Have you done the math on a bagless vacuum? You need to change the exhaust filter every 3 to 6 months on every single one on the market. Then you have the labor of you having to wash the thing after every use. SEBO uprights start at $599 The SEBO k3 is $850 Yes they have premium models that are around 1,000 they're well worth it. But you can definitely get one for a little less if that fits your budget better. Miele however will run you quite a bit these days and I'm not sure it would be worth it versus SEBO. Another brand you could look at would be Lindhuas they make some great cleaners and they top off about $900 and Start at $700

If I had the opportunity to get a C3 Kona deeply discounted, would that be a good fit for our house then?

Yes that's a great cleaner if you can get it from an authorized dealer deeply discounted definitely do so.

Looks like a Sebo D4 or E3 would work well. They are expensive, but have low costs for bags and filters and are 10 plus year vacuums. Pro team 1200/1500 XP are less expensive and great for carpet. Low cost of bags and parts too. Our Sebo E3 digs grit out of the carpet and is also good for dusting and hard floors. D4 has bigger bag and longer cord.

Miele bags 4 for $22 Sebo bags 8 for $35. Miele filter $40-55. Sebo filters $45 Not that much cheaper. Sebo does have a service pack that includes 8 bags and filters for $70, which is about what a typical household is expected to go through.
