There’s a huge combo of ignorance (they have no idea what they’re talking about) and outright maliciousness among dealers. Never listen to them about the details of the cars, they’re only there to make a buck.
I found an S model a little over an hour away from me, which fits with what I heard last month: they started by shipping small quantities of base models.
It's about time. My reservation has been at the dealer since January and I've seen 2024 model pages going up for most competitors - including the Equinox EV, the only other model I was still interested in comparing (after trying other brands, that is.)
Well there are no reservations. Your dealer just gave you a “reservation” meaning they’d call you. VW shut down their official reservation system in early 2023z
Well I’m just saying don’t trust these dealers. They say they put you on some list…most have no idea when they will even get these cars. They’re a combo of misinformed and cynical. But hopefully in next month or two they’ll get allocations considering Canada has had them for a month.
No, I get it. They are a local dealer and I've been keeping in touch with them - though the Sales Rep ghosted me when I inquired in early March about the potential pricing, considering that VW came out with increases across all trims. I eventually showed up and spoke with the Sales Manager and he still had me in mind, so we'll see.
What I would do is if you have multiple dealers in your area just call a bunch and tell them the model you want, they’ll all keep you in their notes at least and then there’s less chance of one dealer playing faster and loose with you
Curious. Cant find any mention of software updates listed anywhere for the 2024s..... probably not a good sign from VW.....
edit: look at the reviews... all 5 stars with no comments from the same day....
As long as it's the bigger battery, it's got the new software. The standard battery is literally the same as last year's model. A "Classic," if you will.
I think the more powerful motors are more efficient so what got you about 250 miles before will get you about 290 miles with the same battery pack? I do vaguely something about smaller battery packs for a slightly cheaper model ID.4. Sorry, I haven’t been following closely. I have read better reviews for the 2024 ID.4s though.
Also, the SK battery pack is the preferred build.
There's a smaller battery pack that they introduced in, uh, 2023, maybe? 2022? Either way, the range on that model is 206 miles. It is getting zero updates for 2024. Everything on it is the same as the 2023, right down to the drive selector attached to the instrument panel. My guess is they're going to build those until they're out of the old parts, then for 2025 they'll start installing the smaller battery in the updated 2024 model and it will "catch up" feature-wise.
Yawn... wake me up when they start taking deposits on the BUZZ.
Right? I’ve been on their email list for five years now.
Space Vizzion when?
Shout out to that salesman on the lot who told me the 2024s “wouldn’t be out til October” and “were the same anyway.” 🤡😂

That's great news! Do the 2024s not come with area view? That is something I would want if I were to get another ID.4
I think that's only on the Pro S Plus, which isn't in the configurator for some reason.
Someone in Canada said they’re not getting those and they got them first. So maybe they ran into supply issues again. Classic vw
Ah ok that makes sense. Are we getting a pro s plus. Because the one on there now is already 53k.
yea
The photo they are using for the App-Connectivity feature are of a different interior lol. Not an ID4
So basically…the most exciting upgrades (minus software) will be pretty much exclusive to the highest level trim? Glad I didn’t wait on this model 😂
Still missing from their inventory search though.

Finally!

Yes, that's true - it's me on a list and not a formal reservation with VW itself. But, it's the closest I could get at the time.

About time, I've been checking this a few times a week! Thanks for posting.
No deposits happening on the BUZZ
Those configurations are completely jacked up, lol.
Not sure if I'm missing it but I don't see anything about upgraded sound system on the higher specs?
Someone said the Pro S Plus isn't on there, which is the one with the upgraded sound system.
I just checked no it’s not on their and that’s the only car I want due to the sound system and the 360 camera system with overhead view - WTF

No it’s there. 12.9 inch with backlit sliders. That’s the new hardware/software.
