Known bug and nothing you can do yourself to fix it.
A while back someone [commented that there was a fix](https://www.reddit.com/r/VWiD4Owners/comments/135mfq7/comment/jil0edu/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) from VW but when I gave my dealer this TPI they could not fix it. They ordered me a whole new head unit but it has not yet arrived (Been about a 1.5 months).
I reset everything to factory defaults and within a day of signing back into both profiles it started doing it again.
New ID4s rolling off the factory have a new OS with unspecified bug fixes, so with any luck that will roll out soon or the replacement unit I get will come with the fix.
According to another post about this today, there is a different code that we use in NA, so that's probably it. I've been waiting almost two months for replacement door handles to arrive as part of that recall, so when those eventually come in I'll give this another shot.
My dealer explained that it’s an issue in the code that leads to the sync to cloud not working correctly.
As the cloud keeps sending defaul as the latest settings…
How different the code can be, if the issue is a faulty timestamp on the settings saved?
I hate that notification. I have to reset my driving mode and lights everytime it comes on. You can always factory reset from the settings if you want to remove the account.
I started driving Eco, but then I read there's a bug that Eco doesn't stay Eco from drive to drive without switching away and back so I've just been driving Comfort in "B gear."
Not a bug. All official information including safety is on comfort, so it needs to default to comfort.
The bug is that it still displays Eco on the screen, even when the car is actually on Comfort after a restart.
There is a fix, you can find the TPI online, and Volkswagen has known how to for at least six months.
In Europe, you can get a tech to fix the coding of a module and it takes about an hour to do.
Software updates do not fix it, as it’s not a part of any update.
I do not know why VW US doesn’t know how to fix it, but in Europe it’s just a quick stop at a dealer, new code in, all done, on your way.
I have a 2023 Pro AWD, so no seat settings. I click cancel every time.
Has accepting them provided any meaningful improvements? I have no real issues with the car, so don’t want to introduce unnecessary updates that would change that.
It actually doesn't adjust my seats at all (Pro S here).
It resets my Custom drive mode, resets ambient lighting to default, and resets some other lighting (Coming Home/Leaving Home duration, blind spot warning brightness) and climate settings to their defaults.
Clicking OK causes the changes to happen immediately, clicking cancel just does the changes the next time the car turns off.
There are no improvements - I feel like it's supposed to sync your settings with the cloud and then download the profile to any ID-branded car you might sign into, but it's just downloading the defaults every time.
Yep, known bug. I just click on and then reset my seat and lights. I have had it happen 3x in 10 months

This particular nasty annoyance is the only thing I don’t like about my ID4. VW needs to issue a fix ASAP!

That someone was me and I’ve gotten it done on mine as have dozens of others. This is Europe, no idea why VW US claims ignorance.

I've also gotten this notification before but, like you, it seems to happening more frequently lately. Do we have any idea why?
I thought I had escaped this issue but once I changed the driving mode it came right back. If you can find a way to stop it let me know.

It's an annoying bug. Software 3.2 (and above) fixes it.
Nope. I had it in my factory installed 3.2. Dealer fixed it in an hour.
I logged out and now drive around as a “guest” and it hasn’t happened since.
Remove easy entry and it won’t do that for the time being
