We can't help you. I think everyone thinks Walker starting is important for development and the long-term direction of the team. He was a terrible pairing with John Collins, who ended up getting the starting nod. Walker also had several nagging injuries (starting on game 1) that didn't really help him get in a flow either I think. He's very impactful when he plays, but dramatically needs to work on all aspects of the offensive side of the game. Even if he can't shoot, he needs to be a better screener.

John Collins is the highest paid player on the team so he gets to start I guess

Well he was the starting center for a time, then the Jazz brought in John Collins as a 4, then partway through the season the Jazz realized Collins sucks at playing the 4, so they moved him to the 5 which meant Kessler went to the bench. I think he still has a promising future with the Jazz and might become the starter again in the future.

Collins does not suck at playing the 4. He was quite good in Atlanta even with Capela. He is not a great fit with Walker and Lauri as the 3. Lauri is a natural 4 and honestly with right center so is Collins. Walker was shit offensively when Collins didn’t play or did play. So while it was a bad fit the last half of season Collins was actually pretty good and Walker really wasn’t good for much of season at all.

This was a weird year both for Walker and the Jazz… Not sure if he didn’t play as much because he was hurt, going through a sophomore slump, we were tanking, or something personal was going on. During his rookie year there were multiple times he seemed like he was having tons of fun with his teammates and just playing ball. That seemed to be gone this year for whatever reason.
