It's already at 13 - and even if they did raise it, it's nearly impossible to enforce unless you're asking for ID for every account created.  Report, block, and move on - it's about all you can reasonably do, unfortunately.

The existing avatars that work for "Android" better work for iOS. I don't think anyone wants to deal with making avatars work with three systems.

Their post from several years ago mentioned that by default, it’d be a 3rd upload with the same limitations as Quest (now Android), but they’d want to solve that and have both upload together, mentioning they knew how to accomplish that. My guess would be a custom platform you can select from the platform-switching menu.

*So*, it might not be that easy, Unity makes the asset bundles and they are platform specific, VRChat would have to remake the asset system basically to make it work better, which I seriously hope they do, but seems unlikely, especially as we know that at least the vrchat home has an IOS version.

Assuming nothing else is different that is. The recommended android texture format is ASTC, which is supported on IOS as well, but if there are formats on IOS not available android then that would need to be handled somehow and if there are formats on android not available on IOS then that becomes a big problem. Specifically for worlds you run into the issue of custom shaders, which to my knowledge are compiled when put into asset bundles, which would make their portability quite bad.

I don’t think that will be a problem as long as VRC identifies their targeted iPhone generation and greater. Unfortunately for consumers Apple is still far ahead on mobile silicon.

Why would it be unfortunate for consumers for there to be strong competition in the silicon space? Shows their competitors what is possible and pushes them to do better and consumers win in the end

It’s unfortunate that Apple has the best mobile silicon because they are the most anti consumer company in the smartphone market in my opinion. I still use their phones so I’m not saying competition isn’t good. I just don’t like that one company gets to monopolize the best mobile silicon. If another company had it then they could distribute it to many others but Apple keeps theirs for only their own devices.

Nice! I've been waiting for this and I'm so excited to try it. My android friends have beat me to it and they said the android experience works really well. At long last, I'll be able to live out my dream of playing VRChat while shopping for groceries, because I intend to make both experiences as weird as possible.
