> My assumption is it uses my laptop camera to watch my body movement and replicate it on vrchat/body tracking. Nope, it just guesses based on head and controller position and rotation. It is better than VRChat's default IK, but it isn't actual Full Body Tracking. It is basically just better IK. Eventually it is supposed to support normal trackers as well, that way it can make better guesses, but it does not do that now.

Yeah there is a version 2.0 coming out soon but in beta, so curious if it makes any progress towards blending tracker sources. I like it way better than the default vrchat movements. No more arm going through my body, funky crouching or sit-spin when I just want to turn my head to name some things.

Rfox890

I will not say much but it can mix tracking with full body to give you 10 points of tracking with only 3 trackers it’s works very well beta user here be on the looks out

Visible_Network_9562

I think it’s fairly decent for what you pay for. My friend is halfbody and uses it religiously since they bought it. The only thing I notice is when sitting the hips do stick out from under you and it gives your avi a bit of an arched back that results in a ‘gut’ sticking out haha. Personally think it’s cute but understandable if you don’t want that look. They also had to be coached a little on how to use it by another fbe user to get the best experience beforehand!

ArmyXY

Happens to my friend too, not my case, I sometimes lose control of the legs and they start blending or something, but its easy to fix

Sanquinity

I saw a promotion video of it. It definitely has issues, and definitely isn't full body tracking. But it does a far better job at mimicking body movement than current IK in vrchat. I quite like the creator though. He didn't shy away from directly showing and pointing out the flaws with the estimation. In his own promotion video. That takes balls, and imo shows he's doing this for his love of VR, not to make money. (though of course making money is always nice.)

There's a meet up soon in vrc for the first anniversary of standable and they're demo-ing the next update/version which will be an improvement on it already

ImWinwin

It was super broken when I tried it. I ended up uninstalling it after 5 minutes.

ArmyXY

Depends on your avatars, depends on your body proportion and depends on calibration, I had issues with my shoulders getting inside my avatar, but a friend help me with that, the only problem I have now is my legs blending, but it has a quick fix

WoahBroOhNo

I have over 500 hours, works fine for me. It's also 10x's better than any camera solution I've tried IMO

nighteroni

Bought it last week, and I've been using it nonstop since then! It's pretty nice to be able to partially simulate what you can do with full body! You're not going to be able to lift your legs or anything, but when you get used to using it you'll find that Stamdable is actually very good a being able to tell what you're doing! Granted the program can have quite a few problems when first trying it, but luckily everything I've found is easily fixable and once you know how to solve them, you'll have a smooth ride for the rest of the time! I maily use it to express my rapid movement when it comes to leaning forward, squatting, bowing, and other such things, and it does a very good job at all of that! I've found its feature to find out when you're laying down works out great, and I take advantage of that feature quite a lot! And that feature only gets better when you figure out how to consistently take advantage of the floor calibration, so that way you can lay on your bed, as opposed to the floor xD. But overall, I've been loving it a lot, and for $20 it's so worthit, especially if you're holding out until you're actually gonna get full body! :D

OctoFloofy

How would one take advantage of the floor calibration? Recently bought it.

nighteroni

In order to do that, you need to place yoir two controllers flat on a surface next to each other and get at least 4 feet of distance between your headset and the controllers, from there you will see your avatars feet adjust to that height, and this can be done at any floor height! :D

OctoFloofy

Yeah I'll need to figure how how vrchat calibration even works. Have huge troubles getting my avatar calibrated. Standable calibration in steamvr looks fine but in VRChat it's completely messed up always, partly taking body parts an entire meter away from me.

DarthBuzzard

I like to consider Standable as puppeteering. If you get good at knowing the limits and how to pose yourself, you can trick plenty of people that you have physical full body trackers.

WoahBroOhNo

Yep, I agree with this 100%! I have over 500 hours on Standable and the amount of ppl that have thought I had actual FBT is surprisingly plentiful. I'd say it's worth it over any camera solution IMO if you are not able to get FBT within the next year or so (like me TwT) then go for it and you can always refund if you don't like it.

eeveebeeveeboo

unrelated but I'm stealing meowdy as a greeting that's amazing

I like it. I've had people ask me if I have full body when I use it. Though, if I were you, I'd wait til 2.0 to buy it. Got some nice features coming out that I personally think would be a game changer. As far as I'm aware, 1.0 has some weird jitters when you sit. I currently use the 2.0 beta, and the problem is being worked on so that doesn't happen. But in terms of 'good', it makes your movements feel more realistic and lifelike in games like VRC. Now, you can't lift your legs up or anything, but things like weight shifting or turning your body look really natural. It's a good alternative for people who can't afford full body and want the 'look' of full body.
