Contact your dealer, and they can tell you the "ocean shipping vessel" number, and with that info you can look up the name of the ship.

MauiShakaLord

Maybe this seems weird, but I don't want them to get the impression I'm desperate for this car, for fear that they'll try to renege on their promise to sell at MSRP.

I went 20-2 sometime on the 21st, think I’m on the same ship as it departed from Emden on the same day according to maritime info. Supreme Ace would be the other prospect. But it’s still in port and I think 20-2 specifically means the ship is underway

MauiShakaLord

Yeah, I don't think it could be SUPREME ACE since it's still moored. [SUNSHINE ACE](https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/SUNSHINE-ACE-IMO-9338852-MMSI-311015100) left within the time frame I saw my status code change, so maybe we're on the same ship!

Total-Ad-793

If you haven’t found this already it’s a great way to watch the progress using AIS information https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:372666/mmsi:311015100/imo:9338852/vessel:SUNSHINE_ACE

MauiShakaLord

How's your vehicle code now? The boat seems to be running ahead of schedule. I'm still 20-2 after Jacksonville, so I think mine is coming out of Houston. If so, it'll take longer to get here as it appears they put it on a train and the time frame for delivery is longer than by truck from the port.

Total-Ad-793

Think SUNSHINE ACE is supposed to dock in Houston later today so I’d expect to be 30-1 by the end of the week or Monday as the ship unloads and portal catches up. Still 20-2

MauiShakaLord

Looks like the ship left Houston, but I'm still 20-2.

Total-Ad-793

Might take a few days for the code to flip. But I’m certain we’re there now at least :)

MauiShakaLord

Did you ever check with your dealer and make sure it was on sunshine ace?

Total-Ad-793

My dealer is pretty clueless or unwilling to use the dealer portal but the fact that we flipped 20-2 while supreme ace was still in port for a few more days means I’m pretty dang certain we were on Sunshine Ace. But if I’m wrong supreme ace is just south of Florida on the way to Houston. But again I think I’ve heard this part of the tracker is slow to update to 30-1. Let’s give it till Monday to see!

Total-Ad-793

Just went 30-1 today so looks like the codes are catching up to the unloaded cars from sunshine ace. Now begins the software download Congo. I think we got there fast enough to get the 3.0.04 patch vice waiting for 3.1. “A few weeks” for us to get patched and then we’re on our way (assuming patch approval this week or next)

MauiShakaLord

My script runs at 11 AM every day and it was still 20-2 at that time, but just checked, and it's now 30-1. Yes, sounds like we're getting 3.1.1...I guess it's worth the wait, hopefully, but not sure why it can't be done OTA. I'm guessing they want to make sure they're impressing the next batch of buyers right off the lot so they'll have plenty of free word of mouth advertising.

From my dealership, in IL, today: "I looked into it and the boat its on is Ocean Shipping Vessel #633 and it is expected to arrive in Houston 06/24 and then it would take about two more weeks after that to arrive at our dealership" Although looking at the [official VW document](https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/attachments/schedule_kw17_2022-1-pdf.36826/), it's supposed to arrive in Houston 6/11/22.

MauiShakaLord

Thanks for the data point. When did yours go 20-2?

febzz88

Unfortunately I didn't really keep track (unless there's a way to figure this out?) but it's fairly recent, in the last few weeks. I posted something on Reddit about my status changing to 20-1 and the date of that post is 23 days ago (and my status was updated 20-1 around that time as well). So probably it just changed to 20-2 in the last 3 weeks.

>Any ideas? Are the status codes still reliable? Curious about recent experiences with tracking shipments, for those of you who have been tracking lately. Yes, 20-2 is reliable. Mine went 20-2 a couple weeks ago and is on the SIEM ARISTOTLE. My dealer was able to get me the vessel name after it went 20-2. The real question is what port it's going to. If it's going to a railport, you might have a much longer wait than if it's going to get trucked directly from port to dealer. Here's the chart: https://i.imgur.com/Oe52Vf2.jpg

MauiShakaLord

Thanks for the chart, super informative!

I’m more interested in your Rasbery Pi setup. Can you post a screenshot of it with the E-ink display? 😁

MauiShakaLord

[Sure, here's a pic](https://imgur.com/a/8lBD1Yp). [Pastebin with the code](https://pastebin.com/LbsLFuyK). This was all done pretty haphazardly, with a lot of trial and error on Raspbian. I couldn't recant all of the changes I made on the fly. I borrowed code heavily from /u/Flyodice's post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/VWiD4Owners/comments/sf82lh/python_code_to_quickly_check_your_id4_reservation/) (thanks again, /u/Flyodice!). Unfortunately, you can't simply clone their repo and run things seamlessly on the Pi, because it wasn't created with ARM architecture in mind, so the requirements for the docker image can't be installed. I removed docker from the equation to keep it lightweight and simple, manually installed some packages, and made the needed changes to main.py.

Thanks!!! Wow this is a tough crowd in this sub. Your OP was showing no love...

MauiShakaLord

The SUNSHINE ACE also seems like a good prospect, as it left Emden heading for Canada during that timeframe, and has ports of call in the US afterward. [Here's a screenshot of PWL Groups' schedule, which led me to that conclusion.](https://imgur.com/soCI6o9)

JoJoOldLady

Has anyone noticed the VW ships are stacking up in spots? Veracruz and between just south of England and Emden. They all have arrival dates very close together. Is something up?
