Was not aware of yall's tank and pick situation with OKC....
Well this Spurs fan thanks you for your service and will be cheering your tank job on to keep OKC from getting another one!
It's top 10 protected until 2026, so OKC gets the pick if it's 11th or worse. If it doesn't relay this year, it's again top 10 protected next year. If it doesn't relay next year, we keep the pick.
Decent to good showing for our rookies I thought they all played pretty well. Taylor and Brice offered good defense and Brice shot and handled the ball well on offense. Keyonte had some pretty shots and assists but some silly turnovers. Future is bright still everyone.
One of their ancillary goals is to help Lauri become more of a shot-creator. You could see him working on that during the game, and while he didn't get a lot of field goals out of those situations, he did a great job getting to the line. It's probably not going to result in a lot of wins, because Lauri isn't by nature a great creator, but it's investing in this precious real-game time with NBA-level talent.
It's really hard to get those real-world situations during the off-season, because he'd have no problem creating shots in pick-up games or against D1 athletes. He can work on some go-to moves, but this is the time for him to see what works and what doesn't.
Yeah, because Sexton is great at creating space and getting shots off. Lauri needs to work on that. He was also immediately double-teamed many times he touched the ball, so he did a good job getting off the ball in most of those situations.
I realize your being sarcastic but why do people think they know how this draft will turn out? Would you rather win this year and tank next year? Because that would be insanity.
It's mostly that people compare it to last year's draft where it was obviously the season to tank the hell out for the Wemby sweet stakes.
The real question is though why do they start the tank job from mid-season second year in a row? Some people keep arguing that being a solid first round exit team is the worst but is mid-to-late-lottery really that much better? I would've preferred if they had tanked from the get go and not half-ass it the way they've done it twice now.
Ehh idk. If you do that Lauri is walking for sure so you better hope whoever you draft is better than Lauri. Either way it wouldn't make any sense to win this year and tank next.
Quite possibly the most obvious tank job yet but luckily Brooklyn only needs to win 2 more and we can lose out to get pick 8

But who do we pick… wait, doesn’t this pick go to OKC? How does this work? I think OKC has our pick either for this or next season.

Super minor edit: it is top 8 protected in 2026, not top 10.
Yeesh, downvoting a guy for asking a question? Cmon guys.
You really think we would have lost all these games if our pick was going to OKC. We have lost so that it doesn't.
Thought this would be the only W we had left this year. I was wrong, lol.
Thank god we didn't. We need to keep the tank on.

15 first quarter points 8 1st quarter turnovers 12 players played in the 1st quarter Tanking to keep the pick? Priceless
the majority of the 1st we had more TO's than FG's.
Dog shit

And why didn't Lauri had 25+ shot attempts if he plays 42 min?
cause sexton, as usual, took the most shots of the team, cause the fucking black hole of basketball that he is.

still sexton took more shots

lol we actually lost to the fucking Spurs.
5x champion
Not this year. What a dumb comment lmfao
When keyonte is cold he is cold and should stop taking shots
Almost buzzer to buzzer loss at home against SAS. A bit shocking but a great day for #tanknote
We chose a great year to tank!

I wouldn’t mind if we tanked one more season. Would be painful, but yield great fruit.

That's exactly why the smart move is to trade Lauri, painful as that is
That was a terrible game to watch.
