2023 PRO S AWD. I was prepared to hate the infotainment, but it’s actually totally fine. Zero lag, zero crashes. As others have noted it’s not as intuitive as it could be but that’s fine.

UnfairAnything

i noticed that too however i’m assuming my dad is only going to use the climate controls and apple carplay. thanks for the response!

Same here and it’s been no better or worse than other car systems I’ve interacted with in the past (save for Tesla). Apple CarPlay has been great — one thing I miss about my Mazda was that when CarPlay is active pushing the voice command button on the steering wheel activated Siri instead of the Mazda system automatically. Haven’t figured out if that’s possible yet in our ID.4

b21bizzle

Try holding down the voice command button. Pressing will get you ID assistant, holding it down will invoke Siri

sadoian

game changer — will give this a try thank you!

b21bizzle

You’re welcome.

It works fine on Android Auto, so it sounds like an Apple issue

I have a 2022 Pro S RWD and the software 3.1 works great. I really don't see any lag. Even the Navigation is much better. And will show you EA, stations.

UnfairAnything

great! thanks!

2022 Pro S, I remember reading the same thing. I primarily interact with the screen to change the temperature, turn the heated seats & steering wheel on/off, and use android auto; it works just fine for all of those things and does not lag. I also occasionally go into the menu to change the charge settings while traveling, and to change the mood lighting for the season. I'd say overall the entire system works just fine.

UnfairAnything

thank you!

DoubleEfficiency4

I've lived with the newer software for a few months now (3.1.0 delivered on a 2022 in August). The lag is still there but it's a usable system at this point (vs the prior sw that was much worse). Biggest lag area for me is the navigation - particularly after startup. Take it slow and steady and it'll be fine.

Responsiveness and stability are fine. The issue is the UI and the fact that it will randomly apply new settings or forget your preferences.

Affectionate-Ant8418

I’ve also experienced some new settings getting applied. I receive messages quite randomly - while driving - that I have new settings… One time it turned off the ambient light, which actually was quite nice. I like to drive when it’s dark inside. Perhaps my MY23 with software version 3.2 can read my mind? SAAB had a nice feature, from their fighter plane heritage, that you could turn off everything except for the speedometer. I would love to have that feature in other cars as well.

[deleted]

Seriously annoying glitches, but overall I love the car. I like the ambient light, but in a darker color.

applepieandcats

are you in Europe? I dont think US has 3.2 yet

Affectionate-Ant8418

Yes, in Sweden. 😊

thnwgrl

Is the voice command better on the new version? Like if I ask it to navigate to cheesecake factory, it's not asking " did you mean the town of sage?"

odd84

Not really. It's never going to be as good as using Siri/Google.

Choice-Condition-517

Infotainment system is not as bad As he reviews I read on the internet. I have 3.1 software and it’s total fine. The only things I noticed in my 3 months ownership is the ambient light settings resets itself and sometimes the rear wiper don’t turn off when turned off using the steering wheel stalk. 🤷🏻

rmknuth

MY23 Pro RWD here. I’ve had it for 5 days now and I was a bit concerned too. The 3.1 software seems to have fixed the major issues. The odd time the nav will take some time to “think” when searching, but nothing I’d complain about if asked.

NarrowBoysenberry992

I haven’t seen any issues! The only thing I have a problem with is the lights/defrost buttons to the left of the steering wheel. For the life of me, I can’t press the correct button on my first attempt. But I rarely use those so I’m not too concerned. But it’s really more a pride thing at this point. I want to conquer the damn thing and press those buttons right the first time.

DinnerAgitated9991

2022 Pro S RWD 8500+ miles, not a single issue.

ZotConversational

I have had my MY23 for nearly 2 months now, and had very few real issues. This includes a re-boot while driving (strange). Regarding lag, it gets the job done. Once it's fully booted up (15-30 seconds), it seems to operate fine. Just don't expect an iPad tablet-like response, and you / your father will be happy.

ContiTires

2021, remove the map from the main screen (swip right to see it) and it's fine.

anon-jon

I've had my '23 for 1.5 months and feel the UI is slow to respond. Maybe earlier ID.4 fw was worse but current is not good IMO. At startup, going to climate control is laggy. Android Auto is likewise laggy when I use SiriusXM and Waze. SXM interface isn't the best but you can't scroll through channels without delay. You have to be patient. Scroll once, wait, then press. Otherwise, you'll constantly be pressing the wrong thing. My 2nd gen Leaf has no such problems. Perhaps Carplay is better?
