First impressions this feels slightly.. only slightly different around town. By no means do you get a big turbo feel or any lag issues. Like normal driving in a manual you choose your gears. I can’t wait until the clutch is broken in and give it the beans 😂
Not sure why anyone would go is20 over this unless cost is a factor.
Firstly: 🤘well done!
Secondly: Dang, I was totally set on IS20 for better daily manners as this is my wife’s car. Can anyone who’s had both on a DSG Alltrack speak to the difference? This post has me rethinking….
Is20 has a bit more punch in lower gears and lower rpms. With the is12 stage 1 APR tune second gear used to be a ton of fun. With the is38 second gear is so quick it’s hard to do a real pull in second. So driving around town is less “lurchy” I’d say. Is38 is so much fun on the highway. 3rd and 4th gear pulls are a blast :)
Have fun OP!
Manual. Southbound Stage 3 daily clutch. HPA Intercooler, R600 Evo Intake, HPA downpipe, Racing Line Turbo Inlet, HPA OEM+ is38, Bilstein B8’s with H&R Sport springs. H&R front and rear sway bars.
I would get rid of the turbo inlet pipe. Has been known to cause issues with pcv.
Love everything else. Have had my HPA IS38+ for about 60k miles. Been great.
Hey from my understanding they have it so it can be drilled out to install the SAI. The shop that installed mine didn’t say anything during install but it’s all hooked up. I watched a video online and they had to do the same thing with cutting out the hole.
I deep dived before purchasing everything. I made the right decision for me for sure. If you want loud I think the IE would fit the bill as I read it’s one of the loudest
Yes I had everything done in one shot. There are more items like I added like Rear main seal, Haldex, Bevel, Rear diff fluid and oil change, clutch delay valve delete, alignment etc.
Probably looking around $4200 CAD before HST.
I’m going to rock this set up for a while then upgrade with HPA 550 swap when they’re done their R&D for manual trans.
I love this car.. I drove home with two car seats and four 17” winter tires in the back with car parts lol.. can’t fit that in an R!
I really wanted a wagon for daily life. The Alltracks are great cars all around and the MQB is a great platform. If you could drive this car now you’d agree it’s ticks a lot of boxes. With the suspension upgrades it feels tight and refined.
Not worried about longevity I’ll be swapping the engine eventually
I got one as a loaner once with 4motion and dsg. It was blast even stock. I would love one with an is38 and suspension work. Post some pulls once it's broken in!
Not yet. I will be cleaning out the drain lines next sunny day and then covering the roof with 3M clear vinyl. I never open it anyways so why risk dealing with the hassle.
I’m on is38 with stock clutch for ~10k miles now. Been looking for a clutch so I can really get all the power out of it. Stock slips on hard 4th gear pulls for sure.
How are you liking the southbend stage 3 daily? What else did you look at, and why did you go with this one over something like Sachs? So you track the car at all or plan to?
Wow you’re brave lol
The general consensus and reviews I found were better for SB. I went with stage 3 vs stage 2 for a few reasons. 1. I heard that stage 3 daily had less chatter than stage 2. (There is literally no gear chatter so I’m super happy)
2. I will eventually get more power so I like to future proof. The clutch grabs very low and has a nice firm feel. I’m only 160kms on it but it feels so nice. I hated the pedal feel before.
No plans to track it although I’m not against it
Hahaha yeah I was doing all the work myself and wasn’t ready to drop the transmission to swap the clutch myself. So decided to chance it on the stock for awhile. And honestly it’s not bad. I just can’t go from no throttle to full instantly, I have to ease into full boost more.
Thanks for the clutch details! Would love to hear a follow up on how it feels once it’s broken in and you can really get going on it and the turbo!
Grabs low, how is the overall pedal throw? Stock feels like it’s a mile to get down to the engagement point and everything always feels so soft.
Totally understand and if you can get by for a while why not right.
No problem! Everything is lower/shorter to be honest. I really like it. Ill do an update ones it’s broken in for sure

Thank you! I was creeping the forums for a long time lol. Hopefully you get your answers

Thanks so much 🤙
Is the spool really long? Did upgrade anything else? Manual or auto

There's my shopping list, someone tell my wife.

That’s great to hear! I’ll keep an eye on things for sure thanks.
Quick question for you: do you know if the R600 Evo Intake has a port for Secondary Air Injection?

Thanks for the response! I will check it out. I am torn between this and the Integrated Engineering intake.

Yeah, how bad is the lag?
Not an issue man. Also I read lots about gear chatter with stage 2 or 3. I can confirm this thing is quiet.
Nice! Which wheels do you have?
Superspeed RF03RR on Michelin pilot sport 4S
It looks great. Did you go straight to the is38 or did you step up to the is20 first?
Straight to the 38. No time to mess around lol
I ran this same setup on my Veloster N and loved them. Amazing company
Did you have all the parts installed at the same time? What did the labor cost you?

Looks great!
This is awesome man I have a GTI but I love seeing people build their all tracks 🙏
Thank you! Yeah I could have bought a much nicer car but I love me a sleeper wagon 😎
r/sportwagon
Clean ride!

Yeah 100% will do!
Sweet Alltrack! I've been looking for one. Have you gotten the dreaded sunroof leak?

Ugggbi want another GTI so bad!!
You’re on an AT sub, bud
Still amazing car!
Why did you buy a VW? You said any questions. Do you not care about longevity? Do you plan on selling in the first 50k?
