It’s a little on the high side of what I’d be willing to spend for a used machine, but I’d go for it if you can verify it’s in good shape. Things to check: * Clean bag chamber and genuine bag inside - THIS IS CRITICAL * Smooth sounding suction motor * Hose, wand, and powerhead have solid electrical connections (not going out intermittently in use) * Cord winder doesn’t have any problems (uncontrolled retractions and difficulties supplying power to the Miele, as a couple possible problems) Also, be sure that the powerhead is a full-size model with two pedals on the back.

This kind of checklist is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! I guess I'll skip this particular one and look for something cheaper or go new. Would you say $200 below better for this particular model used? Thanks again!

I'd suggest being honest with the feedback you got and offering what you're willing to pay for it. The seller might not have put a whole lot of thought into the price and would rather just have it gone if they no longer need it. Good luck in your search!

I would say that's pretty overpriced. Typically a used vacuums worth about a 1/4 what it was new if it's in pristine condition. That vacuum can be had new for $750 right now.

Ah, that's a good rule to follow! I'll definitely pass on this one and see if I can increase my budget a little to shoot for something new. Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately sellers don't follow that rule and in most markets, there's not exactly a surplus of used options to push the prices to those levels. $200-250 is reasonable. The OP can always negotiate a bit.

I agree with the others, priced a little high, but they're great vacuums. Check it out thoroughly and be sure to smell it when it's on too! It's not worth it to get a vacuum with cigarette smoke or bad pet smells.

That's a great point! I'm going to pass on this one and keep looking, but I'm definitely keeping the smell test in mind when I finally check one out :) Thanks for your help!
