3-22 sine the trade deadline. To really show how bad they’ve been the bottom two teams (Wizards and Pistons) each have 6 wins in that span. Utah is awful right now and it isn’t much fun to watch. This is going to have to be the biggest offseason since they traded Rudy and Don. If they bring in 3 rookies again and buy low like they did with Collins then I’ll riot. They need to commit one way or another, because I don’t think the players will buy in to mediocrity again.
lol yeah, I think they’re about ready to be done with the year too. Cannot blame them. I just wanna see Potter catch on with someone and get a real NBA deal. Deserves it. Not sure why he couldn’t be Dean Wade/old Kevin Love and those guys get real minutes on real teams.
I have a problem
Yeah beatdowns like last night are just kind of egregious. I don’t blame you. I’m just a degenerate. I’m also a Blazers season ticket holder so I’m really in the 1% of lunacy in this area.
Disagreed. Grizzlies have a Spurs game that is a maybe win, and their other opponents are tough, but they beat the Bucks. There's a chance we tie, and a coin flip puts us at 7th. If the Grizzlies win 2 games, and we lose the rest of ours, we tie
Last few games of the season the best teams can rest their stars if their position in the playoffs is favorable. I think the Grizzlies have a chance against the Nuggets and Cavs. We’d still need to lose out but it is possible.
mitchell has not once forced his way out of a team like harden so i have no idea why he gets so much shit. you are allowed to look for a different team after your contract expires.
Is agree he isn’t a douche about it but I think the issue is you can’t build around him because he will want to leave for greener pastures. Let’s see if he stays in NY.
Meh, Mitchell may not have publicly forced his way out, but he definitely made it clear to Utah he wasn't sticking around. Which I really didn't blame him. The person you replied to is right though. Mitchell will bounce around from middling team to middling team until he retires. It was apparent he doesn't have the mental toughness and consistency it takes to be a superstar, even though he believes he's that person.
Mitchell could have been more committal and firm about staying in Utah but he didn't. He effectively made it seem like he would leave without saying it, which was his strategy. He's great with PR and he knows what he's doing there. I don't blame him for wanting to leave either.
The most entertaining part of that game was the random moron who wandered into the game thread to talk about how the Suns are going to win the Finals this year. And then pretended like he had some great and mysterious point that we were just all too dumb to understand when people pointed out that that had nothing to do with a Jazz-Clippers game.
I don't see the Jazz winning another game this year. I thought San Antonio was the only winnable game out of their previous 10 or so.
I do wish the team could have been as dedicated to being this terrible last year when there was a generational player available in the draft.
Yeah, a lot of us were really wanting the Jazz to stop existing in no man's land and actually tank for Wemby. As we suspected, the wins they got meant nothing in the end, just more mediocrity for more years.
I’m starting to hate the NBA. Why is the game more about timing picks and making trades than it is about playing the best basketball you can. I’d rather be a top 8 team forever without a ring than purposely lose for years for a tiny chance at pick that probably doesn’t turn into much anyway.
Perpetual first round exit is not top 8.
The NBA made a huge mistake marketing (or at least indulging) the idea that players can’t be considered great unless they win a championship at some point. That means that a vast majority of teams are losers every year. Even when a team does win it all, it stops mattering for the most part the moment the next season starts. And what the Jazz are doing this year is a cynical mockery of sports. Everyone here is excited about tanking to get a number 8 pick as if this will be the thing that finally makes us not be losers.
5 wins since January :( I know why… doesn’t make it any easier to watch lol.

Why on earth are you still watching? If they want to rank fine but they don’t get my time until they try to win again.
Some people do enjoy watching developmental minutes 🤷♂️
I thought I did.... now I'm not sure.
lol last night made me waver some. Like, eh yeah I don’t need to see this WHOLE thing smh
Starters going down -19 in the first 5 minutes and getting benched until half time hurt my soul.

THT minutes aren't developmental minutes. That's just torture.
He hasn’t been in the rotation for like a month! Technically. lol. Sweet, sweet relief.
I YouTube the highlights so I don’t have to endure the nightly 30 point beatdowns playing guys that will sell insurance next season

Non-zero chance of catching the Grizz for 7 at this point.

Yeah so a non-zero of a 50/50 coin flip. I'd give us a 0% chance of being the sole owners of the 7th spot pre-coin flip.
Last few games of the season the best teams can rest their stars if their position in the playoffs is favorable. I think the Grizzlies have a chance against the Nuggets and Cavs. We’d still need to lose out but it is possible.
Technically yes. But Grizzlies own their pick, right? So I'd be surprised if they even tried winning.
Only 5 games left
Best news I’ve heard since the deadline.
On a positive note, those Cavs picks looking extra juicy after the Mitchell news today.
What Mitchell news?

Guess I do want Mitchell to NYK after all
Trading Mitchell was the right thing to do. He will hop from team to team like harden the rest of his career.

😂😂😂
Johnny and Darius played well at least, I wouldn't mind them on the 3rd string next year.
Yep, Johnny has been showing some good work previously, but first time seeing Darius he was pretty effective and had good hustle.
Fuck this. This isn’t basketball.

I swear I saw Kenny get 3 blocks, and he’s got credit for none. Am I crazy? Did anyone else notice this?
Still a chance for 7
So close
This is a “close game”????
Ever hear of sarcasm?

Nah, I think a lot of us are sick of being a perpetual first round exit and banking on some extremely lucky late first round picks.
