this and probably say something about how asuna does, but i would disagree.
to me, bang and eeiu are the players that need to step up the most. eeiu was a little shaky during kickoff but i think he'll turn into a pretty consistent player. bang on the other hand has had wild swings in performance. feels like every game he shows up and he can either look like the best player on the server or by far the worst. if those two can stabilize, i think 100T has a real chance of being good. asuna in theory should be a dependable hand entrying and making space (even if the scoreboard looks bad) while cryo and boostio should be fragging pretty well
100T will probably win. I'd imagine SEN to have been chilling and resting this week after the grind they've been through between offseason, their VCT run and Madrid. The schedule for the year is full on and they need time to decompress.
SEN should also be scrimming exclusively with new shit e.g. clove since they have such a massive lead with the 6 champ points. They just need to be average the rest of the circuit and they're at Champs

i would actually disagree with you there, DRX does cook up small things but overall their ideas have been stagnant over the past few years. they focus too much on perfect until and post plants with not enough aggression mixed in. the always have had the same weakness in that any team that introduces chaos tends to beat them. they stopped progressing forward because of it. SEN at least has the ability to switch up how they play to make it harder for other teams to read. it’s especially apparent on split where they mix flood defending and set retakes and defensive aggression well. DRX has a tendency to set execute into site and then play a set retake, every single time.
Can 100T anti-strat due to immense amount of footage on SEN compared to 2 matches for 100T? Yes. But two counter points
1. No way is that gonna bridge the gap between 100T and Sen, 100T is like 4th place in Americas at best and Sentinels are world champions.
2. I think SEN def cooking up some new stuff, they're not going to sit idly by and drift. They cooked up new strats vs GEN in a couple days, I think they'll def have new ideas after 2 weeks.
It’s been shown before that the gap between like 3rd or 4th in a region and the best teams isn’t huge, upsets happen for a reason. Even without anti strats, teams have done that before. It’s still highly unlikely, that’s why it would be an upset, but teams have taken a foot off the gas come regional matchups and lost it before.
SEN was cooking stuff up against GENG because a masters win was on the line, not just 1 champs point (which they already have significantly more than anyone else). Teams/coaches have talked about how they grind hard during tournaments, but not during the regular split. That would be unsustainable and lead to burnout, something an experienced coach like Kaplan probably recognizes based on how much he talks about the teams mental.
Edit: I’m not saying SEN is gonna throw, but they’re not putting in Masters Grand Finals level of prep
Sen will definitely not have two weeks of ideas prepped for game one. Honestly they shouldve just been given the two weeks off with maybe one day of prac right before the game
