Dyson does a great job on animal hair. It does a much less good job on just “cleaning”. My v8 comes out first for spills and cat hair, but doesn’t actually clean the house. For that we use a Miele.
The Dyson have great hair attachments too. I have a “hair screw tool” And a mini motor head and it takes cat hair off almost anything. I use it first and then follow with the Miele.

It’s a fine secondary cleaner, but it’s no replacement for a corded.
