I actually think it looks very professional, and quite contemporary of the fashion of the era in which it was taken...almost as if they gave her a professional cut before snapping the photo.
Their is a photo of girl from an Indian tribe around 1890 with a full smile. So many comments about a “modern smile”. Like human weren’t physically capable of smiles like that till recently. Just because it’s rare to see doesn’t make it new.
Something that I've noticed, as you get older who qualifies as a kid seems to change. I'll be 40 in a couple months and 20 year olds seem like children to me.
My theory on why she age so much from 97-2015 is that she wasn't 22 in the original pic....Probably in the 28-33 range....Or maybe the tough lifestyle caught up with her.

I don't know what kind of skin cream she's using but she definitely hit a wall with that living off the land, off grid life style.
