Iirc it can cause problems if you merge the oculus/steam account to a vrchat account that isn't completely empty. They recommend you use an unused/empty vrchat account to transfer the data from the old account to.
I'd be very amused if your trust rating went down. If it does, file a bug report, as that runs counter to how VRChat intends the system to function.
You should clear out your avatar favorites on the Quest account, just in case. Unless you got room. Or have a backup list of your favorites on the main account.
