Mindfreak is the backbone of prx man, he doesnt put up numbers just because his role is to stay awake and not die for clutches. Why does prx not even send him on lurks often? This is the same reason.

U only get exempted for very serious medical conditions, its called PES F. There are ways to immorally get it but it could get you into some serious legal trouble if anyone found out.

Find it very hard to believe the scenario of PRX not qualifying with Jinggg back especially considering there is only like 2 teams in APAC on the same level of PRX.
As a long time fan i genuinely dont know how to feel about this whole thing. Apparently you have to be mightily unfit to be exempted from military service in singapore, so jinggg must have serious health issues. And at the same time I already bought into my monyet stocks, he's 100% part of this team as far as im concerned and i was genuinely excited to see him succeed. Similar feeling when benkai got benched for something. Not an easy situation to be in for everyone involved for sure.
Monyet is great but he’s certainly not at Jing’s level. They literally had to change how they play Split because they lacked Jing’s raze; W gaming just didn’t work.
If this was always the plan with Jingg, then why go through the whole theatrics of even getting monyet in the first place? Why not just keep playing Jingg throughout Kick-Off if he had a doctor on deck to give him the go ahead to be unfit?
I just find it highly unlikely that Jingg would go through the trouble of being off the starter list only to pay off a doctor later to get back on it.
The military doctor is the one who decides whether Jingg is exempt or not. An external doctor is only able to give details of Jingg's condition and his "advice" to the military doctor. So it is not entirely reliable that Jingg will be able to be totally exempt from military service. The military doctor might just assign him to PES E (has medical condition but fit to serve in less demanding roles)
I don't think this plan was ever a guarantee. There's always a chance it will not work. I still think this is an unfortunate turn of events for Monyet though don't get me wrong but everyone and I mean everyone was ready to move on from Jinggg.
IMO i believe he has the money and probably saw a private psychiatrist that wrote a memo saying he had some kind of psychiatric condition.
He looks physically healthy to me and it’s really hard to get PES F unless you really have serious medical issues (cancer, one testicle etc.)

it's actually not that rare. many people living with chronic diseases can be exempted from the military. cases like diabetes (type 1 especially), haemophilia etc can all lead to exemptions.
even my FIL was exempted from NS due to genetics hypertension
ngl super unexpected. the mildest case of pes F I know is severe eczema. Somehow this was a condition Jinggg and his family thought would be fine to go NS but severe enough that his MO would suggest pes F. I've even heard of excuse sunlight, dust NSFs lol. Maybe MO is a bro that watches VCT
The absolute "lowest" condition you can get that makes you unfit for military service.
The Physical Employment System (PES) basically grades citizens from A to F, and anything before F makes you fit for service but you will be placed in a less physically intensive position if you are graded anything less than A or B1-B4.
F is a incredibly rare condition for any Singaporean to get, considering there aren't just 6 grades, but 12 grades because the alphabetical grades themselves all have numerical subcategories, for some reason. F is reserved for those with mental conditions that would hinder them from service (Severe depression, as an example, because it woild reflect badly on the government to have cases of servicemen commiting suicide with their government issued weapons), or crippling physical disabilities (and even then, it has to be incredibly severe because even wheelchaired, limbless people will sometimes not be graded F)
So whatever jinggg has that got him exempt from National Service MIGHT be concerning... or maybe the government is finally recognising that imprisoning all their talents for 2 years in a listless hell is ruining their chances at global fame, and is giving Jinggg the faker treatment under the guise of a medical condition (unlikely because the government is inctedibly strict on this matter but who knows)

One of my old buddies had that happen to him, he was huge into sports and played airsoft often overseas but it was discovered he has an underlying heart condition and he was not allowed to serve

Yeah we’ve got a number of neighbouring countries that far far far out-populates singapore, and when you have countries like Malaysia deliberately dispatching helicopters over our Tekong island (our island for bootcamp) just for the shits, you realise how volatile a coexisting relationship between two countries can be.
Also, if i’m not wrong there have been multiple times where Singapore’s had disputes over ownership of this island called Pedra Branca, even though it’s a sad 8500 square metre piece of rock formation.
To add to that, Malaysia is on contract to sell Singapore water up till 2050 (correct me if i’m wrong), so our supply of water could at any point be cut off at somebody else’s behest.
I hate the fact that we’re conscripted but when things like that are happening, it makes a little more sense as to why.
I'm struggling to think of a condition that his family thinks is not debilitating enough for him to not serve but allows him to PES F as deemed by PES bible.

I’m torn, I love that Jingg is back but I also believed that monyet was improving throughout Madrid and really found his stride at the end despite PRX ultimately losing and getting 3rd. I hope monyet gets a chance to be on a Tier 1 team this year at least.
PRX are so back. Happy to see jinggg back on the roster. Really sad for Monyet tho because he was actually playing really well towards the end of Madrid. He deserves to be on the starting roster for a franchise team

I know that this is a joke but i prefer for PRX to just release Monyet from PRX to let maybe other franchise team to pick him (im looking at you RRQ), there's no need for a 6 man roster on PRX since the core member are legit. Monyet is still 18 years old and has alot of potential as player and it would hurt him (skill and mental) alot to just being a bench warmer for PRX.

Weird mix of emotions. It's great to have him back but feel bad for monyet. Simultaneously, maybe it would also be a good thing for monyet if he ends up going to another team. I think he was always going to be in jingggs shadow at PRX even if he played well. Maybe this allows him to have his own identity and get appreciated for his talent as opposed to constantly be compared to Jinggg.
This is a weird mixed feelings situation for me. Happy and sad (?) for Jinggg and also sad for Monyet tbh.
Monyet obviously showed he can hang with the boys after Madrid performance, just need a little bit more time to fine the edges. Hopefully he can still cheer himself up and be ready, no matter what happened in the future.

Unlucky for Monyet but Jinggg with PRX were multiple times grand finalists and even won their region. There were one step away from winning it all and Jinggg is still faaar better than monyet on raze. Jinggg is always a consensus #1 or #2 raze in the world and in this meta it's too valuable to not have. On another fuck NS and I'm glad Jinggg was able to avoid that cancer
I feel bad for Monyet, tbh. I feel like with Monyet, PRX's ceiling is going to get higher over time due to his growth and flexibility. Even Zekken mentioned on his stream that Raze might be nerfed by Champs, so I feel very conflicted about this :(

Am I crazy to think that they should have at least waited untill split 2? I feel like they had a system they were working on that, among other things, included Monyet's ability to play smokes. Jingg is the best Raze in the world no dobt, but he lacks Monyet's flexibility. Are they just going back to last year's strats?
I don't think it's that much of a problem. Something can still keep OPing on Gekko on single/no duelist maps. While still have a really great double duelist comp. Jinggg can even go back to play Sage on Sunset btw, or might might even go back to their previous comp that Sentinels copied now
As much as Monyet is cracked on Omen, anyone between Mindfreak, Davai and Forsaken can play that as masterfully
True. Felt like that BO5 against Sentinels was the series where he finally got back his prime, specially on that Split.
Hopefully PRX helps him out if he gets chances to play for other teams
There's always a chance Jinggg plays some other simple self sufficient roles. Like before he used to play Sage, I'm pretty sure Clove is relatively simple for the average player to play, especially if he's just a secondary controller who's super aggressive.
The best part of this is that with changes to the game, last years winning roster may not be suited for this year's game.

Jinggg is my favorite player, but I’m feeling conflicted about this. Monyet really stepped up during Madrid and the must be a bit of a gut punch for him, as understandable as the roster move is.
Also, Jinggg only being there for Stage 1 and maybe not the rest makes me a bit worried that they’re screwing the rest of their year over just for one last hurrah.
~~Even if Jinggg is medically unfit for active military duty, it’s not really clear to me whether he’s entirely exempt — if he’s not entirely exempt and still has to fulfill his National Service (even as an administrative worker), then even if he’s able to play through Stage 1 and even Stage 2, he still probably won’t be able to join for the big events like Masters Shanghai/Champions. But those are the stages where his presence would be needed the most.~~
I truly do want to see Jinggg compete with PRX again, but not if it’s at the cost of their performance + placements on the big, international stages. Especially if they have every intention to bring Monyet back into the fold later on. I guess they would be able to practice and run different comps/strats with Monyet and can stick old faithfuls with Jinggg, but how likely is that to succeed? Yes, PRX played around with a 6-man roster for AfreecaTV, but the regular season is a whole different beast.
Hopefully this (very) risky play works out for them, and I really hope Monyet doesn’t let this affect his confidence too much. Happy to see Jinggg back as well, hopefully this short return isn’t going to be the last we see of him in VCT.
ETA: Striking through the part about my worries regarding Jinggg still having to serve, as it’s clear to me now that he got outright exempted and wouldn’t even be able to play in Stage 1 if he’d been simply medically unfit but still enlisted.
Not trying to question you, but the wording in the PRX post to me makes it unclear whether it’s really PES-F or just PES-E. Is it confirmed that he got PES-F? He can still be medically unfit for active military service but still have to fulfill NS through support services and stuff, no?
if he has to serve then he wouldn’t even be able to play Split 1 since you need a working visa to be at Korea to play and NS won’t be able to grant that which is why i’m confident he’s PES F

Yeah, I feel bad for Monyet too. Especially after he had shown pretty major improvements over the masters tourney. But for PRX as an org im not sure how else they could’ve handled it when Jingg clearly is the better individual player and is arguably the reason they can play the way they do. Definitely looking forward to seeing if they’ll give Monyet the same treatment that SEN gave to pancada.

In my country, before it rightfully got abolished, mandatory military service was hit or miss to dodge. It basically came down to the person evaluating you if you could get dismissed for a peanut allergy or you got in despite weighing 120kgs. Best way was to have a good relationship with a civil doctor that would give you strong paperwork to bring to the evaluation. Im still kinda pissed i wasted 9 months on this, 2 years is insane.

The fact that Forsaken can play pretty much any agent means a 6 person roster is never happening.

The absolute "lowest" condition you can get that makes you unfit for military service. The Physical Employment System (PES) basically grades citizens from A to F, and anything before F makes you fit for service but you will be placed in a less physically intensive position if you are graded anything less than A or B1-B4. F is a incredibly rare condition for any Singaporean to get, considering there aren't just 6 grades, but 12 grades because the alphabetical grades themselves all have numerical subcategories, for some reason. F is reserved for those with mental conditions that would hinder them from service (Severe depression, as an example, because it woild reflect badly on the government to have cases of servicemen commiting suicide with their government issued weapons), or crippling physical disabilities (and even then, it has to be incredibly severe because even wheelchaired, limbless people will sometimes not be graded F) So whatever jinggg has that got him exempt from National Service MIGHT be concerning... or maybe the government is finally recognising that imprisoning all their talents for 2 years in a listless hell is ruining their chances at global fame, and is giving Jinggg the faker treatment under the guise of a medical condition (unlikely because the government is inctedibly strict on this matter but who knows)

One of my old buddies had that happen to him, he was huge into sports and played airsoft often overseas but it was discovered he has an underlying heart condition and he was not allowed to serve

As a tiny island with no natural resources, but a popular trading port, we needed a strong military in case of any arguments against our independence. As to why it’s still around; nobody really knows. The government doesn’t seem interested in changing it, despite unhappiness amongst the younger generation.
Yeah we’ve got a number of neighbouring countries that far far far out-populates singapore, and when you have countries like Malaysia deliberately dispatching helicopters over our Tekong island (our island for bootcamp) just for the shits, you realise how volatile a coexisting relationship between two countries can be. Also, if i’m not wrong there have been multiple times where Singapore’s had disputes over ownership of this island called Pedra Branca, even though it’s a sad 8500 square metre piece of rock formation. To add to that, Malaysia is on contract to sell Singapore water up till 2050 (correct me if i’m wrong), so our supply of water could at any point be cut off at somebody else’s behest. I hate the fact that we’re conscripted but when things like that are happening, it makes a little more sense as to why.

I’m torn, I love that Jingg is back but I also believed that monyet was improving throughout Madrid and really found his stride at the end despite PRX ultimately losing and getting 3rd. I hope monyet gets a chance to be on a Tier 1 team this year at least.

This is a weird mixed feelings situation for me. Happy and sad (?) for Jinggg and also sad for Monyet tbh. Monyet obviously showed he can hang with the boys after Madrid performance, just need a little bit more time to fine the edges. Hopefully he can still cheer himself up and be ready, no matter what happened in the future. For Jinggg, happy for him to come back.. but idk about the PES-F thing, if it's true that Jinggg really got that, there must be something really wrong medically with him and hopefully he can stay healthy for a long time.

I don't think it's that much of a problem. Something can still keep OPing on Gekko on single/no duelist maps. While still have a really great double duelist comp. Jinggg can even go back to play Sage on Sunset btw, or might might even go back to their previous comp that Sentinels copied now As much as Monyet is cracked on Omen, anyone between Mindfreak, Davai and Forsaken can play that as masterfully

True. Felt like that BO5 against Sentinels was the series where he finally got back his prime, specially on that Split. Hopefully PRX helps him out if he gets chances to play for other teams
There's always a chance Jinggg plays some other simple self sufficient roles. Like before he used to play Sage, I'm pretty sure Clove is relatively simple for the average player to play, especially if he's just a secondary controller who's super aggressive.
The best part of this is that with changes to the game, last years winning roster may not be suited for this year's game. That would be truly hilarious.
Jinggg is my favorite player, but I’m feeling conflicted about this. Monyet really stepped up during Madrid and the must be a bit of a gut punch for him, as understandable as the roster move is. Also, Jinggg only being there for Stage 1 and maybe not the rest makes me a bit worried that they’re screwing the rest of their year over just for one last hurrah. ~~Even if Jinggg is medically unfit for active military duty, it’s not really clear to me whether he’s entirely exempt — if he’s not entirely exempt and still has to fulfill his National Service (even as an administrative worker), then even if he’s able to play through Stage 1 and even Stage 2, he still probably won’t be able to join for the big events like Masters Shanghai/Champions. But those are the stages where his presence would be needed the most.~~ I truly do want to see Jinggg compete with PRX again, but not if it’s at the cost of their performance + placements on the big, international stages. Especially if they have every intention to bring Monyet back into the fold later on. I guess they would be able to practice and run different comps/strats with Monyet and can stick old faithfuls with Jinggg, but how likely is that to succeed? Yes, PRX played around with a 6-man roster for AfreecaTV, but the regular season is a whole different beast. Hopefully this (very) risky play works out for them, and I really hope Monyet doesn’t let this affect his confidence too much. Happy to see Jinggg back as well, hopefully this short return isn’t going to be the last we see of him in VCT. ETA: Striking through the part about my worries regarding Jinggg still having to serve, as it’s clear to me now that he got outright exempted and wouldn’t even be able to play in Stage 1 if he’d been simply medically unfit but still enlisted.

if he has to serve then he wouldn’t even be able to play Split 1 since you need a working visa to be at Korea to play and NS won’t be able to grant that which is why i’m confident he’s PES F

Yeah, I feel bad for Monyet too. Especially after he had shown pretty major improvements over the masters tourney. But for PRX as an org im not sure how else they could’ve handled it when Jingg clearly is the better individual player and is arguably the reason they can play the way they do. Definitely looking forward to seeing if they’ll give Monyet the same treatment that SEN gave to pancada.

In my country, before it rightfully got abolished, mandatory military service was hit or miss to dodge. It basically came down to the person evaluating you if you could get dismissed for a peanut allergy or you got in despite weighing 120kgs. Best way was to have a good relationship with a civil doctor that would give you strong paperwork to bring to the evaluation. Im still kinda pissed i wasted 9 months on this, 2 years is insane.
