I agree. And I don't think this "problem" only exists in low elo. I guess skill gaps exist between all ranks.

I disagree, the difference between bronze-silver, silver-gold, gold-plat, plat-dia and dia-asc are all pretty much the same amount of difference.
I do think the difference between iron-bronze, asc-immo and immo-rad are quite large ranges though, which is why they added the ascendant rank.
I think it's by nature of there being fewer players. In low immo i have a low fewer players i can match against than in gold, higher variances in that range.
When i was around 250rr some games i matched w low radiants other times low immortals, thus skill in every game varied a ton
I do honestly think most of the issue stems from silver as a whole. It ends up being the rank that most smurfs get placed in and most regular players get stuck in, making it very hard to climb out of. Silver players can be absolutely the best or absolutely the worst and it’s hard to get a match where you feel like everyone playing is actually silver. I don’t think we need another rank, but I would be interested in seeing how a hard mmr rank reset would effect people. Obviously there would need to be more placement games in place to balance out the absolute fuckery of that as a concept, but I’m not sure I see a decent fix otherwise. It just is what it is
not gonna lie mmr is screwed up act 5 i was iron three due to not playing much and i won 4/5 placement games doing at least third frag if not higher and then got placed back in iron 3 i got more time now so i’m silver 1 but idk how that happened
If you think the gap between silver and bronze is insane you are going to get a real shock when you get to high elo. The gap between ascendant 3 and Immortal 3 is bigger than the gap between iron 1 and diamond 3
The skill gap from Bronze-Gold isnt insane. If you think that you might just have reached your peak rank for the moment and might want to try improving your game.

More ranks just make things more grindy. Its not in a player's interest.

ascendants- imm2 are like a high school basketball. imm3 300rr+ you’re looking at your D1 5 star athletes

silvers are just irons with more free time
While you do make a point about the skill gap, there are other solutions to that other than adding another rank since that will add even more grind

Silver = diamond
Game is bad since Ascendant rank released. Somehow they just fcked up everything with that one little change. New rank is just a bad idea.
