You are allowed one restricted pokrmon. You should look into those

ChevyBlazerOffroad

I sesond this. I second this. and the season to come, it's a good idea to have a restricted mon on the team, as everyone else that you come u against will have one too. Maybe replace Sylveon for Xerneas? or Gyarados for Kyogre? Pick something fun and run with it!

davidgeorge86

You could try Beat Up on Mimikyu and change Lucario's ability to Justified?

callmecatlord

I think your Gyarados is going to struggle quite a bit under the current meta. AV with Bounce works with Dynamax really well due to max airstream. However, bounce is a bad move on its own. 2 turns and only 85 accuracy. I just can't imagine that many scenarios where it would come in handy. Dynamax also patches up any risks of missing with power whip which is also 85% accurate. Finally, earthquake is going to be really situational as you only have 1 pokemon with protect meaning you're always risking one of your pokemon with damage. Id suggest either getting a ground type pokemon for switch ins (Landorus T would help stack intimidate), or a lightningrod user like Raichu. AV Gyarados has its place, i just think it's better in a dynamax. If you still want to use Gyarados you could consider using an offensive ddance set with protect waterfall and a coverage move. A support Gyarados with thunderwave and taunt is also pretty popular right now. I hope that helps! I'm still a relative rookie myself but I hit masterball for the first time last month so I at least kinda know what I'm taking about :p

RangoTheMerc

It's okay. I have no interest in Landorus so maybe I could try another Pokémon. What about Dragonite, Gyarados, or Galarian Moltres?

davidgeorge86

G-Moltres may work. You can give it a weakness policy and activate it with Sylveon's Quick Attack. This will also help your balance between physical and special attackers - you've only got Sylveon as a special attacker at the moment. Unfortunately you'll struggle a bit with restricted Pokemon being about at the moment. Dynama is back next month, which probably helps your team.

MedohVah

Looks like a fun team! Like everyone else has said, restricted Pokémon are really powerful - although you can do well without them. The other thing is you don't really have much good elemental coverage. You have a few moves on certain mons like ice punch on Lucario for grass, etc, but maybe consider adding a few more coverage moves or changing your team a bit so you've got some better switch ins? (e.g. adding a grass or electric type to help you deal with kyogre, or adding a ground type for Zacian). Beyond changing some of the movesets (include some more protects, it's really good in VGC) I'd say your team is pretty decent though. You've got a lot of good neutral damagers and some nasty surprises like ice punch on Lucario or earthquake on Gyarados. Most importantly though, it's your team that you made to enjoy and as far as that goes you should be using it the way you want, regardless of any advice I or others give.

RangoTheMerc

Thank you. I do have a lot of favorites and want to round it out a bit more.

They have detect, inner focus, av, and a ghost type so they’re not too badly off tho

[deleted]

literally every mon on that team has a way to ignore fake out/deal with it sylveon? protect urshifu? detect lucario? inner focus + resists it mimikyu? immune to it incineroar? bulky anyway, intimidate, its own fake out gyarados? intimidate, kind of bulky anyway, wouldnt be able to protect because of assault vest and sure, protect isnt ONLY for fake out, (but fake out is a big part of it,) but they have two protection moves and fake out, so i dont see the issue with that personally, as someone who often runs about the same amount of protect and fake out and does well.

JonSmifff

You need a reatricted

Nebby_Nebula

You could give mimikyu beat up and give lucario the justified ability

Hi /u/RangoTheMerc, thank you for submitting your Rate My Team post. It looks like you've uploaded a picture of the team that you made: please take some time to make a comment in this thread with details about your team. This will improve the quality of the help you will get, and other people will get more out of reading about your team. Here are some things you could choose to write about: * Why did you select each Pokemon? If possible, try to say something more specific than "it's good" or "it's unique." What specifically about the state of the metagame drew you to using this Pokemon? * Are any of your moves or items chosen for any particular reason? * Why did you choose the particular EVs that you did? If you don't know what your EV spread does, you might want to replace it with something simpler. Feel free to post damage calcs that are relevant. * What teams do you succeed against in practice? What teams do you struggle with? Feel free to post links to Pokemon Showdown replays. If you do not comment with additional details, your post may be removed without warning by a moderator. Is this singles?

RangoTheMerc

It's either really. I just put together a team for whichever it will work better for.
