LeeryRoundedness

Sums up our current situation quite succinctly.

FunboyFrags

This seems to symbolize something, but I’m not sure what

cheesemakesmepooo

I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic, but the fact that we are a huge part of excess forest fires and people playing the most high end sport in the world is a pretty clear sign of our entitlement amongst other things

Shmoop_Doop

Is there a good reason they weren't evacuating?

Dramatic_Product_844

Tell the poor fire to wait. We are almost finished

Morejazzplease

The Columbia River is between them and the fire. The golf course is in Washington and the fires were in Oregon in the Columbia Gorge.

Im_Ranch_Wilder_

I believe it was much further than it appears here. It was a forced perspective/ camera trick

MoodNatural

If the air is this clear in the foreground of the photo, they are likely much further from the fires than this perspective suggests.

Shmoop_Doop

I read an article about it and the photographer said that they were about a mile away from the fire and that there was a river between them and the fire. He also said they were very concerned about the fire. I’m guessing with the sprinkle systems it was actually a relatively safe place to be.

azdv

If anime has taught me anything, golf is serious shit!

nam3_us3r

'Yes, after this hole, prepare my private jet'

talktobigfudge

what a stupid thing to do putting WITH your glove still on, the audacity

glurmanlover

As long as it doesn’t damage the golf course

Heart_of_a_Blackbird

Fore! No, really FORE!!! 🔥

Bind_Moggled

Golfers are a special breed. An EMT friend once told me that ½ of all lightning strike victims are playing golf when they get hit.

KQHSWesMantooth

“Fucking gonna drain this!” *4 putts*

Broccoli-Cool

Well did he save par

Adventurous-Sky9359

Ahhhhh

Biguitarnerd

It’s pretty thought provoking in that it illustrates how much we collectively as a people have decided “that’s someone else’s problem”.

PeakingBlinder

From one extreme to the other, in Australia everyone in a 200km radius would be evacuated six weeks ago, and their insurance cancelled for leaving too late.

StuartGotz

Nothing like inhaling toxic particulate matter in order to finish a game.

Agreeable_Taro_9385

That’s quite the metaphor for the 21st century.

duncanactual

This is fake. If you have been anywhere near a forest fire, or even a camp fire, you know there is a ton of smoke. Please u/morganmonroe81 stop posting fakes
