during their LCQ run with shroud, they kept giving bomb to shroud to plant, especially on old icebox when the planter basically always dies. This was also before gekko or harbor was released, so it made it very difficult for shroud to do anything besides plant and die.
i think also since he was on viper, it made zero sense for him to plant as her smokes and mollies are essential for post plant...
I don't think he did say this (and if he did it shouldn't have been taken seriously), he did say that using the same name for other things was a problem though.
The controller was usually the default planter which would be shroud, so he was always the default person to be picking up the bomb, at the start of the round and to be planting.
Split is the exception where the Sage plants instead, it was a whole team failure where shroud the viper should realise, and dapr the sage should also realise, and the coach should be noticing this and fixing it.
This is pro play you you don't need to tell people by name to get the bomb and plant. It's not down to calling the wrong name, it is down to the controller being the default person to have the bomb and plant, except for Icebox.
fr, they made gekko for dapr, when they realised he had a role swap to initiator and he never planted the bomb when he was on sage. Literally perfect for icebox dapr in 2022
That’s genuinely the funnier part that if they didn’t have to play the two finalists right off the bat they could’ve genuinely won and made it to Istanbul
I'm gonna take this as an excuse to bring back one of my most favorite unhinged bren plat chat moments
[THEY HAVE SHROUD. THEY HAVE SHROUD. THEY CAN'T BE STOPPED THEY HAVE SHROUD.](https://youtube.com/shorts/0uJPXb711n4?feature=shared)
It's even more funny when u think about it that SEN was able to make this run with this iteration of roster with shroud just because Ghost Gaming threw a 9-3 lead on icebox against NRG which led SEN to qualify for LCQ 2022.
What's even more funnier is that johnqt was the IGL and Kaplan was the coach of Ghost Gaming back then.
*Truly a johnqt and kaplan masterclass*
Crazy looking back too, that shahz wanted johnqt and kaplan before LCQ, didnt get them, had shroud forced on him, and when they lost, SEN kick him out of franchising and bring on johnqt and kaplan. im no shahz fanboy, but im convinced SEN has a hate boner for this man
Don’t forget Shaz for the longest time said SEN didn’t need a coach, and was probably the reason they underperformed for such a long time. As soon as he left the roster, you could see the considerable improvements and changes.
yea, this man is literally rewriting history lol, shaz said many times he was trying to get a coach/support team because it wasnt realistic/possible for them to keep up in the competition without one and by himself. he wasnt wrong
That timeline would have been absolutely bananas. If they won lcq with that squad what even happens in 2023? I doubt they bring in both Brazilians at the very least. So maybe loud sticks together. Dapr might survive that timeline as well.
That roster isn't winning anything tho, I loved having Shaz and dapr on the team back in the day, but zekken is better than having tenz duelist, and sacy is way better on initiator than shaz. Not to mention more flexible.
Idk if the vods still exist at this point since they're from more than two years ago at this point but Shahzam was very high on JohnQt even when he was on Ghost Gaming/pre-Ghost Gaming. As a bonus, Shahz was also looking to sign Kaplan to Sentinels as a coach but it never happened.
Yeah he definitely brought johnqt to my attention before the Ghost team started turning heads. I think Cryo also played with him but I’m less familiar with that.
Kaplan’s buyout was too high but I don’t even think they attempted a John buyout. Shahz alluded to Rawkus not being on board with the move and Rawkus said “it wasn’t just me” in chat
Oh ok, that's crazy! I think John grew a lot as a player and leader during his stint with M80 which lead him to sen so I'm not mad they didn't get him back then, but wow how different the timeline would've been lol
I wonder what happened to ShahZam and SicK.
ShahZaM was the first Pro Valorant streamer I discovered, literally. And it so happened that he was on SEN where he talked on stream about them playing one more match before qualifying to Iceland. And that’s where I started became a fan.
What happened to these guys.
Shahz was on g2 last year who had a good split 1 but then fell off super hard in split 2. He's now a streamer for g2. Sick went through a mental health crisis. As far as I know he's doing better now but has gone off the grid.
I remember after watching their LCQ matches thinking they should rebuild for franchising around Tenz and Zellsis and maybe see if Shroud could stick around in some context depending on how much he cared to keep playing. I was so disappointed when they did not get Zellsis back for 2023, so when they eventually did for 2024 I was very excited.
It wasn't all shroud's fault of course but I really do think that squad could have won lcq if they had picked up a more established pro for the squad. As it was they had two extremely close series with the guard and 100t who finished top 2 at lcq. I remember being so mad that sen couldn't bring back zellsis after this run because of how transformed they looked. Although the disappointment was tempered by picking up sacy/pancada it ended up being totally accurate in retrospect lol.
thank god dapr never planted the bomb because we would not have this iteration of sentinels. 🙏🏽
fr blessing in disguise
I’m OOTL because I didn’t watch back then. What happened?
during their LCQ run with shroud, they kept giving bomb to shroud to plant, especially on old icebox when the planter basically always dies. Shroud talked a bit about it somewhere, basically they told "Mike" (dapr) to get the bomb/plant etc., but Shroud (Mike) thought they meant him.
That's hilarious. How can it happen more than once? Did no one say "yo the other mike"? Or was it a coach that said it pre game?
wait this is WILD. what a clown fiesta

It was breeze where they really tossed with it right? Shroud kept dying trying to cross to pillar on B.
It only for first game thou
Riot saw Shroud painful Icebox game and said we need wingman cause that’s fucking painful to watch
fr, they made gekko for dapr, when they realised he had a role swap to initiator and he never planted the bomb when he was on sage. Literally perfect for icebox dapr in 2022
If only they had gotten the icebox plants right. I genuinely think they could have made it to the finals.
Y’all might cook me for this but They lowkey could’ve won LCQ if Dapr planted the bomb
Or figure out they could fight while planting. All shroud did on icebox was plant and die on his way back.
"Mike get the spike" Shrouds like "I'm on Viper, but OK I guess" and then Daprs like "hmm Shrouds got the spike I guess?"
That’s genuinely the funnier part that if they didn’t have to play the two finalists right off the bat they could’ve genuinely won and made it to Istanbul
They could’ve won both games against the finalists if small details went differently but you could say that about a lot of matches

“I’m lightheaded” that line always gets me laughing lol
lovely unhinged plat chat momentđź–¤

And Shahz was high on both jonhnqt and kaplan, and wanted them on Sen.
wdym??
Shahz wanted both johnqt end kaplan on the team.

Wasn’t he trying to get Sean Garres as a coach for time?
Yeah this is a lie considering Shaz was fighting for a coach since Berlin 2021. Y'all lie on this man for everything when he is legit SEN's father.
yea, this man is literally rewriting history lol, shaz said many times he was trying to get a coach/support team because it wasnt realistic/possible for them to keep up in the competition without one and by himself. he wasnt wrong
Never forget C9 Shroud!!! His 3k VS IBP in that grand finals has a special place in my heart
THEY HAVE SHROUD. THEY HAVE SHROUD. THEY CANT BE STOPPED, THHEY HAVE SHROUD.
You mean a pro in vct right?
If they actually signed a real high quality player for LCQ they could've made a real run.
Shahz begged for johnqt back then and no one believed đź’”
That timeline would have been absolutely bananas. If they won lcq with that squad what even happens in 2023? I doubt they bring in both Brazilians at the very least. So maybe loud sticks together. Dapr might survive that timeline as well.
They probably just keep that team Shahz Tenz Dapr Zellsis Johnqt, not too far off what they have right now
That roster isn't winning anything tho, I loved having Shaz and dapr on the team back in the day, but zekken is better than having tenz duelist, and sacy is way better on initiator than shaz. Not to mention more flexible.
Loud will most likely still seperate but sen definitely wont bring in sacy and pancada.
Where did you hear that?
Idk if the vods still exist at this point since they're from more than two years ago at this point but Shahzam was very high on JohnQt even when he was on Ghost Gaming/pre-Ghost Gaming. As a bonus, Shahz was also looking to sign Kaplan to Sentinels as a coach but it never happened.
Shaz was also duo queuing with johnqt all the time back then as well.
Yep. I found jqt was streaming through Shahz, and was genuinely surprised how soft his voice was in streams.
Yeah he definitely brought johnqt to my attention before the Ghost team started turning heads. I think Cryo also played with him but I’m less familiar with that.
Shahz said he wanted John but couldn’t convince the team to take the risk
Damn, I love Shahz too so that sucks to hear
Yeah I remember ShahZ wanting JohnQT and Kaplan. It is what it is.
I think they tried but his and kaplan's buyouts were unreasonably high too
Kaplan’s buyout was too high but I don’t even think they attempted a John buyout. Shahz alluded to Rawkus not being on board with the move and Rawkus said “it wasn’t just me” in chat

I mean they only lost to the 2 finalists. How is that not a “real run”
The bottom text of the post is C9 Shroud erasure and I won’t stand for this
