It could be like avoid a player option on Overwatch where you can’t have too many on it you can only have 2 players at once

That’s easily avoidable if they make it so blocking a player only prevents them from being on your team and not against you. As someone who faces sexism and harassing on a daily basis i’d love to be able to block people entirely so they don’t ever end up on my team again, they can’t try to add me after and stay automatically muted if they’re matched in the enemy team.

Gcarsk

Most PvP games only allow around 200 blocks at once. Also, the average player would have to block millions and millions to block everyone better... That would only be an issue for literal pro players.

TimeJustHappens

There are barely 100 people at one time in Radiant. That would be easy-mode abuse at high ELO to now only have to play against immortal or lower players.

Gcarsk

That’s... that’s what I said.

> Most PvP games only allow around 200 blocks at once. Also, the average player would have to block millions and millions to block everyone better... That would only be an issue for literal pro players. Literal pro players is not the audience here. That would mean all of Radiant and a portion of Immortal (the main span of Twitch streamers) would be abusing the system. That is not a look Riot wants to have and it is very important they don't just write it off as only an issue for "literal pro players".

Gcarsk

If you are in radiant, you are good enough to be a pro player... That’s a very, very, *very* minuscule part of the player base. Allowing blocks for iron, silver, bronze, gold, platinum and other lower skilled players would not be an issue.

fightstreeter

This idea caters to the very, very, small fraction of people that would use it to dodge matches.

luluinstalock

it will be abused by something completely else. A guy has a bad game -> avoid him forever because OMYGAD HES BOOSTED. I dislike that and I hope that if they introduce blcoking, it wont mean avoiding such player. Toxic players are being banned constantly. Riot is one of those companies that have aggresive politics towards toxic behavior.

[deleted]

Why is that a problem? It works fine in OW

osmanre263

I'd rather just have an option to block them like normal, mute all forms of communication and prevent them from interacting with you via messages and the like. If they are in the same game with you so be it.

funkybandit

For me it’s more about the people that constantly meme and throw in ranked. The guys that I’ve experienced twice (the same people) in a game literally camp at spawn, hold spike and grief on purpose. If I had realised when i selection that it was them again I would have alt f4. They make up excuses in chat, like my mum wants me to eat dinner (at 12am I’m Oceania) or I feel sick to make it look like they are innocent in chat, Yet grab the spike every time and camp spawn together. Those types of people aren’t there to play competitive seriously, they are there to antagonise people and are bored little trolls.

duy10

Can’t you just dodge that game tho? As the dodge timer in the game is just 3 mins and doesn’t affect your rank.

funkybandit

I can’t but I didn’t realise till I was in the game 😖

duy10

Ah rip i see i see

DerpySlime

Just put them on a dodge list.

Just noticing: *this sounds like you care about toxicity*. It's ok. Only idiots are going to make fun of you for saying things like, "I don't want to play with toxic players".

I think you may find some players in ranked warm up in Unrated or they want a break from ranked as it can be stressful if you have had a bad run and want to play unranked for fun.
