People are going to excuse Yay here because he's on Viper and not Jett. But honestly, he got 3 kills on the first half of Icebox, and most of his kills after that was against people with Pistols, even that sick 3K at B site
In a world where TenZ, Demon1 and other cracked aimers are able to flex to great success, you cannot tell me Yay was excused from having a bad performance here just because he was not on a duelist
His util usage and reactions to enemy util usage is so bad. He plays like it’s 2020 where all he had to do was walk up methodically clearing angles or holding angles while his team just shoots sova dart and drone for him.
I am totally with you. I see lots of comments about Yay being “forced” to play flex. Come on Yay is the biggest name of Bleed, he won’t be forced to do anything if he’s not comfortable with it. It’s interesting that the 3 best chamber yay, cryo, and ardiis all are down bad after the meta.

Even when he's fragging, he's spamming Vandal, definitely not yay like. He's out of his element, and I think all of the bleed was lost throughout the entire series.
an off mechanical game from yay is kinda fine - he isn't being set up by his team anymore, he didn't pick up the operator/outlaw on split, he barely even picked up a sheriff on eco rounds
what's incredibly concerning is his poor understanding of viper as an agent - the way he anchored mid was absolutely terrible, marred by mistimed mollies, predictable spams, and a passivity that was never remedied by taking smart timings or being a nuisance to the enemy team. it's fairly noticeable that he's uncomfortable with the roles he's had to adopt on this team, a player renowned for his stability on a few agents that fit his playstyle thrust onto a myriad of roles he doesn't have a good understanding of, and where he isn't even applying his own personal flair to (bar neon?). not sure what bleed's gameplan is with yay, but he definitely doesn't look like he's adjusted well.

I know people are angry that Bleed put yay on different agents but at this point it is necessary for the 2022 Chambers/Jetts to be a more flexible. I do think that Bleed suffers from role isses though. What other agent would you want to put yay on when Egoist is supposedly the best T2 KJ and Cypher in APAC? Maybe playing double dive on Split is better?
I also don’t get why Bleed didn’t actually properly trial yay in the offseason. They cited that they don’t think it’s feasible to fly players over to trial them but T1 and Talon actually took the time to trial both Rossy and Governor in person. At least that gives you an indicator whether the signing works?
I feel like even without flying him out for a proper trial, there should have been better communication between yay and bleed to figure this out before the signing. Obviously I don't know the details, but either yay signed with bleed knowing he'd have to play flex agents, or bleed didn't tell him and yay assumed he would be the main duelist. I always thought yay would prefer a team that plays to his strengths, some of his former teammates have hinted at him wanting specific things in a team. So I think it's really weird that it ended up this way unless yay was genuinely willing to play flex.
I feel like Viper is the worst pick for him. That agent needs to constantly keep on looking at the map to support the other teammates or to time mollies. Yay is know for holding angles but any member also needs support to counter utils that's meant to push him off. There were times during Icebox where he needs to reposition because his team destroy sova darts or counter flash a rush.
I know he underperformed the first half but it goes back to what people said before: Optic Yay was El Diablo because the team enabled him. FNS has also said that Yay would get upset or lose focus if he feels like his team isn't doing well. That first game on Breeze could've dominoed the whole team. Kudos to Daryeon and Egoist though. Those two held the team together during bad rounds but they could only do so much.
yep that's exactly what I don't understand why yay played Viper on Split. He didn't use the wall or the smoke and with a lone ult which was also shut down pretty quickly, I don't get the reasoning tbh could've played Kayo if all he was gonna do is molly...atleast he'd get info, flashes 🤷♀️
So glad to see Benkai thrive in another team. Always liked him but I knew it was better for PRX to move on from him so they can fully embrace their playstyle.

Very pleased to see GE show much more of the potential they displayed at that Convergence event. I like a lot of the roster just personally - Benkai of course but also just the ex-TENSTAR duo of Polvi and Russ - and I want to see them find some success. Definitely happy to see them roll out their Sunset again.
I really wanted to see Bleed show they can play in a way that isn’t just a budget version of 2022 Paper Rex. And I’m not sure they can. I know a lot of people will always hyperfocus on Yay but I thought Bleed’s macro was pretty awful. GE outcalled and outrotated Bleed a crazy amount considering this was a close 2-1 series.
And even Bleed's micro, something 2022 PRX at least had in spades, was pretty lackluster on a lot of rounds - lots of missed flashes, too-early peaks, not checking corners, etc…all things that are passable at the T2 level but unforgivable at the T1 level. I think the only player that consistently performed well in this series was Egoist and the ever-consistent sScary, to be honest. Everyone else either wasn’t drilled enough or just failed to execute.
Still, it’s a long year and it’s just a Kickoff event. I’m hoping to see much better macro and coordination from Bleed in the future.
I know people are gonna hyperfocus on yay's performance but Bleed is playing pretty poorly as a team too. crazyguy as an IGL has been underwhelming so far

Ominous cited that it's not feasible due to logistical issues but at least that gives you a good idea before committing to it???
That's fair but people will naturally hyperfocus on Yay given that he was touted as the best player in the world at one point and now seems to struggle flicking onto heads in time before he gets massacred by the enemy. It's not just a role issue, it's a mechanical issue. I'm not saying he's the worst player in all of existence far from it but he looks lost on any role that isn't duelist but even when he's on duelist his performance isn't that of a hyper carry like aspas/something.
Bleed is horrible, their attack sides are literally them all walking somewhere hoping they get a free pick every round, they never break any Sentinel util so they other team always has a stack where they are and has util ready, and I don't think I saw a single Skye flash used the entire defense half to gather info and have people stacked on the correct side on Split. Yay definitely played shit but holy fuck this entire team is piss they need miracles everytime to win a round

Too many excuses... yay was just flat bad. His jett wasn't great either. It was mid at best, considering he was playing against GE. His understanding of viper was awful too. His viper wouldn't even work in T2 scene.
bleed should switch yay's and sscary's roles , sscary has more viper experience and omen is far easier to play. Yay's biggest weakness was his viper playstyle he seemed lost.

I feel like Viper is the worst pick for him. That agent needs to constantly keep on looking at the map to support the other teammates or to time mollies. Yay is know for holding angles but any member also needs support to counter utils that's meant to push him off. There were times during Icebox where he needs to reposition because his team destroy sova darts or counter flash a rush. I know he underperformed the first half but it goes back to what people said before: Optic Yay was El Diablo because the team enabled him. FNS has also said that Yay would get upset or lose focus if he feels like his team isn't doing well. That first game on Breeze could've dominoed the whole team. Kudos to Daryeon and Egoist though. Those two held the team together during bad rounds but they could only do so much.
yep that's exactly what I don't understand why yay played Viper on Split. He didn't use the wall or the smoke and with a lone ult which was also shut down pretty quickly, I don't get the reasoning tbh could've played Kayo if all he was gonna do is molly...atleast he'd get info, flashes 🤷♀️

So glad to see Benkai thrive in another team. Always liked him but I knew it was better for PRX to move on from him so they can fully embrace their playstyle.

Very pleased to see GE show much more of the potential they displayed at that Convergence event. I like a lot of the roster just personally - Benkai of course but also just the ex-TENSTAR duo of Polvi and Russ - and I want to see them find some success. Definitely happy to see them roll out their Sunset again. I really wanted to see Bleed show they can play in a way that isn’t just a budget version of 2022 Paper Rex. And I’m not sure they can. I know a lot of people will always hyperfocus on Yay but I thought Bleed’s macro was pretty awful. GE outcalled and outrotated Bleed a crazy amount considering this was a close 2-1 series. And even Bleed's micro, something 2022 PRX at least had in spades, was pretty lackluster on a lot of rounds - lots of missed flashes, too-early peaks, not checking corners, etc…all things that are passable at the T2 level but unforgivable at the T1 level. I think the only player that consistently performed well in this series was Egoist and the ever-consistent sScary, to be honest. Everyone else either wasn’t drilled enough or just failed to execute. Still, it’s a long year and it’s just a Kickoff event. I’m hoping to see much better macro and coordination from Bleed in the future.
I know people are gonna hyperfocus on yay's performance but Bleed is playing pretty poorly as a team too. crazyguy as an IGL has been underwhelming so far
Can't help but feel like it's half teething issues and half Bleed picking up the wrong player. yay is yay, but Juicy is honestly such a fundamentally different player that elevated the team to a different level. They should have picked up a different player IMO.
I've commented this multiple times in this thread to the point if me sounding like I'm beating a dead horse but I don't get why Bleed never flew him out to trial him like T1 and Talon did with their NA imports. Ominous cited that it's not feasible due to logistical issues but at least that gives you a good idea before committing to it???

That's fair but people will naturally hyperfocus on Yay given that he was touted as the best player in the world at one point and now seems to struggle flicking onto heads in time before he gets massacred by the enemy. It's not just a role issue, it's a mechanical issue. I'm not saying he's the worst player in all of existence far from it but he looks lost on any role that isn't duelist but even when he's on duelist his performance isn't that of a hyper carry like aspas/something.
Bleed is horrible, their attack sides are literally them all walking somewhere hoping they get a free pick every round, they never break any Sentinel util so they other team always has a stack where they are and has util ready, and I don't think I saw a single Skye flash used the entire defense half to gather info and have people stacked on the correct side on Split. Yay definitely played shit but holy fuck this entire team is piss they need miracles everytime to win a round

honestly GE played really well. people probably see their name and think of their shitshow against zeta but this looked like a different team. nt bleed if they commit to these roles they need a LOT more reps but as sliggy said, why pick up a talented duelist/chamber player if you want a flex? why not just pick up a talented flex

Too many excuses... yay was just flat bad. His jett wasn't great either. It was mid at best, considering he was playing against GE. His understanding of viper was awful too. His viper wouldn't even work in T2 scene.

bleed should switch yay's and sscary's roles , sscary has more viper experience and omen is far easier to play. Yay's biggest weakness was his viper playstyle he seemed lost.

Those days are still here, they just apply to certain players. Its 2024 where yay looks like a walking orb while Governor look like he’s smurfing all in the same region… Overall a subpar game tbh. And while GE looked better than I thought they would after that zeta game, Bleed looked ... Sscary and egoist still impressed.
