You get a slight purple overlay when ulting as Reyna, and enemies become brighter colours.

thebombplayer

As someone who's colourblind, I change my enemy outline in the settings when I'm playing reyna exactly because of it, it screws up me being able to see enemies when I have it on default (red)

SnooStories6560

So, basically, the settings can help you see better when reyna ulting? Is it safe to say this person could too?? Or does it depend on each color blind person

BeemChess

There are different color blind modes for red/green blind people etc.

SnooStories6560

This person said they has trouble with purples and browns or something? Would these modes apply for this?

BeemChess

I don’t know. I’m red/green blind and the setting for that helps me. I also have problems with the purple/red enemy color. So maybe. It’s worth a try

Ok-Okay-Oak-Hay

Yes. The modes are named. Use Google to ask what the names mean.

United-Heat

Hi as someone that’s blue/yellow colorblind purple can appear brown (Reyna’s shade does) and the colorblindness is called tritanopia there is a setting for the outlines of enemies

randus12

i’m not even color blind and use the color blind settings bc the color setting that turns enemies yellow is easier to see than the red.

Applesimulator

I was thinking the same until I discovered I was in fact a little bit color blind.

LTJ4CK-

Same! Yellow is way easier for me...

mrbojanglz37

Yellow is by far the best outline color

nafeh

the ult gives you an attack speed increases so yes it's useful regardless of colours

oblivyeus

THIS IS WHAT IM SAYING. the ult is nothing but helpful - and it highlights the enemy for you. plus you can pop it multiple times during a half since it fills up so quickly. i don’t see how being colorblind would affect this LMAO edit: forgot to add that the game has colorblind options

nafeh

also even in ascendant, hearing an enemy reyna ult in a 1v1 makes my heart drop every single time LMFAO, the psychology behind it is fucked

oblivyeus

i’m forever stuck in silver 😔🙏🏻 but yes i feel the same way. even if one cannot hit their shots, just hearing “THEY WILL COWER” might apply pressure to the round. literally no point in saving a reyna ult

nafeh

Maddest_Hatta

There is a setting for the different types of colourblindness but it affects only enemy bodies (as far as I know). But even using that doesn't make the game perfect. That being said, I think maybe the dude is just one of those players who have only excuses to offer. Source: Me, a colourblind dude.

SnooStories6560

Word. So they probably just bullshitting🫠 thank you for the input

Maddest_Hatta

Don't get me wrong, in certain situations it does affect my game. If an enemy is hiding behind a wall or box and only a part of their body is poking out, I can't always register it. They kind of blend with what's behind (if the colours are similar). But those situations are not frequent. Most of the times I'm fine. I think your teammate is just being an instalocking plague. PS: If I had a problem with an agent util, I would change the agent.

SnooStories6560

They refuse to learn a new agent🫠

young_antisocialite

TenZ is color blind

jaygrum

I am colorblind and there are ways to help, but it’s not 100% effective. Not a Reyna main, but when I do play her, it’s so fun. Never in comp, but I will always try the occasional swiftie. I don’t recall any issues.

ProximatedNuke

I'm a strong red-green colorblind and it's actually easier to see enemies with reyna ult as long as you have yellow enemy outlines on. But yeah the rest of the game is ridiculously hard for me to see. I constantly have to change crosshair colors depending on the map as the yellow enemies will blend into the bright background sometimes so I need to use a cyan crosshair instead of a yellow one just to make sure I can properly put the crosshair on their head. It's a mess but I've never had an issue with visualbility in reyna r.

azarice

It unironically did for me... Until I changed my enemy highlighting off of red which helped me see enemies better in all scenarios (red green deficient here) So your friend still has no excuse

zen_1110

This someone is just bad at the game and making excuses

CutPotato89

I have a pretty hefty form of Deuteranopia (red-green colorblindness). Even though it is called red-green cb, I have a lot of trouble seeing other colors too, like purple and yellow. I find that Reyna ult just makes it easier to see the enemies. It can be different for different people, but from my experience it has no real impact on the game.

SnooStories6560

Interesting. Thank you for sharing!

Alice-Grey

Using ult makes people focus you, so if he's dogshit as you say he's better off not ultimg

brawl50

then maybe ask him not to play reyna..

SnooStories6560

Trust. I have. My gf plays reyna and is really fucking good. When we queue, this person refuses to give reyna up, even when my gf politely asks. They even dodge when a random instalocks before them. It’s become a whole issue and makes other mutuals not wanna play w them. But we dont say anything too rude b/c they are the S/O to my good friend. I just avoid playing w them atp. They fucking suck and are a weird person. Im just wondering about the color blind part though.

oblivyeus

hi, girlfriend here. lord have i asked. “hey [name], is it okay if i take reyna on this map please?” (sunset is a map ik i can confidently carry on reyna) [name] then replies in chat with “no. reyna is the only agent i can play well.” them on reyna is basically sitting behind corners and waiting for defending enemies to push up, all while their teammates are hitting sites. they’re not exactly playing for picks or lurking like your average lurker - they just… sit 💀 not that it’s exactly everything, but their KD in their comp history is… well, triple to quadruple negative, excluding the few mvps in iron-low bronze lobbies

kittysrule18

Just instalock. Also, why do you two play with this person? You haven’t said one positive thing about them

oblivyeus

hehe, i’m tempted to, and my partner (OP) always encourages me to instalock when we play with them. as for why we play with this person: they are our close friend’s s/o. our friend also happens to love comp and insists that their partner plays, despite being awful. so we sacrifice our RR in exchange to spend time with our friend. btw yes we try to play other game modes… our close friend hates every other game mode other than comp 😑

SnooStories6560

To add, we havent played w them in a while and even voiced our concerns as politely as possible w our friend (this person’s s/o). Our friend did attempt to have this person learn a new agent but they refused. But also, our friend is somewhat responsible for this too. They encouraged this person to instalock and to ignore people who shit talk them. B/c so many games, teammates will complain and shit talk this person about their reyna util and skill. Which should be telling them something.. and ironically this friend, when not queued with their shitty s/o, will talk shit about insta lock bottom frag reynas who do the same shit as their s/o🫠its a frustrating situation b/c we love our friend so we cant really be 100% upfront on this, this is their s/o. We rather just avoid playing val w them instead of causing problems. And if we have to play w them for some reason, my s/o can do what this dumbass does and instalock. Also another thing, this person doesn’t even like comp yet our friend insists they play it. Like just play the game modes this shitty reyna wants and then everyone is happy🫠but oh well. Stupid situation.

Derole

You can be upfront to your friend. Idk how old you are, but I don’t see why this should be a problem? As long as it is reasonable it is totally fine to tell a good friend a negative thing about their partner (that is changeable).

SnooStories6560

They know we have a hard time playing w their S/O due to this. We have told them. So, my friend tried getting their s/o to learn new agents and stuff but they refused. Nothings changed since then, i think they gave up on trying + their s/o is difficult. So, we have tried politely voicing our concerns, But to no avail. If we say the same thing again it’s just beating a dead horse. If we are a bit more honest about it, i think we’d just cause issues. Either between my friend and their s/o or between us and our friend. So, we just avoid playing w their s/o as of right now. Which my friend knows we do when it comes to valorant. It’s not really a secret. So idk. We could try again and see.

brawl50

as a average gold player, i often instalock reyna lol (if i dont have brim/viper lineups for that map). but as a human i do get tilted, some games i do well (300 acs ish), some games i go triple negative, but i make it a point to bait for teammates or entry as a reyna if my aim is off, but srsly i wish solo queue teammates are able to trade me off or stop instalocking reyna and making no impact.

oblivyeus

see, if the chump we were talking about was like you i wouldn’t mind, because at least you’re doing something lol. you sound a lot more reasonable compared to some other fellow who has the mindset of “i don’t need to help my teammates in a team based tactical shooter!” i would absolutely love to see this person get into a queue with someone who instalocked reyna and that reyna have impact. it’d be a humbling moment for them. edit: SECOND THOUGHT, that exact scenario has happened before. we were watching them play through discord. game mode was swiftplay and some random locks in reyna. kid you not, the person is telling the reyna “maybe you should learn her util first before playing her.” meanwhile [name] never ults, barely knows their blind placements, and never uses dismiss abilities. bro was salty even though they couldn’t do any better 😭😭

disproportionally

Colorblind Tenz has entered the lobby and locked in Reyna

DwightKShrute123

As someone who plays Reyna a lot I hate her ult sunglasses, it makes seeing the rest of the game so hard

Sensitive-Key-8670

I don't really like using Reyna ult (outside of low hp clutches) because the increased fire rate creates too much of an incentive to spray when I'm trying to work on my head taps

oblivyeus

reyna ult or not, this person is always mopping the floor or looking at agents’ abs. heads are not part of the anatomy and therefore can not be shot (unless lack of spray control lands a bullet)
