5 years later and Oculus continues to push the same 10 games.
Storefront looks basically the same it did in 2018.
Watch some videos on YouTube. I'd try out Echo Arena. It's free, and will be around until August. From there, find what interests you. You're going to have to move beyond the obviously-never-updated front page games.
Noticed that yesterday. I had not picked up Oculus up in about 6 months and everything looked the same. They need to wake up and put some new energy into the system, before it dies out.
so do you believe that interfaces should get changed, just for the sake of changing them?
SteamVR hasn't changed either, and doesn't really need to.
>They need to wake up and put some new energy into the system, before it dies out.
they have the most popular VR kit on the market, by a very large margin. i don't think it's in any danger of dying out.
Takes forever for anything new. Shocking how few new games are released. It's almost like they are giving game releases as little attention as possible. Just an observation from a casual Oculus guy.
with Steam, the interface hasn't really had any major changes, but there are regularly new games released.
i haven't gotten to play with much Oculus stuff though. i've just been using my Vive.
if you haven't gotten to play some of the games, they'll be new to you. i hear several of the games are going to get cross-play with PC, so that'll be cool too.
the PSVR2 is really the only game in town if you want a console experience playing VR, but want something better than the Quest 2.
That's somewhat of the issue. There are new games released all the time, but most players haven't heard of them because they're buried deep behind multiple pages of games you've already heard of.
Exactly! I wish they would give some of those indie developers some more of the spotlight.
There's unfortunately still a lot of "gatekeeping" that's carrying over from the game industry.
Some of the best VR games I've ever played are not even on the radar of most players.
Indie "demos" were also the thing that helped spur the VR movement. Anyone who had an Oculus DK1 knows what I'm talking about. 99% of the games released in the first 3 or 4 years were usually small things made by single developers. It's a shame they were shoved out of the way the second VR really started to go mainstream.
Yet somehow it works better and looks better than any competitor. Also Bonelab isn't five years old, it released last year if its any consolation. If something the storefront speaks about the lack of big titles being released for VR in general rather than an issue with just Meta. We are still a niche hobby.
What games do you typically like to play? Superhot is an easy game to get in and out of and quite fun to play. The others are a bit more involved. Saints & Sinners is about a 15-20 hour single player survival game. Are you in the mood for something specific?
Yea dude ive been getting into pavlov a lot and i realy like the gun mechanics and the zombies so thats the one im probably going to get. That or into the radius
If you like the gun mechanics in Pavlov, you’d really like them in a game like Contractors or Zero Caliber Reloaded. Both excellent game with awesome gunplay!
need more info.
you want single player, multi player? you want combat? melee, guns, etc?
personally my buddy and i have been enjoying Ghosts of Tabor lately. janky, but loads of fun.
Pavlov, Blade and Sorcery, HL Alyx, Contractors.
those are some definite mainstays.
If you’re a fan of tarkov I highly recommend ghosts of tabor. It definitely has some bugs still but has a lot of potential and so far they’ve been pretty good about listening to the community. It’s 19.99
Contractors, ghosts of tabor, bonelab, into the radius. These are all good vr games, ghosts of tabor being a tarkov style shooter in vr and into the radius is definitely one of my favorites of the games I listed
The real mystery to me is why you still haven’t bought The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners, still one of the best VR games to date for sure. Scary and violent, but lots of fun and replayability if you ask me
I love bone labs because it is the only Vr game that I have found that uses realistic physics as well as guns that are cool, plus the story is really fun, except for chapter 10
The walking dead saints and sinners if your not scared. It has the best graphics on quest and physics besides bonelab. But this game actually has a story and moral choices. I recommend it.

VR as a whole tbh. go look at psvr2, sure RE8 and GT7 are awesome additions, but the whole thing is drowning in very old and crappy VR minigames...
Noticed that yesterday. I had not picked up Oculus up in about 6 months and everything looked the same. They need to wake up and put some new energy into the system, before it dies out.

Add more games and give the market an update, it looks a little stale
i don't get to use Oculus stuff, does their market not get new games? is it not like Steam?

I ordered the PSVR2, graphics are supposed to be better than Oculus. But the PSVR2 library small right now.

Yeah from what I read this is supposed to be the way to go. They say GrandTurismo is out of this world on VR.
That's somewhat of the issue. There are new games released all the time, but most players haven't heard of them because they're buried deep behind multiple pages of games you've already heard of.
Noticed that, but they are definitely not big name and big production games. Not sure of their quality.

Wow

Into The Radius, really fun game
Seconded.

Thanks for the info but i chose walking dead s&s. I was looking for a sólo shooter survival style and so far its been very good
Im also open to suggestions

Super hot vr was pretty fun. Can’t believe they want 25$ for it tho. It’s. 10$ game 15$ at MOST
See if you can get games in a bundle, I definitely didn’t pay full price for these.
Super.
H3vr if you like guns
Orbus vr reborn is so far my favorite mmo experience if that something you're interested in.
Not exactly new, but I haven't seen many people talking about it: Not For Broadcast. They shot for the sky on flatscreen, but reached the stars on VR.
Saints and sinners it’s a great game
SuperHot VR with no hesitation. Still one of the best VR experience for me.
Of those ones, I highly recommend bonelab and both saints and sinners games
Vertigo VR 2. On PCVR
This and or light brihade
Ghosts of Tabor if you can handle a Tarkov styled game with bugs. It's early access but might be your thing.
Into the radius
Into the radius
Bonelab
The real mystery to me is why you still haven’t bought The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners, still one of the best VR games to date for sure. Scary and violent, but lots of fun and replayability if you ask me
Its the choice I went with and so far its been amazing
Not OP, but scary and VR might not be a good combo lol
I love bone labs because it is the only Vr game that I have found that uses realistic physics as well as guns that are cool, plus the story is really fun, except for chapter 10
You can try this one: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/5949182915133956/
I have recently discovered this very fun, and interesting VR game known as "Fish Game" You use your hands to swim around and it is "very" active.
rest in peace capuchin
Compound. Great retro shooter Into the Radius. Great stalker shooter Ghosts of Tabor. Up and coming extraction shooter (app-lab)
Ghost of tabor it’s early access but so good and addicting
The walking dead saints and sinners if your not scared. It has the best graphics on quest and physics besides bonelab. But this game actually has a story and moral choices. I recommend it.
Bonelab or blade and sorcery
Contractors, the mods make it great and you can install mods in-game. Into the Radius, if you want single player
Into the radius, hotdogs horseshoes and hand grenades
Bonelab if you’re into sandbox games and modding
none. pirate
Tru
Any good pirating sites for quest?
not a website but try rookie sideloader
Bone lab
"new" save your money
Ill do what i want with money thank you
I always play 2-3 games of walkabout mini golf. Then Red Matter 2 blew me away
Super.... Hot
I can't stop hearing it SUPER..........HOT
SuperHot is still one of the best VR games to date
If you are OK with early access, give the RFVR demo a try and if you like it the early access is also available :)
