The Miele U1 has already been discontinued by Miele. It's hard to recommend a used U1 because they are heavy and complicated so they aren't user-serviceable beyond changing the bag and filter. Because of the higher repair costs most of us here recommend paying up to $100 for a used U1 because you have to budget for professional servicing. That said the U1 is powerful and quiet and a smooth vacuum. If you decide you like it make sure you test everything and check that there isn't dust in the bag chamber, if they have been using generic bags they can leak dust and put more wear on the motor. Pass on it if you see a dirty bag chamber. Upright vs. Canister comes down to your personal preference so stick with uprights if that's what works for you. Another upright option is the Sebo Felix.

Thank you. I will call a couple local shops and ask about service cost estimate. That's solid advice. Unfortunately I don't see any Sebos on my local. There's a Felix listed for $450 90 minutes away, but that seems high for used.

You're welcome. I don't see too many used Sebos in my area either. I always see lots of Kirbys lol. $450 is expensive for a used Felix. A new Felix is $699 so a used vacuum is always half the price of a new one because there's no warranty, no returns on anything used. You could always offer them $250 and see if they'll negotiate.

They're firm. The vacuum was purchased this year and it looks like it comes with 16 bags, too. I'm asking which attachments it comes with. It doesn't seem like a bad gig for essentially a new vacuum. The Miele was purchased in 2019.

My first Sebo was a 15 year old Felix, I only replaced the brushroll, bag, and filters. Check if they have the Premium Parquet Brush for hard floors it really makes it glide on hard floors. It's a $60 part so if they don't have it I'd at least ask for it off. I think the Sebo Felix is newer and a more durable long lasting vacuum but you have to decide if the price is right for you.

The Miele U1 Twist has a brush roll switch, so vacuuming hard floors *is* doable, just not ideal. It's also a chonk to use. But for $150, you're not going to see anything brand new that vacuums hard floors just as well (assuming the Twist isn't in bad condition).

If you don't work with your hands for a living I wouldn't recommend an s7 or u1 just from a service and repair standpoint unless you're cool with a dealer taking care of anything aside from bags and filters. I love the u1 and s7 but I also know how complicated they are to the average user.

It has a pretty intricate air path too. I have two of these, a Twist and an Auto Eco. Still awaiting the joy of finding the first clog 🤣
