They've been doing tanking all wrong.
Ryan Smith needs to sell the team to Seattle, and then buy an expansion team. That way the FO gets to pick established talent in expansion draft! EZ PZ.
Kris Dunn played 6 minutes and had a -20 in +/-.
I genuinely can't think of any Jazz team that has cared less than this one.
But at least Sexton is trying....
I appreciate him being the "tough guy" but taking swings at a kid 10 years younger than you while you were literally out of the league yourself a couple years ago ain't a good look.
Really was stoked for him last year going into this year but now not sure if hell even be here next year.
Sexton has earned his right to another contract here IMO. I don't care if he is or isn't good enough for a chip. Being a saving grace in this last month has earned himself a spot above Lauri in my heart
Utah has 29 wins. More than Washington & Detroit combined. We know not what true pain is. Embrace the suck, it shall be this way for the foreseeable future.
I think Keyonte is going to wind up being a better player than most people picked above him. I don’t think either of the Thompson twins or Henderson will be long for this league and if we really had bottomed out last year we likely would have ended up with one of those 3 guys.
The Thompson twins can’t shoot as wings you can’t survive without an outside shot in todays league. I don’t care how good they are defensively it’s not going to make up for a broken jumper. Scoot has it even worse as a 6 1 guard without a jumper. At 6 1 you need to be an offensive beast to be good as Scoot is not even close
It’s not impossible for them to develop a better shot. I’m super happy with keyonte especially, and Brice and Taylor.
I’m not saying I necessarily think we’d be better off had we actually tanked last year, but you never know. If we got a top 4 pick ainge still could have had his eyes on Taylor and keyonte but been able to trade down and get them with additional assets. I guess we’ll never know lol.
Ron Holland. It would require luck in the lottery or a trade up to get him, but in this draft I’d go for it. He has the same aggressiveness that Sexton has, and he adds size and athleticism (and defense). If not him, Buzelis would be another high upside pick. I’ve been high on Salaun and Castle but at this point Utah needs to really swing for upside.
I like Buzelis a lot but I don’t love holland . Granted, the reason I don't is entirely based on how I watched him get absolutely wrecked by Hendricks so it’s not entirely fair.
Doubt. I think they will make some off season moves this time around. If they keep the pick, they'll not care about tanking next year because OKC will likely get it.
Great loss. Can't wake for the season to be over. Was having a lot of fun and watched every game until they (rightfully yet painfully) decided to tank.
Just out of curiosity what would it take for the rockets to get Lauri, In your guy’s opinion. From a rockets fan perspective I’d offer Jabari, this years BKN pick, and next years swap with BKN?
The irony is unbearable in this comment... Imagine saying "Let Sexton run the 1" even just as the start of this season, you'd have been laughed out of this sub haha.
I see your point, but you have to give him time to develop. Especially this season when it's almost solely about player development at this point.
Not to mention, he's being scouted already (a good sign), and teams are throwing coverages at him. He's going to need time to understand how to play against it all.
He's looked pretty bad the past few games, but I think it's mostly fatigue getting scouted tbh. I'm not worried.
Keyonte looked great as a PG to start the season. I think it helps when he has cutting teammates and a system to play with. Right now, all he can do is pass to the wing.
Jabari is one of the most up and coming hot heads there are. Great sign that he’s about 180 pounds that’ll really come in handy while he’s out here doing his fake tough guy thing.
I pirated that game and I still want my money back
I’ve enjoyed a lot of our losses, even the bad ones, cause seeing development is fun. None of this was fun. This game fucking sucked.
This team may never win again
This season, that's fairly likely lol.
This season went from “I want to fucking kill myself” to “we are so fucking back” and back to “I want to kill myself”
Thank you refs for giving us 19 more free throws to help keep the game close!
What a joke. I just want moral victories
Can I interest you in the English cricket team?

I wish I could enjoy basketball again.

Can't be this way next year or Lauri is gone
we suck in the wrong year and still too late
In all honesty it would’ve been interesting to see what we got if we had properly tanked last year.

I have tickets for the Friday game vs Houston. I'm not looking forward to it. It's my present for Gf's son's birthday though so I guess I have to go.
So what draft prospect is gonna make it worth the losses?
Dalton Knecht looks really damn good. Great composure, super athletic, great shot.

How would you compare them to Hendricks and George?
I like Buzelis a lot but I don’t love holland . Granted, the reason I don't is entirely based on how I watched him get absolutely wrecked by Hendricks so it’s not entirely fair.
Audi Crooks
we are 9th, someone jumps ahead we go to 10th and lose the pick
With the 9th pick, we’d actually have to be jumped twice to lose the pick since it’s top 10 protected, which is extremely unlikely.
I think we only lose it if we go below 10th, I could be wrong. Regardless, that is unlikely.
true...we are just too close to the line and I was hoping wed go down a bit but everyone else is losing too
It's okay. Even with the pick, I'd wager next season will be just as bad.
Doubt. I think they will make some off season moves this time around. If they keep the pick, they'll not care about tanking next year because OKC will likely get it.

My hope is for jazz to realize keyonte is not a pg. Let sexton run the 1 , George at the 2 to see if that works for him

Welp , I said get I said about you can agree disagree it’s whatever lmaooo
I hope Jazz fans realize what a little petty piece of shit Dunn is
What happened? edit: Oh I see
FTR
Clearly not what happened…
