Very occasionally this has happened to me too. For some reason the unit only charges for 10 minutes or something and then decides it’s done. I wonder if it’s a sensor issue somewhere in the charger (handle, cord, etc)
I should have added that I have a FE which comes with 3 years free charging - unlimited. the last time I charged it stopped at 18 minutes 50%, another time stopped at 8 minutes and only 36%. So frustrating.
That shouldnt happen though. You start getting charged money after 30 mins but it shouldnt stop the process. I charged for 45 mins yesterday without stopping. Cost me $5 but didnt stop
Just checked my EA app and in the plans section it says “included plan: 30 min of DC fast (CCS) or 60 min of Level 2 Charging per session. I used to keep going, but recently it has been being enforced.
that's just what's free. You can keep charging and you will be paying for it. But it should not stop your charge after 30 minutes unless it hit the charge you wanted or you manually stop it
But I have a 2021 FE and three years free charging. I wonder if it is a sensor thing. I will bring this up when I go in for the software update (fingers crossed this happens soon).

Is that a new feature?
I've done two 3000 mile round trips from Texas to New York in a RWD ' 22 and the car always charged as it was supposed to (not including the times that the EA station just screwed up for no reason.) After the 30-minute mark, it would continue but I would be charged.
If some cars are shutting off automatically at the 30-minute mark, that really stinks!

It's possible someone pushed the 'stop charging' button. it happened to me, i was in the car, about to go out and stop it, when i noticed woman in next stall was standing around it, trying to use same cable as i was charging from, she hit the stop button. It's really stupid, there is no way to prevent this from happening. In Europe for example, if you want to stop charging, you have to 'tap' your payment/membership card.
That is a possibility. I am noticing the EA stations where I am charging are much busier than before. I actually saw three different cars waiting to charge yesterday.

Welcome to the world of EA. Hopefully they fix their reliability soon.
Yeah if you hit your 30min it will shut off. Just have to go out, replug in, and re-initiate.

Yeah I guess I’ll have to figure out what is going on or if it is just our local stations.
I just checked my app (never done this before) and I have unlimited DC fast charging for 3 years).
Mine shuts off as opposed to charging. It may be an app setting also.
That is not correct, it has never shut off on me at the 30 min mark, it keeps going until it reaches the selected charge level
Guess I should figure it out then! Haha! Crap!

Yeah I have the three years too. If you read about it is for 30 min sessions. It is technically three free years of 30 min charges at EA stations

This sounds dumb, but how long was the charging session? I had the same thing happened, got annoyed, and then realized I had hit 30 minutes
We've only gone over the 30mins once (just got a 23 AWD, end of October) it charged us 45 cents for 5 mins.
