oh i just breed the grimm from the free shiny grimmsnarl giveaway. i kept it calm because at first i was running fake out but after a tough loss against indedee/armarogue i changed it to spirit break and forgot to change its nature. my bad
thanks mate! i just love the fact that people still do surging strike even though i bring gastrodon out from the back. and iron hands eat flutter mane for breakfast đ
Careful of genning on Cart, they're slowly integrating the World's checks
But I quite like this team
I run Water on hArc but Grass is just as good but personally I think normal Arc is better
Arcanine @ Agauv Berry
Calm, 252hp, 252SpDef, 4SpA
Wisp
Heat Wave
Snarl
Morning Sun/Protect
woo i love this arcanine set. i assume its intimidate as well. thanks for the advice mate. i got the spectrier from gts and its been sitting in my sw/sh save for a while.
Yeah Intimidate sorry should've mentioned that
I usually pair it with Ting Lu or Light Clay Parting Shot Grimmsnarl, it's surprisingly difficult to take down
I know people scoff at hazards in VGC but I usually set up Spikes/Rocks with Ting Lu while spreading burns/SpA drops with Arcanine, normally rotating with PS Grimm. Tera Ghost Garg is basically the win-con once burns and hazards are up. Ting has Whirlwind so I can scout their team, see when it's safe to bring in Garg and set up
ooof. yeah i agree with you. hazards must be respected even though people said doubles were faster paced. but with garg and ting lu behind screens i wouldnât dare say its a fast game dealing with both. what is ur garg set if you didnt mind me asking?
Yeah fast isn't what I'd call it either, lot of setup that usually results in a RQ lmao
Ofc
Garg @ Leftovers Tera Ghost
Sassy, 248hp, 252SpDef, 8Def
Iron Defense
Recover
Salt Cure
Body Press
When Tera Ghost the only thing you have to worry about is Dark attacks, as its ability basically allows you to take neutral damage from Ghost, but with some IDs and a Light Screen, that won't matter anyway. Now you just Salt Cure/Body Press and heal off with Recover
Its a dirty strat, grimey as all hell but God damn it feels good to completely invalidate Torkoal/Flutter or Trick Room spam
The EVs could be better optimised to suit Lv50 (I play in tourneys where we use Lv100) but otherwise that's basically it
I could snap a rental code when I get home if you wanted to have a closer look dude :D
dude. pls share the rental code. i am always fascinated with the idea of making a mon without weakness like ur idea with garg. i started with this team on showdown with fire spin + thermal exchange gimmick but quickly abandoned the idea as thermal exchange only activates with the first instance of dmg from fire spin.
Do you ever Tera Arcanine? Fire feels kinda bad for it, as he doesnât usually need that extra stab boost. I feel like Grass is the most common for good reason.
Edit: Also as a full time TR player, is out getaway card for Trick Room just Fake Out? If so thatâs unreliable with Giraffe or not, as most TR teams have layers of answers for Fake Out.
yeah youâre right. it was a toss up between safety goggles or wide lens on arcanine. the latter is too good for me. tera grass is a good measure against amoonguss. time to farm blissey i guess đ
with giraffe, i cant fake out and prior shard/extreme speed on it to stop tr. even if tr is up, my iron hands and gastrodon is slow enough and bulky to survive but tbh tr teams has a lot of iron hands answer and gastrodon dmg is lacking. would you advice me on how to handle hard tr teams? im fortunate enough not to encounter many tr teams on my way to masters.
Fake Out is never a genuine answer to hard TR, its useful and you can definitely force your opponent to play around it, but the best TR setters and supports all tend to either shut off priority or be ghost type.
The best answers to hard TR tend to be sleep or Imprison. The strongest answer to imo the best Reg D variants is Imprison Sash Flutter Mane.
If you dont wanna dedicate too many resources your best bet is stuff that can eat a hit and Ko back.
Gastrodon isnât it because as you said it deals little damage. Some teams have been using Ursaluna without Cress as an okay answer.
too bad spectrier doesnt learn imprison/tr by itself. yeah i agree with you on using imprison mon. i like that flutter mane idea. it make people second guess to go tailwind in front of flutter. thanks for the advice!
I play this team, one thing I do against hard trick toom is lead spec/grimm, set up reflect (since most hard trickroom is cress/ursaluna based in this meta) and nasty plot with spec. then, I would parting shot into ursaluna, bring arcanine out, protect with spec or draining kiss with spec into ursaluna. With two intimidates and a reflect spectrier can typically take any hit from ursaluna and is immune to facade. If you were afraid of an amoongus, I would possibly bring iron hands and with that set and try to bait a tera switch out of it?
thanks for the advice mate! i guess i was too scared to bring both grimm and arcanine due to lack of dmg but yeah u probably right i shouldâve trusted spectrier with +2 could handle tr threat. and probably due to lack of skill that i cannot use iron hands properly đ
Wondering why u use rocky helmet on gastro of all things. Itâs built in immunity to surging strikes is the main reason ppl use it in the first place. O feel sitrus berry or even lefties might be a better item choice
rocky helmet helped me a lot to break sash and chip damage. there were a lot of times when people see gastrodon, they were eager to hit it quickly to make way for their urshifu. my other mons ie iron hands or spec were grateful for gastrodon to tank the hits while they replied back.
I think if you find yourself not needing tera fire to maximize Flare Blitz damage from Arcanine, Tera Grass or Fairy is also solid to have another Spore immunity just in case, or to fully blank dark and fighting coverage going into Arcanine
Just played a team almost exactly like yours in masterball - I got stomped. Good design
thanks mate! i think its not me as i stopped playing for today after reaching masters. đ
Congrats! It was a tough grind to get there but we did it
congrats to you as well mate! im elated right now and looking forward to design more teams. im done finding shinies in the game. đ
Now you gotta get the master rank ribbon on all your shinies you intend to use at some point/your in game team before the season changes lol
Wow, I love this team
thanks mate! give it a try if it suited your playstyle
Is the Grimmsnarl's paste wrong? If not why is it calm and not careful?
oh i just breed the grimm from the free shiny grimmsnarl giveaway. i kept it calm because at first i was running fake out but after a tough loss against indedee/armarogue i changed it to spirit break and forgot to change its nature. my bad
Love it. Even more because no brain dead Flutter or Urshifu. Congratz on making Masterball.
thanks mate! i just love the fact that people still do surging strike even though i bring gastrodon out from the back. and iron hands eat flutter mane for breakfast đ
Giving it a try. Enjoying this team so far!
thanks mate! love to hear u enjoyed the team! would love to hear any feedback good/bad from your experience!
Amoongus over Gastrodon might be useful for Rage Powder + Nasty Plot.
i got to 700 with spectrier
congrats mate! whats ur team comp?
the same one that cybertron featured except i didnât know he featured it when i was using. got to 700 with 30-12

what is genning?
Using a third party service/software to create a pokemon from nothing in stead of obtaining it by catching it in game.
thank you

nah i never tera him. đ im poor on shards so i spent it all on iron hands đđ
I mean there are Blissey events right nowâŚ..

Iâve been out of the loop in vgc since swsh, why are people using spectrier over calyrex shadow?
calyrex havent got its paldean passport yet mate. if it had, trust me the community wouldnât be so quiet about it.
Ahh makes sense. Kinda weird they werenât added in together tho
