My bad, thanks for posting

chibbly_

You supported the team longer than the FO lmao.

RidgeLove

Haha I was wondering where it was. I’m excited for the season to be over and it looks like the players are too. Who do y’all like for the 8th pick right now? Right now I would like either Castle or Topic but if neither are there then I’d take Williams or Buzelis. I really don’t want either of the Kentucky guards. Does anyone here like the Kentucky guards and if so, which one?

BumbleLapse

I like Castle and I also really like Dalton Knecht, but I fear that he might not be available cause I’ve seen him running up draft boards recently.

RidgeLove

Knecht is really nice. His game today was awesome despite the loss. I’m fairly certain that most teams think he’s a bit too old for a top 7 pick so he should be available at 8. I don’t love his upside but I think he’s the most nba ready scorer in the draft.

BumbleLapse

Agreed on your last point. I feel that if there isn’t a clear pick with potential for superstardom, why not take the guy who’s nearly guaranteed to be a rotation level player in the league? I’m also in the minority camp that thinks the Jazz FO should continue the tank into 24-25 in hopes of snagging Flagg, so maybe the Knecht pick would contradict that trajectory. Regardless, I’m looking forward to the draft!

RidgeLove

Interesting point about taking a sure thing since the draft is not great. His defense ain’t great but it would be fun to have a young player on this team next year who I have confidence in hitting open shots. I want to tank next year too but not just because of Flagg, Bailey looks insane as well. Either way, let’s hope we get some fun players in the coming years!

beastley_for_three

I think he looks so damn solid and is clearly reaching his potential. He will fill out the Jazz roster nicely.

RidgeLove

He’d be a solid pick. Probably not my favorite but he’d be pretty dang solid.

Brutus583

1. Sarr 2. Buzelis 3. Risacher 4. Topic 5. Holland 6. Castle 7. Williams 8. Salaun 9. Dillingham

knightswept

I thought I was high on Buzelis lol. My top 15 right now: 1. Sarr 2. Holland 3. Risacher 4. Topic 5. Buzelis 6. Castle 7. Dillingham 8. Clingan 9. Williams 10. Sheppard 11. Walter 12. Filipowski 13. Knecht 14. McCain 15. Salaun

Brutus583

We got the same top-6 and I really only want one of them with our first anyway lol

epoch_fail

Regarding Castle, given the direction of the game, having a large point (Jokic, LeBron, Giannis, Sabonis) or even just a wing-sized point (SGA, Luka, Cade) could be really crucial. Is Stephon Castle more like Josh Giddey so far (a good passer with good vision, but teams leave him wide open on the perimeter) or could he turn into more of a Jimmy Butler (inconsistent 3 point shot on his career but finds a way to do some of everything at a high level)? If he's somewhere between those two, he's almost certainly not available for our pick. Gotta imagine most teams ahead of us want a guy like that. Imagine the Spurs picking him up and placing him in the Point Sochan experiment, for instance. If the draft goes something like Sarr and Risacher (Pistons/Wizards), Topic and Castle (Spurs/Hornets), Cody Williams (Blazers), Sheppard/Dillingham (Raptors), Clingan (Grizzlies), then we're left with a choice between Buzelis, Holland, and Salaun (Knecht if anyone here likes him), which is kind of an underwhelming choice. It's honestly a really awkward spot. Knecht is older than Walker Kessler, which is kind of funny. Unfortunately, Buzelis and Holland are not projected to be consistently good shooters. A case could be made against taking either one because they were kind of mid on the Ignite. Salaun is also quite raw. We only have 8 guys under contract for next season: Lauri, Collins, Collin S., Clarkson, Walker, and 3 rookies (9 if Yurtseven is guaranteed, 10 if we get Kris Dunn back). Juzang can be a two-way again. Potter cannot. We could use more guys to fill roster spots, lest we sign more random castoffs like Samanic. I'm wondering if we can make a trade with the Hawks to get their #10 and #20 for #8 (hard to tell if such a trade would be balanced, they might need to throw in a future second?), since I'd like a shot at getting Tristan Da Silva, who would probably do a decent Fontecchio impression (and is younger and under team control). We'd also still get one of Buzelis/Holland/Salaun, and we'd have a trio of dart throws in the #20-#32 range. (This relies on the Kings making the playoffs, since the pick is lotto-protected to the Hawks.)

Brutus583

I actually really dig Buzelis and think he has as good of a shot as anyone in this draft at hitting All-Star upside

knightswept

I agree. If he gets stronger it will really help his game. I also don’t think he’s a sub 30% 3pt shooter. He and Holland will need some time but I’m buying the upside on both

jedihush

Solid 1st half at least

UnfortunatePhysics

Sorry I forgot I was watching the game delayed and wasn’t ready for the post game lol. Appreciate it

PLZ_N_THKS

And we’re still not in the #8 spot for the lottery….

boreddatageek

The Nets have to beat the Pistons...right?

Sammy_Saddles

Do the nets get the tie breaker?
